Nothing in this world can beat the importance of reading storybooks. When we read a storybook we are immediately shifted to a different fictional world. I recently loved a book based on dance experience. As a dancer, it gives me immense joy to go through it several times. The book is Rasia, by Koral Dasgupta.

The book explores the story of a dancer Rajsekhar Subramanian and his several experiences when he meets a woman named Vatsala in New York. She makes him realize the importance of knowing his own perfect self and also the significance of his wife Manasi in his career. The concept of a dancer knowing himself through his passionate dance attracts my interest the most. Stories like this must be read to even know oneself the best.

Reading storybooks is the biggest asset of human life. Nothing compares itself in this world with the reading of a storybook and the emotions that are experienced after going through it. A storybook is much different from those we read in the educational syllabus.

It is mainly made for fun reading and also to learn something quite easily than the cramped syllabus. For me, reading storybooks is simply an expression of liberty and happiness. It is my time where I let none interrupt. I not only read them but also make my own interpretations and write them down in my journal.

A book that I have journaled really well is an English translation of Chokher Bali by Rabindranath Tagore. The story, in English, undoubtedly is a masterpiece of the great author. The novel tells us about a complex relationship between the four main characters, Mahendra, Binodini, Ashalata, and Behari. The friendships, husband-wife relationships, and the intrusion of an outsider widow, all sum up the story as a complex web of emotions.

The reader feels confused as to support Binodini or simply accuse her of destroying the life of Ashalata and Mahendra. Behari is praised for his attitude and for Mahendra’s fickle mind Binodini suffers throughout her life. As a friend, she shows Ashalata the true nature of her husband. Chokher Bali is my favourite Tagore novel that weaves great complexity into a final solution.

Life is not always s peaceful and happy as it seems to be. We often feel tired when we cannot perform as we want, with our family and friends. In those lonely moments, we need a company with whom we can share our thoughts and feelings. Books, especially storybooks help us to vent these emotions, happy or sad. For me, storybooks are my best friends who help me go through all my problems. Whenever I need a company that can transport me to a different world, then only storybooks can help me do so.

The best storybook which I have read recently is a famous book written by Mulk Raj Anand named The Untouchable. The story is as important to the reader as it is to the countrymen. The story has a central figure called Bakkha who is a latrine cleaner. The boy is of young age and through his generations, he is forced to work as a latrine cleaner. He is tortured tremendously by the higher caste people of his society.

Even Bakha’s sister is equally humiliated by the head priest of the temple who tries to molest her for being a sweeper girl. She is forced to stand afar in the line to fetch water because she comes from the family of the sweepers. Class discrimination gets its most terrific view with the treatment of Bakha when he visits the house of a woman and is humiliated. The woman throws a chapatti at his face because he is a sweeper. The position of a human is destroyed by this ill-treatment.

The story’s significance is that it can be divided into two parts. In the first part, Bakha gets ill-treated by the community members. In the second part, the arrival of Mahatma Gandhi changes the entire course of action in the book. Bakha after getting disrespected leaves the city and goes to a lonely place.

From there he is swept away by a crowd who are attending the protest movement of Gandhiji. He visits the venue and after hearing the words of the Mahatma he is inspired. His final confusion is relieved when a person discusses how a different sort of latrine will be employed in India and for that no cleaner will be required regularly. Here the novel ends.

The novel is lovely to me as it shows the reality of caste discrimination in a colonial country like India. In fact, still, India is a victim of such social issues which need to be addressed seriously and get them removed from society.

So, after going through the entire session, if you still have any doubts regarding the context, put them in the comment section below for further clarification from my side. If this lesson has helped you let us know that as well. Keep browsing our website for more such content.

Whether it’s a timeless classic or a contemporary masterpiece, each book has unique elements that can be explored deeply in a short essay. Here’s a structured guide to help you craft a compelling and insightful essay on your favorite book.

Table of Contents

Introduction

Begin your essay with an engaging introduction that hooks the reader. You might start with a striking quote from the book, a pivotal moment, or a personal anecdote about how you discovered the book. Briefly introduce the book, including the title, author, and a synopsis of the story, setting the stage for your deeper analysis.

Conclude your essay by summarizing the key points discussed. Reflect on the overall impact of the book on your life and how it has shaped your thoughts or beliefs. This is your chance to reinforce why this book holds a special place in your heart and literary collection.

My Favourite Book Essay Example #1

Books have a unique way of transporting the reader to a different world, and for me, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee is one such book. This novel has been my favourite book for many years now. It explores various themes, including racial injustice, morality, and the loss of innocence. The characters in the novel are complex and well-developed, making it a must-read for anyone who loves literature. In this essay, I will discuss why “To Kill a Mockingbird” is my favourite book, and how it has impacted my life.

