Instructions pertaining to Reservation of Seats, Fees, general eligibility criteria and Exam pattern for PhD Entrance Test – 2023

• Submission of application for PhD Programme will be online only. The candidate can only apply for one Programme as the Entrance Test shall be conducted for all the Programmes on the same day.
• Application Fee for  submission of online application is  Rs 1000.  
• Application fee is  non-refundable.
• The number of seats to be advertised in different categories (GEN/OBC/SC/ST/EWS) is as per the Reservation Policy for Research Degree Programmes and DOPT,Govt of India .norms amended from time to time.  Appendix II of the Information Brochure  may be referred in this regard. 
• No request for   change in reservation category,   shall be entertained once the application has been successfully submitted.
• Five percent (5%) seats shall be reserved for Persons with Disabilities (with not less than 40% disability). However such candidates shall be adjusted against the appropriate category (Gen/SC/ST/OBC/EWS) to which they belong (Ref.Annexure II of Information Brochure 2023).
• Candidates awarded with fellowship/scholarship in UGC-NET/UGC- CSIR NET/GATE/CEED and similar National level tests, as per the validity specified by the regulatory bodies, shall be exempted from Entrance Test and their selection will be based on interview. These candidates shall be considered as Category- A. Such candidates have to upload their valid fellowship award letter from the concerned implementing / awarding agency.
• For Category A Candidates , interview shall carry 100% weightage. All eligible candidates from Category A will be called for the interview.
• For Category B Candidates , the Entrance Test shall carry a weightage of 70% and 30% weightage shall be given to the interview. Those who secure at least 50% marks in the Entrance Test (45% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy layers) / Differently abled persons and EWS) will be shortlisted for the interview in order of merit subject to the maximum limit of five times of the available seats.

Stage II: Interview:

• Eligible candidates from Category A & Category B shall be called for interview before the Discipline Specific Admission committee. Information in this regard shall be uploaded on the University website. The respective disciplines/ schools will communicate regarding the requirement for the interview.
• The interview shall have three components comprising Research Methodology (40%) Subject domain (40%) and Communication Skills (20%).
• Admission to the Ph.D Degree Programmes is strictly on merit, based on the performance in the Entrance Test and Interview taken together.
• A candidate will be eligible for admission and registration for the PhD programme, on the fulfillment of the following conditions :
• Candidates who have completed:
• A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade is allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision as per the decision of the UGC from time to time. Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

In case, a candidate does not meet these minimum eligibility criteria and appears in the written examination, it is at the candidate’s own risk and cost, and if at any stage, it is found that the minimum eligibility requirements are not fulfilled, the admission, if granted, shall be cancelled ipso facto.

Syllabus and Question paper

• a) The syllabus of the Entrance Test is as per the ‘University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of PhD Degree) Regulations, 2022 comprising 50% on Research methodology and 50% on specific subject. The syllabus for each discipline is annexed at Appendix III of information brochure.
• b)  The question paper shall have questions consisting of  50% on research methodology and 50% on specific subject .

IGNOU Cut Off 2023

The Indira Gandhi National Open University cut off is the minimum mark that has to be met by all the applicants to secure admission to the university. For most of the programmes merit based admission is done, while for some such as B.Ed, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, MBA, M.Ed, M.Phil and PhD, entrance exam scores are considered. The entrance exam is conducted by IGNOU itself for these above mentioned programmes. For management courses, IGNOU OPENMAT is conducted, however, candidates who have aced management tests like the CAT, MAT, and state-level exams, are not required to take the OPENMAT. This exam percentile will be then translated into percentages based on the highest possible score and the actual score obtained. The IGNOU cut off set for the CAT/ MAT/ State-level Entrance Exams is 40%.

Candidates must receive the minimum number of points specified in the IGNOU cutoff in order to move on to the next step. Along with the exam result, the cut-off is made available online. After one week of the exam's conclusion, the IGNOU result is made public. On the website of the conducting body, candidates can access their results. Candidates are deemed qualified if their scores are equal to or higher than the IGNOU cut off. Only qualified applicants are secure admission.

IGNOU Cut Off Determining Factors

Based on a number of variables, the Indira Gandhi National Open University prepares the merit list or cut off list, which ultimately shortlists applicants for admission. For all the programmes except B.Ed, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, MBA, M.Ed, M.Phil and PhD, the IGNOU merit list is created on the basis of the marks obtained from the last qualifying exam. For the rest of the courses, entrance exam marks are considered to create the IGNOU cut off list. Here are some of the variable that determine the changes in the cut off released by the university every year.