Another theme explored in “To Kill a Mockingbird” is morality. The novel teaches valuable lessons about right and wrong, and the importance of empathy and understanding. Through the character of Atticus Finch, the novel shows the importance of treating everyone with respect and dignity, regardless of their race or social status. The novel also highlights the need for courage and integrity, even in the face of adversity. The moral lessons taught in the novel are essential for everyone, and they have impacted my life greatly.

One of the things that make “To Kill a Mockingbird” such an intriguing read is the complex characters that are well-developed. The character of Scout Finch, the narrator of the story, grows and matures throughout the novel, and her perspectives on life change as she gains more understanding of the world around her. Atticus Finch, Scout’s father, is a complex character who is respected in the community for his honesty and integrity. The novel also explores the character of Boo Radley, who is misunderstood by the community but is ultimately shown to be kind-hearted. The characters in the novel are relatable, and their stories stay with the reader long after the novel has ended.

My Favourite Book Essay Example #2

Reading has always been one of my favorite pastimes, and throughout the years, I have read countless books that have captured my heart and imagination. However, out of all the books I have read, one stands out as my absolute favorite – and that is “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. This book is a timeless classic that has touched the hearts of many, including myself. In this essay, I will be discussing the plot, the characters, and the themes explored in “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

The plot of “To Kill a Mockingbird” is centered around the life of a young girl named Scout Finch and her family, who live in the small town of Maycomb, Alabama, during the 1930s. The main conflict of the story arises when Scout’s father, Atticus Finch, a lawyer, is appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man who is falsely accused of raping a white woman. Throughout the book, we see how Atticus, Scout, and her brother Jem navigate the racial tensions in their town, and how they fight against the prejudices of their neighbors. The resolution of the story is both heart-warming and heart-wrenching, as we see the consequences of the trial and the impact it has on the Finch family.

The themes explored in “To Kill a Mockingbird” are numerous and thought-provoking. One of the main themes is the exploration of racial inequality and prejudice in the American South during the 1930s. Through the lens of Scout and her family, we see the devastating effects of racism on both the black and white communities in Maycomb. Another important theme is the idea of personal growth and empathy. Throughout the story, we see how Scout and Jem learn to understand and appreciate the perspectives of others, and how their experiences shape their understanding of the world.

My Favourite Book Essay Example #3

Books have always been an integral part of my life. They are a source of knowledge, entertainment, and inspiration. Among the numerous books that I have read, one stands out as my favorite, and that is “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. Published in 1960, this novel has become a classic of modern American literature. It explores themes of racism, justice, and morality through the eyes of a young girl named Scout. In this essay, I will explain why this book is my favorite and why I recommend it to others.

“To Kill a Mockingbird” is my favorite book because of its powerful message against racism. The novel is set in the deep south of America in the 1930s, a time when racial discrimination was rampant. The story follows the life of Scout, a young girl growing up in a small town. Her father, Atticus Finch, is a lawyer who defends a black man accused of raping a white woman. The trial is a symbol of the deep-rooted racism in society and highlights the injustice that African Americans faced at the time. Through Scout’s innocent eyes, we see the reality of racism and its damaging effects on individuals and society as a whole.

In conclusion, “To Kill a Mockingbird” is a timeless classic that has touched the hearts of many readers. Its themes of racism, justice, and morality are still relevant today, and the characters are unforgettable. This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the complexities of the human experience and the importance of empathy and compassion. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves literature and wants to be inspired by a great story.

Long Essay on My Favourite Book 100, 150, 200, 250 Words for Kids and Students in English

I love reading books, they are indeed my ‘best friends’. It is a tedious task to choose a good book because thousands of books are published every year. I always take the suggestions made by my teachers and parents into account while choosing a book. Some days back, my uncle gave me one as a birthday gift as he knows my love for books. It is called The Mahabharata’ and has been written in English by Anand Sagar Chowdhry and published by Goodwill Publishing House, Delhi.

Essay on “My Favorite Book-The Mahabharata” In English

When I went through the first chapter, a fascinating story unfolded itself. King Satyavan married the daughter of a washerman and his son from the first wife took a pledge to remain a bachelor all his life. He came to be known as Bhishma Pitamah. The story was so eventful that it was very difficult to keep pace with the individual events.

The battle between the Kauravas and Pandavas is so well known that it need not be repeated. In the middle of the epic stands The Gita which serves as a lighthouse. It sheds light on the theme of the whole story. The language is so poetic that one floats in its divine stream. Lord Krishna tells us to perform our duties without having any expectations about the rewards.