• The exam's difficulty level.
• The number of applicants taking the exam.
• The highest score recorded in the examination.
• The previous year IGNOU cut off. 

IGNOU BEd Cut Off 2022

The IGNOU entrance exam, which is administered throughout India, is used to determine admission. The applicants have to submit an entrance-cum-admission form. On the day specified on the official website, the entrance exam takes place. To appear in the Entrance Test, hall tickets are uploaded to the official website (ignou.ac.in). Candidates' eligibility for admission to the B.Ed programme is not accepted by just taking the entrance exam. IGNOU Cut Off 2023

The IGNOU 2023 Cut-Off are the minimum marks decided by the University for providing admission into various courses. Cut Off are the minimum qualifying marks candidates will have to secure in the examination to qualify the exam. It is compulsory for candidates to score at least marks mentioned in the cut-off to participate in further process.

The cut-off is released through online mode along with the  IGNOU result.  The result for B.Ed entrance (January session) has been declared few days after the examination.

IGNOU 2023 Result  has been released after a week form the completion of exam. Candidates can get their result through online mode by the website of conducting authority. Result has been released individually for every candidates at their candidates dashboard.

Candidates who scores equal or more than cut-off is considered to be  qualified  in IGNOU 2023. Further only qualified candidates are eligible for admission.

IGNOU Admission 2023 Procedure  starts after the release of the result. After result announcement, qualified candidates have to fill an application form for admission (Form 2) at the concerned regional centre.

The University prepares the cut-off on the basis of several factors. The factors are difficulty level of the examination, last year trends in cut-off, number of candidates appeared in the exam, highest score in the examination, etc.

The cut-off are different for all the courses & categories. It is different for different categories. On the basis cut-off marks, the merit list will be prepared. IGNOU Admission is done on the basis of cut-off.

IGNOU PhD 2022 Instructions

Prior to entering the examination center:.

• Arrive at the exam centre one hour before the time listed on your admission card.
• Please have a full breakfast or a light lunch before departing for the location, depending on the programme. Drink lots of fluids, as dehydration can develop up throughout the heat, harming your exam performance.
• Just before entering the centre, eat a cookie or a chocolate bar; this will avoid hypoglycemia and help you stay attentive longer, increasing your outcomes.
• If it's a crowded shopping centre, don't put off the admission and security checks until the last minute.
• You will not be permitted to enter after the time limit for closing the doors has passed.
• The Admit Card is required for entry to the Exam Center; no applicants shall be admitted without it.
• Normally, no luggage are permitted.
• No food is permitted.
• Mobile phones, pagers, wireless sets, scanners, cameras, or any other electronic or digital device are not permitted in the exam centre; bringing one will result in disqualification.

As soon as you enter the centre:

• Candidates should find their allotted hall and seat once they arrive at the facility.
• Before entering the centre, applicants will be hand frisked, photographed, and video graphed if specified.
• After completing all of the requirements, applicants should proceed to the allocated venue and take a seat.
• Rough work is to be done in the space given for this purpose on Objective Type question sheets. Under no circumstances is rough work permitted on the OMR Answer Sheet.
• Only the answer sheet is to be used to answer questions.
• Inside the Test Centre, copying, using dishonest techniques of any type, talking, asking questions of other candidates, and borrowing of material are all strictly forbidden.
• The applicants must hand in their OMR answer sheets as well as the entire question paper to the Centre Superintendent. Tearing or removing the question paper is prohibited, and applicants who do so will be disqualified from the whole Entrance Test.
• It is not permitted to smoke.
• Any type of misbehaviour can result in the candidate's expulsion.
• If you are caught copying or assisting in copying, your answer sheet will be cancelled, and your candidacy will be cancelled.
• Any marking on the answer sheet or question paper will result in the test being cancelled.

IGNOU Result 2022: December TEE Scorecard, Grading System

IGNOU Result 2022:  The Indira Gandhi National Open University announced the TEE 2021 December IGNOU result on March 28, 2022. IGNOU conducted the December TEE 2021 from March 04 to April 11, 2022. Furthermore, the university has started releasing the IGNOU term end results. Candidates can check the IGNOU result 2022 from the official website by entering the enrollment number.

How to Check IGNOU Term-End Result?