We should forget the sense of affection as it blurs our minds while performing our duties and meeting out justice. We should strive for excellence in whatever we do. This body is short-lived but the soul is eternal. It never dies. It keeps on changing bodies just as we keep on changing clothes. Fire cannot burn the soul nor can the sword cut it. When death is a must, why should we be afraid of it?

It was this “celestial song” ‘Gita’ that helped Arjuna to perform his duty boldly and fearlessly, keeping his personal affections at bay. The author also tells us that the struggle always continues in our hearts. Whenever we are in doubt about whether we should do something or not, we should seek guidance from The Gita.

The Mahabharata has changed the whole course of my life and I wish that it should be read by everyone. The book is especially recommended for those young people who have yet to begin their careers.

Short Essay On My Favourite Book Panchatantra In Hindi

मेरी प्रिय पुस्तक | Paragraph on My Favourite Book in Hindi

500 Words Essay on My Favourite Book

Books are the repositories of knowledge, wisdom and a source of joy. They are our best companions that open up new dimensions of understanding, and among the multitude of books, ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ by Harper Lee holds a special place in my heart.

Unveiling the Narrative

Characters and plot.

The story is narrated by Scout Finch, a young girl living with her older brother Jem and their widowed father Atticus, a highly moral and principled lawyer. The plot thickens when Atticus is appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man falsely accused of raping a white woman. The trial and its aftermath expose the children to the harsh realities of prejudice and moral hypocrisy.

Symbolism and Themes

The title of the book itself is a metaphorical symbol. Atticus advises his children that it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird as they do nothing but make music for us to enjoy. This can be seen as an allegory for the unjust treatment of innocent individuals in society.

A Lesson in Empathy

One of the most impactful lessons from the book is Atticus’s advice to Scout about understanding others: “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view…until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” This message of empathy, understanding, and tolerance resonates deeply, making it not just a book, but a guide for life.

Impact and Influence

In conclusion, ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ is a timeless classic that delves into the depths of human nature, exploring themes of innocence, morality, and racial prejudice. Its profound impact and the lessons it imparts make it my favorite book. Reading it is not merely an act of leisure, but a journey into the complexities of society and the human mind. It has shaped my perspective towards life and continues to inspire me to stand against injustice and uphold morality, even in the face of adversity.

My favourite book is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. It is a timeless classic that has captivated readers of all ages. I can confidently say that The Giving Tree is a book which everyone would like to read. What makes this book so special to me is its simplicity yet depth in meaning. It tells the story of a young boy and his relationship with a tree over the course of his life. Each time he visits, he asks something from the tree – apples, branches, even its trunk – until eventually there’s nothing left but a stump. Many see this as a commentary on human greed and our tendency to take without giving back. But for me, it’s also about unconditional love and sacrifice. The tree gives everything it has selflessly because it cares about the boy and wants him to be happy. Reading this book reminds me that sometimes we need to give more than we take It’s a poignant message that never gets old no matter how many times I read it. I’m grateful for having had the chance to experience it firsthand.

For me, this book is the epic Indian tale of Ramayana. Its timeless story of love, sacrifice, and redemption. This great book has resonated with me since childhood. Ramayana is my favourite book

What is the Ramayana?

The Ramayana is an ancient Indian epic that dates back to the 4th century BCE. It tells the story of Prince Rama, who must rescue his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana, with the help of Hanuman and other allies. At its core, Ramayana represents a clash between good and evil – where virtue triumphs over vice. The book is divided into seven parts or kandas, each one representing a different phase in Rama’s life. Ramayana has been reinterpreted many times through literature, theatre, music and television series. Its enduring appeal lies in its universal themes – love, honour and sacrifice – which continue to resonate with audiences around the world. One reason why I love this book is because it teaches valuable moral lessons about what it means to be a good person. The characters are complex and multi-faceted making them relatable even today. Ramayana remains an iconic work of literature that continues to inspire us with its timeless message of hope and redemption.

Why the Ramayana is My Favourite Book

There are numerous reasons why the Ramayana is my favourite book. Firstly, it is one of the most captivating epics ever written that has managed to capture the hearts and minds of generations across centuries. The story narrates a timeless tale of good versus evil, love, duty, friendship and sacrifice. What particularly draws me towards this epic is its ability to showcase human emotions in their purest form. It portrays how every character struggles with their inner demons while trying to fulfill their responsibilities towards society and family. This universal theme resonates with people from all walks of life regardless of age or culture. Moreover, the characters in the Ramayana have been put so vividly that they almost come alive while reading through the pages. Be it Rama’s unwavering sense of duty or Sita’s unparalleled devotion towards her husband – each character evokes strong emotions within us. What I admire about this book is its message on morality and ethics which still holds relevance even today. It teaches us that no matter how difficult a situation may be; we must always do what’s right even if it means sacrificing our own happiness. These factors make Ramayana an enchanting read for me and undoubtedly one of my favourite books ever written!

The Story of the Ramayana

The Ramayana is an epic tale that revolves around the life of Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The story begins with King Dasharatha, who ruled over Ayodhya and had three wives but no children. He decided to perform a yagna to please the gods so he could have a son. As a result of his prayers, he was blessed with four sons – Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna. However, when Rama was set to be crowned as the next king of Ayodhya, Kaikeyi – one of Dasharatha’s wives – asked him to exile Rama and make her own son Bharata the king instead. Despite being devastated by this news, Rama accepted his fate and went into exile for fourteen years along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana. During their time in the forest, they encountered various challenges including battles with demons like Surpanakha and Ravanasura. After years of difficult experiences in exile; Hanuman (a monkey god) helped them find Sita who was abducted by demon king Ravanasura from Lanka (Sri Lanka). With Hanuman’s help army led by monkeys were able to attack Lanka where eventually fought against Ravanasura himself before rescuing Sita; returning victorious back home after 14 long years. This epic story teaches us about love for family & friends towards standing up against evil forces despite all difficulties faced on our path.

The Characters in the Ramayana

The Ramayana is a story that revolves around the lives of various characters who play significant roles in shaping the narrative. There are the following main characters in the Ramayana. Lord Rama- The protagonist of the story is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and one of the most revered deities in Hindu mythology. Rama’s wife, Sita- She plays another essential character in this epic tale. She is known for her beauty, piety and unwavering devotion to her husband. Her abduction by Raavana sets off a series of events that lead to Rama’s quest to rescue her from his clutches. Raavana himself is portrayed as a complex character with both positive and negative qualities. He was a brilliant scholar but also had an insatiable thirst for power and control. Other notable characters include Hanuman – the monkey god who helps Rama defeat Raavana; Lakshmana – Rama’s younger brother who accompanies him on his journey; and Dasharatha – Rama’s father whose unfortunate actions set off some of the events in motion. Each character brings something unique to the table, contributing significantly to making Ramayana one of India’s greatest epics ever told. The Moral of the Book

What is the Ramayana edumantra.net

The Ramayana is a book that teaches us many valuable lessons and morals. One of the most prominent morals of the book is that good always triumphs over evil. This is symbolized through the story of Lord Rama’s victory over demon king Ravana, who was an epitome of evil. Another important moral in the Ramayana is loyalty and righteousness. Lord Rama always stood by his word, even when it meant sacrificing his own happiness and comfort for the greater good. His wife Sita also demonstrated utmost loyalty towards him, even during her captivity in Lanka. The book also highlights the importance of family values and relationships. The bond between Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughna showcases brotherly love at its finest. The relationship between Lord Rama and his father Dasharatha portrays respect for elders. The Ramayana teaches us to stay humble in our victories and accept defeat with grace. Despite being blessed with immense powers as a God incarnate, Lord Rama remained grounded throughout his journey. These are just a few examples of how much we can learn from this epic tale about morality, ethics and spirituality which makes it one my favourite books to read again-and-again!

Ramayana is not just a book for me but an eternal source of inspiration that has shaped my thinking and values. It is a story that teaches us about the importance of relationships, virtues like honesty, courage, loyalty, and selflessness. The characters in the book are exemplary role models who inspire us to live our lives with purpose and dignity. The message conveyed through this epic is still relevant today as it was during ancient times. It reminds us to always choose the right path no matter how difficult or challenging things may seem. I truly believe that everyone should read Ramayana at least once in their lifetime to understand its significance and appreciate the valuable lessons it provides. I am grateful for having been introduced to this remarkable work of art and will forever cherish it as my favourite book!

Essay on My Favourite Book: My Favourite Book Essay for Class 3

Geronimo stilton – the hunt for the golden book.

I love reading and my favourite book is from the Geronimo Stilton series, written by the Italian author Elisabetta Dami. ‘Geronimo Stilton – The Hunt for the Golden Book’ is filled with adventures and is an exciting read. The story of the book starts with the central character, Geronimo Stilton, celebrating a successful stint of 10 years of writing. Grandfather Williams throws a party to celebrate, and Geronimo decides to write a book for this occasion. However, his laptop seems to be missing. So, Geronimo and his friends embark on a journey to find his computer and print the new book, just before the party starts. The book captures the interest of young readers and also provides them a bonus read at the end. There is an extra mini mystery at the end of the book, named ‘The Lake Monster’ that has an equally exciting storyline.