IGNOU releases the term-end examination result on their official website. Only those candidates who clear the cut-off can check their names on the merit list. The candidates can either refer to the official website or follow the below-mentioned procedure to check the IGNOU December TEE result:

• 1st Step: Visit the official website, i.e. ignou.ac.in .
• 2nd Step: Check the tab named ‘Student Support’ and click it.
• 3rd Step: A dropdown list will be displayed. Click on the ‘Result’ tab.
• 4th Step: Click on the ‘Term-End’ tab. Then, click the link name ‘December 2021 Exam Result’. A new tab will be opened on your screen.

• 5th Step : Enter the enrolment number in the given space and click on the ‘Submit’ button.

• 6th Step : Finally, the IGNOU December TEE result will appear on the screen.

Details Mentioned on IGNOU Scorecard

Those who have appeared for the IGNOU exam can download the grade card or scorecard from the IGNOU official website. The candidates will be able to check the following details mentioned on the IGNOU 2022 results:

• Marks obtained by the candidate
• Enrolment number

Declaration of IGNOU Term End Result

Final-year students are offered the option of receiving their IGNOU results early in some cases. Students who are selected for any position or who register for future studies can take advantage of the early IGNOU 2022 result.

Candidates must complete the IGNOU early declaration result application form and submit it to the appropriate assessment centre prior to the exam day. Candidates must additionally pay a fee of Rs. 1000/- per course to have their IGNOU results released earlier than expected.

IGNOU Grade Card

IGNOU releases the TEE grade card in online mode along with the result. The IGNOU grade card is available on the official website. The candidates can download the IGNOU grade card by selecting their courses and entering their enrolment number. Furthermore, they can check various result-related details on the grade card. Here are the details that will be mentioned on the IGNOU grade card:

• Program name
• Course course
• Assignment marks
• Theory marks
• Practical marks
• Status (completed/not completed)

Also, if any student has lost the IGNOU grade card, then he/she can get a duplicate grade card. Students need to fill out the application form for obtaining the duplicate grade/mark sheet and submit a fee of Rs. 250/- through a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of IGNOU payable in ‘New Delhi’.

If you have got marking and still have incomplete written next to it, it implies that you did not obtain the requisite number of points to clear the exam.

IGNOU Exam Result: Re-evaluation

For instance, if candidates are not satisfied with their results, they can also apply for revaluation. The candidates are given the facility to choose IGNOU revaluation. For the revaluation, the candidates will have to fill out the revaluation form for IGNOU.

After filling up the revaluation form, the applicants will have to send that form to the university revaluation centre. Also, the candidates will need to send the form with the photocopies of their answer scripts. After that, IGNOU will re-evaluate the answers provided by the students.

Note: Students can apply for the re-evaluation of the IGNOU result process in the case of TEE only, not for the lab/dissertation or thesis/projects.

IGNOU Re-evaluation Result

IGNOU releases the re-evaluation result for the term-end exam on the official website. After the application process for re-evaluation is over, the officials verify the result and then declare the re-evaluation result. Candidates who have applied for the re-evaluation can check the result from the official website. Moreover, they need to provide their enrolment number to check re-evaluation results.

IGNOU Improvement Exam

If the student is not satisfied with their scores, they can appear for the improvement exam. Students who have completed the Bachelor/Master’s program and wish to improve their Division/Class can apply for the IGNOU improvement exam. The improvement exam is conducted only for theory papers.

IGNOU Back Papers

If you have failed any first-year paper, then you can re-appear for the exam and clear the back papers in the next 2 years. In order to apply for the back papers, the candidate needs to fill out the application form. The application form will be made available at the official website, i.e. ignou.ac.in .

IGNOU gives 8 years (for UG) and 5 years (for PG) to clear the backlogs. Note that the candidates will not have to resubmit the assignments if they have already submitted them in the previous year.

Students must also be aware of the following points regarding the IGNOU grade card:

• The marks obtained in assignment and theory are multiplied by 2. For example, if the student has obtained 40, then it is mentioned as 80 on the mark sheet.
• The IGNOU Grade Card will be available in online mode only.
• The grade card for all the streams, such as MCA, BCA, MP, etc., will be available on the official website.
• Scores will be calculated from TEE theory marks, TEE practical marks, and assignments.

IGNOU also provides an option for declaring the result earlier than the stipulated time of announcement. This option is only provided to final-year students under some circumstances. The circumstance can be like the student getting selected for any post or higher studies which requires the IGNOU result to be released earlier than the scheduled date of the IGNOU result.