Essay on My Favourite Book: My Favourite Book Essay for Class 4

I am very fond of reading books and one of my recent favourites is ‘BFG’ by Roald Dahl. The story starts with a little girl named Sophie being kidnapped by a big friendly giant (BFG) from the orphanage where she stays. She had seen him blowing good dreams into the windows of children that night.

Although she thought she would be eaten by the giant, he was not like the other giants in Giant Country who gobbled up little children. The BFG was a nice and gentle giant who spent his life blowing happy dreams to little children. He spoke a funny language called gobblefunk that made me laugh out loud throughout the book! It’s not surprising that Sophie also loved the way he spoke.

Soon, BFG and Sophie become friends and he takes her to Dream Country where they catch and bottle dreams and nightmares. Sophie also has another adventure with some of the dangerous giants in Giant Country. While she was hiding in a snozzcumber (a cucumber-like vegetable that BFG loved to eat), she gets accidently eaten by an evil giant named Bloodbottler. This was followed by a hilarious description of how BFG saves her from the eyes of the evil giant.

Towards the end of the book, Sophie starts a fight among the evil giants and plots a plan to imprison them with the help of the queen. She goes to Buckingham Palace where she and the BFG meet the queen and inform her about the evil man-eating giants. They eventually capture the giants and imprison them in a deep pit in London.

The book also has impressive illustrations created by Quentin Blake. These pictures add to the charm of the story and make the book a Roald Dahl masterpiece enjoyed by generations of young readers.

2. Ramayana

I love reading books. I have read many books, and am never bored when I am in the company of books.

One book that has influenced me immensely and has become my favourite is the epic Ramayana in English, written by Valmiki (Author), Arshia Sattar (Translator).  The style is simple and the book is very interesting. Once I take up this book I can’t put it down.

The book presents Lord Rama as the embodiment of virtues. We also learn about the sufferings he underwent to uphold his principles. Devi Sita is a devoted wife, ready to undergo any hardship or suffering for her husband.

Bharata is a glorious example of a good brother. He is an embodiment of respect and sacrifice. His love for Rama has no parallel.

There are many other characters in the book and each one plays an important role in the development of the story. Jatayu is one such key character. Hanuman is another. Both were loyal and devoted to Lord Rama.

The Ramayana upholds basic human values such as devotion, loyalty and service, and condemns lowly qualities like avarice, selfishness, and greed for power. This is a book that can be read for a truly spiritual experience.

I have read and re-read it many times. It refreshes my mind and inspires my soul each time.

Essay on My Favourite Book: My Favourite Book Essay for Class 5

1. the magic of the lost temple.

I love reading and one of my favourite books is ‘The Magic of the Lost Temple’ by Sudha Murthy. The book tells the story of twelve-year old Nooni who goes to spend a summer vacation with her grandparents in a village. Nooni is a curious child and she has an urge to abstract information at all times. This sets the scene for a thrilling mystery at the beginning of the book.

Since Nooni stays in Bangalore with her parents, the shift to the village life is enchanting. She finds joy in playing with her cousins, savouring the food cooked by her grandmother, and living the carefree lifestyle led by the villagers. I particularly enjoyed the narration that makes you feel like you are listening to a story told by your grandmother.

Soon Nooni finds a mysterious ancient stepwell in the midst of a forest. She tries to find the secret behind the stepwell with her friends.

‘The Magic of the Lost Temple’ appeals to children and adults alike, as it weaves a story around the uncomplicated life in a rural village. The book also makes a point on issues of social relevance, such as the importance of toilets in villages, the need to give back to the community, and the respect one should have for heritage sites.

I also liked the illustrations in the book; these were in perfect harmony with the characters sketched out by the author. In a nutshell, this is a heartwarming tale of how Nooni experiences the real value of the simple things in life. This is what makes it a memorable read for me.

A good work of literature is the outcome of years of dedication from the author. I generally like books which have stood the test of time and to which succeeding generations provide their seal of approval. I have read a number of books and there are several which are my favourite. This includes the tragedies of Shakespeare, the novels of Charles Dickens and the plays of George Bernard Shaw.

But there is one book that I particularly enjoy reading and that is the great drama, ‘Macbeth’, by Shakespeare.

Macbeth is the story of an ambitious man and an equally ambitious woman, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth respectively. They commit the murder of King Duncan in their own castle, so that Macbeth could become the King.

Macbeth takes over as the King of Scotland and his wife, Lady Macbeth, becomes the queen. After the first murder, Macbeth plans the murder of his chieftain Banquo, Lady Macduff, and her son, because they are closely related to his enemy Macduff.

The characters of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are very beautifully sketched by Shakespeare. The chief attraction lies in the character of Lady Macbeth.

The instincts that are usually associated with femininity, i.e., motherhood and compassion, are strikingly absent in Lady Macbeth. Instead, she appears to be an ambitious and ruthless person with an insatiable desire for power.

Macbeth teaches us the great moral lesson that the wage of sin is death. Those who take to wrong and immoral courses, like Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, will surely find grief in the course of life. Virtue will surely be rewarded.

3. My Experiments with Truth

We know that food is important for a healthy body. Similarly books are important for a healthy mind. Books are our true friends. They help us understand the world around us. Through books we are able to study the thoughts of different people.

Though I have read many books written by acclaimed authors, “My Experiments with Truth” is my favourite book. It was written by  Mahatma Gandhi , the Father of the Nation. I like the book because of several reasons.

It tells us about the life of the great man who got us freedom from the British. It has been written in a simple and easy-to-understand style. It is very interesting and keeps the reader gripped from beginning to end.

My Experiments with Truth is full of intriguing incidents and moral lessons. Gandhi narrates the stories of  King Harish Chandra  and  Shravan Kumar,  that have influenced him greatly. It is eye opening to read how this great man fought against untouchability and racial discrimination. My Experiments with Truth is a great book indeed!

Essay 1 (250 Words) – My Favourite Book: Panchatantra

Introduction

Being our best friends, books provide us with knowledge about the whole world. I have read many books. Some of them are my course books and some are the storybooks which my parents have bought for me.

My Favourite Book

My favorite book is Panchatantra. It is written by Vishnu Sharma. The book contains a collection of many stories. The writer has tried to give the moral of life by the activity of animals. I am very fond of reading storybooks and this book provided me with different types of stories.

The story of stork and crab shows the presence of the mind and intelligence of the crab. The stork could not search for his food when he became old and therefore had made a plan. He stood sad and depressed near the pond and when fish and crab asked the reason for his sadness, he made a fake story that the pond will be inhabited by people to grow crops. All the fishes, frogs, and crabs were convinced by his story. Later when it was the chance of crab to be killed and eaten by the stork, the situation was reversed. Crab used his intelligence and could guess the real motive of the stork. He escaped by killing the stork.

The book contains several stories like Monkey and crocodile, Elephant and mice, loyal mongoose, etc. There are many stories in the book and they focus on the qualities like friendship, courage, intelligence, presence of mind, and unity.

The book Panchatantra is one of my favorite storybooks. I was very happy after reading this book for the first time. The stories are fascinating as well as teach us some morals of life.

Essay 2 (400 Words) – My Favourite Book: Mahabharata

There are hundreds of books we come through while reading. Every book provides us with knowledge and interesting facts. There are some books which inspire us and we feel it to be the best book we have ever read.

Elucidation of My Favourite Book

My favorite book is Mahabharata. I did not know anything about this epic before I read the book. I received this book as my birthday gift from my grandparents. At first, when I opened the book, it appeared to be a little boring. I kept the book as it is in my drawer. Later when the serial Mahabharata was casted on television, I started getting interested in the story. Since it was casted a little on one day and I wanted to know about the whole story soon. Therefore I started reading the book.

Mahabharata is one of the major epics of Hindus in Sanskrit. It has been written by Maharishi Ved Vyas. The epic contains 10000 shlokas. The main story depicted by this epic is based on the battle between Pandavas and Kauravas for getting the throne of Hastinapur. The battle was fought in Kurukshetra.

Story in Brief

The book mainly focuses on the story of Kauravas and Pandavas. Dhritarashtra and Pandu were two brothers. Since Dhritarashtra was blind so Pandu became the ruler. Duryodhana was the eldest of hundred sons (Kaurwas) of Dhritarashtra and Yudhistir, Bheem, Arjuna, Nakul, and Sehdev were five sons of Pandu. Duryodhana invited Pandavas to play the game with him. The Pandavas accepted the offer of their cousin’s brother and came to play. They lost the game and also Draupadi called “Panchali”.

As a result, they have to spend 13 years of exile period. After they completed the period of exile, they returned to Indraprastha. Duryodhana refused to hand over Hastinapur to Pandavas. This led them to fight the battle for justice and dharma. Later the Pandavas won the battle by defeating Kauravas.

Bhagavad Gita – Arjun was not ready to fight the battle against his close relatives. The Enlightenment and knowledge which Lord Krishna imparted during the battle to Arjun came to be known as Bhagavad Gita. It is the storehouse of knowledge. It is part of the Great Epic Mahabharata.

It consists of 18 chapters consisting of 700 shlokas. It teaches us spiritual lessons along with important lessons of life.

Lord Krishna says that it is the body only that dies not the soul. The soul leaves one body and occupies a new body. It has been explained in Gita that one should be hard working without thinking of the results. There is no substitute for hard work. The life of man is full of struggles and men should face all these with a firm determination.