Thus, in such circumstances, candidates can go for early results. The candidate has to fill out the application form of the IGNOU early declaration result and send it to the concerned evaluation centre before the exam starts. The required fee for the same is Rs. 1000/- per course.

IGNOU B.Ed Scorecard is going to contain details like marks obtained by the candidate, All India Rank, and the qualified status of the candidate for IGNOU B.Ed 2024. • Step 2: Click on the “Results” tab on the home page.
• Step 3: You are going to be directed to a page where the Link to IGNOU B.Ed Result 2024 is going to be displayed.
• Step 4: Enter your Enrollment number in the given field.
• Step 6: Your result is going to appear on the screen. Download the Result Card for future reference

Note: In case, any candidate does not receive the Result Card after the declaration of the result, he or she should contact the Regional Director, IGNOU of his/her center.

IGNOU B.Ed Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two candidates, secure the same rank in IGNOU B.Ed 2024, then the following criteria is going to be used to break the tie:

Candidates’ Qualification

Candidates are given preference according to the marks scored in their qualifying exam. Given below are the marking criteria.

• Candidates who have scored above 50% in their post-graduate program are given 2 marks.
• Candidates who have scored above 50% in their undergraduate program are given 1 mark.
• If the tie persists, candidates with higher scores are given preference.

Candidates’ Age

• If the tie persists after taking the candidates’ qualifications into consideration, their age is considered.
• Candidates who are older are going to be given preference.

What after IGNOU B.Ed Result 2024?

After the publication of IGNOU B.Ed Result, the Cut-off is going to be released by the University, separately for each category. IGNOU B.Ed Cut Off is going to be determined by taking into consideration factors like the difficulty level of the exam, previous year’s cut-off, highest score, and total number of candidates who appeared in the exam.

IGNOU B.Ed Counselling 2024

After the declaration of the result, candidates who qualify are going to be issued call letters from regional centers of IGNOU. The counseling process is briefly mentioned below:

• The list of qualifying candidates for counseling is going to be released online on IGNOU official website.
• IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Test Counselling schedule is going to vary for different regional centers and is usually conducted at designated PSCs only on Saturdays and Sundays.
• IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Test 2024  Counselling is usually conducted through four rounds of counseling for admissions to various IGNOU colleges offering B.Ed programs. Candidates can register themselves
• For IGNOU BEd Admissions’ the maximum seat intake for all the allocated PSCs is 50. The regional centers are going to release the final list of shortlisted candidates for B.Ed admission for a particular academic session.
• Admission to the B.Ed program is possible only when qualified candidates submit all the requisite documents on the day of counseling.
• If at a later stage, it is found that the documents submitted are false, the admission of the candidate is subject to cancellation and no fee refund is going to be permitted.
• Candidates failing to report at the allocated PSC (Programme Study Centres) is going to be automatically rejected from participating in any subsequent rounds of seat allocation.

The following documents is going to be required to be presented at the time of document verification at IGNOU Regional Center:

• Call Letter for IGNOU B.Ed Admission
• Hall Ticket for Entrance
• High and Higher Secondary/Sr. Secondary School Certificate, along with mark sheet
• Make sure, your date of birth is indicated clearly on the mark sheet
• Graduation/Post-Graduation mark sheet
• NCTE Recognized Teaching Program Certificate
• Practical Work including Internship certificate from any recognized school
• Experience cum employment certificate

IGNOU B.Ed Result 2024 FAQs

Ques: How many seats are available for IGNOU B.Ed?

Ans: The number of seats offered by IGNOU for B.Ed is limited to 50 seats in each Program Study Center. Based on the cut-off released by the University, candidates are going to be called for counseling at the respective regional centers of IGNOU.

Ques: Will IGNOU B.ed Result 2024 be valid if I have backlogs in the qualifying examination?

Ans: IGNOU B.Ed Result issued by the University is going to be valid. However, candidates that are seeking admission are going to be required to present documents as per the minimum eligibility criteria for verification at the time of counseling at regional centers.

Ques: What should I do after the declaration of IGNOU B.Ed Result 2024?

Ans: After the declaration of IGNOU B.Ed Result 2024, a merit list is going to also be released by the university. Based on the category-wise cut-off, eligible candidates is going to be issued call letters for counseling and document verification at IGNOU Regional Centers.