I love the story of Mahabharata. This book helps us in solving the problems of our life. In the story of Mahabharata, every character has an important role and we can learn different things from their life.

Essay 3 (500 – 600 Words) – My Favourite Book: Ramayana

Reading books is a good habit. It inculcates knowledge and moral values in us. Every one of us should have a good reading habit. Books are like our companions. Books are the storehouse of knowledge and we can obtain the knowledge to develop a passion for reading us.

I have read many books. I am very fond of reading novels and storybooks. My favorite book is Ramayana. It is the greatest Epic after Mahabharata written by Rishi Valmiki. It is the holy book of Hindus.

Story of Ramayana

The great epic Ramayana illustrates the story of Lord Rama. He was the son of Ayodhya King Dasharatha. King Dasharatha had four sons from his three wives namely Ram, Lakshman, Bharata, Shatrughan. There was a lot of love and affection between the brothers.

All four of them left Ayodhya the first time to gain an education. They completed their education and returned to Ayodhya. Further, they all were married. Lord Ram was married to Sita. Lord Ram has to leave his family and go to exile for a period of 14 years, following the orders of his mother Kaikeyi. He left to spend his exile period with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman.

In the jungle, Sita was kidnapped by the Demon King Ravana. Lord Ram defeated Ravana and rescued his wife back to Ayodhya. Then only Ram was conferred as King of Ayodhya. He saved the lives of many saints by punishing the evil characters. He was the ideal king for his people of kingdom Ayodhya. He took care of his people and sometimes went into the public by changing his identity to know the real scenario. He would hear to everybody in his kingdom and did justice.

Lesson from the Life of Different Characters of Ramayana

  • Lord Ram – He was an ideal son for his father, mother, and country, ideal husband for his wife Sita, an Ideal brother, and Ideal king for the public of his kingdom.
  • Lakshman – He was an Ideal brother and took care of his elder brother Ram. All of the brothers had a lot of love and affection for each other.
  • Bharata – He was an ideal brother. It has been stated that when Lord Ram went to exile for 14 years, Bharata has kept the slippers of his elder brother on the throne and did not accept the throne as a king. He also had sacrificed the pleasures of the palace and resided in a small hut. These things represent the respect and love of a brother.
  • Sita – Lord Ram was married to Sita. She was an ideal wife. She went along with Lord Ram for the exile period. She stated that – How could a wife enjoy all pleasures of life when the husband has to go for exile period? She always stood with her husband in good or bad times of life.
  • Shabri – Her character is also an important character as a great Devotee of Ram. She spread the flowers and selected berries daily to welcome Lord Ram and finally her wish was fulfilled. In the same way, we should not lose hope till the end and try our best.
  • All other characters were also great like Hanuman the greatest devotee of Lord Ram, all the mothers of Lord Ram, wife of all four brothers, Jatayu, etc.

Moral Derived after Reading the Book

  • We must be brave and courageous in our life with a high spirit.
  • Life has both phases i.e. happiness and grief. We must be readily accepting both phases of life.
  • This epic teaches us to respect our elders and teachers. We should listen and follow what they say.
  • We learn that evil or wrong deeds never give a better result. We should use our energy in a positive direction to achieve success. As the demon Ravana took away Maa Sita by betrayal, therefore, was punished. Instead of being a person with intellect, he did not use his mind and energy in a positive direction.

Libraries are like a goldmine of books just waiting for someone to pick them up and go on an adventure. So, whether you’re reading under your blanket with a flashlight or chilling by the fire, books are your key to fun and learning. In this article, we will be providing an essay on my favourite book.

500 Word Essay on My Favourite Book

One of the most mind-bending yet fascinating books I’ve ever read is A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. This groundbreaking work by one of the world’s most brilliant theoretical physicists explores the fundamental questions about the origins and nature of our universe. What makes this book so captivating is how Hawking takes enormously complex concepts from physics and cosmology and translates them into relatively understandable language for the average reader. He has an exceptional talent for using clever analogies and thought experiments to shed light on counterintuitive realities about space, time, and the evolution of the cosmos.

A central focus of the book is Hawking’s quest, along with many other physicists, to develop a unified theory that reconciles the principles of Einstein’s general theory of relativity, which describes the laws of gravity that govern the motion of large objects like planets and galaxies, with the very different rules of quantum mechanics, which regulate the behavior of subatomic particles. Marrying these two disparate understandings into one all-encompassing model is one of the biggest unsolved challenges in modern physics.

Hawking does a masterful job explaining mind-bending phenomena like gravitational singularities at the core of black holes, the possibility that time itself may have had a beginning with the initial fireball of the Big Bang, and the counterintuitive quantum effects like fields of negative energy. He explores cutting-edge theories like supergravity, supersymmetry, and string theory that strive to incorporate quantum mechanics into a broader fabric with gravitation. While the farthest depths of theoretical physics can cross into realms that seem completely detached from human experience, Hawking always finds a way to ground the concepts through illustrative examples and connections to observable phenomena. His famous image of a pool table as an analogy for describing the curvature of space-time in the presence of matter is just one example of his knack for elucidation.

A Brief History of Time such an engaging read is Hawking’s ability to translate the abstract mathematical laws that govern the universe into a captivating philosophical exploration. By taking readers on a journey through the evolution of celestial mechanics and cosmology, he simultaneously highlights how little we truly understand about the origins and behavior of our universe while celebrating how much we’ve been able to unravel through science. It’s a delicate balance of illuminating the known and acknowledging the limits of human knowledge that makes this book a modern classic.

800 Word Essay on My Favourite Book

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is one of those rare books that becomes an instant classic the moment you read it. It’s a philosophical novel disguised as a simple journey, following an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago as he travels from Spain to the Egyptian pyramids in pursuit of a treasure buried near the Pyramids. But the beauty of The Alchemist lies in the timeless lessons and wisdom it imparts along the way. On one level, it is a thrilling adventure story full of omens, mythical encounters, and narrow escapes as Santiago leaves his homeland in search of his “Personal Legend” or life’s purpose. Coelho manages to infuse the simple plot with profound insights into following your dreams, listening to your heart, recognizing and pursuing your destiny, and being open to the obscure forces that can guide you along the way if you remain aware and present.

One of the core themes is the idea that we are all capable of achieving our most desired goals and destinies by being attuned to the “beginners’ mind” and seeing the simple wonders and lessons present all around us. As Santiago journeys, he has his spiritual eyes opened by chance meetings with a mysterious old man, a departed soul in the desert, and finally an enlightened alchemist who becomes his mentor. The alchemist schools Santiago on understanding “The Soul of the World” and embracing what the old man calls “the principle that governs all things.” Coelho masterfully takes the concepts of alchemy, omens, the language of the universe, and the transformative wisdom of listening to one’s heart, and makes them accessible to modern readers through Santiago’s fable-like travels and awakenings.

Much of the book’s beauty and wisdom comes through the simple conversations and parables voiced by the spiritual figures Santiago encounters on his travels. The alchemist teaches Santiago that pursuing your Personal Legend is not an easy path but is the only way to be truly fulfilled. He says, “There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”

The book has a way of gently ushering you through barriers and fears, leaving you with a calm confidence and peace about following your heart’s calling. Sometimes it hits you over the head with powerful affirmations like: “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” Other times it sneaks up on you through simple interactions or metaphors, such as the alchemist’s explanation of transforming lead into gold representing the process of pursuing your legend and becoming your authentic self. Throughout the journey, Coelho’s writing is clear and simple yet stunningly profound. It has the magical quality of a timeless parable yet feels modern and unfailingly relevant. His descriptions of nature, the desert, and cities like Tangier have the tone of fabled odysseys but are fresh and vibrant.

In the end, The Alchemist is a story of self-discovery, a celebration of intuition and overcoming one’s fears, and a call to live life in a state of sublime awareness and openness to the omens that can lead you toward your own Personal Legend. It’s a short book that can be devoured in one sitting yet deserves to be read and re-read many times, as layers of wisdom and truth reveal themselves with each new reading at different stages of your life’s journey.

With deceptive simplicity and poeticism, Coelho inspires you to view the world, your heart’s desires, and life’s symbolic omens through fresh eyes. He leaves you awakened and empowered to pursue your dreams in a deep and transcendent way. It’s a novel that becomes a personal milestone, a guide to living life with sacred awareness and courage. For these reasons and many more, it is a book that has profoundly impacted me and will always remain one of my absolute favorites.

My Favourite Subject Essay - 100, 200, 500 Words

Essay on my favourite subject -.

A subject refers to a branch of knowledge or a specific topic studied in school or university. It can be a physical science, such as physics or chemistry, a social science, such as history or economics, or a humanities subject, such as literature or art. A favourite subject is a personal preference, it is the subject that someone particularly enjoys or has a strong interest in, and they might find it more enjoyable or easier to learn. It can be different for each person and can change over time.

100 Words On My Favourite Subject

My favourite subject is English Literature . The power of language has always fascinated me, and the way it can evoke emotions, paint vivid images in my mind, and tell captivating stories. Reading classic works of literature, like Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" and William Shakespeare's "Hamlet," is a window into different cultures and societies. I find it particularly interesting to study the historical and cultural context in which these works were written and to analyse the themes and symbolism used by the authors.

English Literature also allows me to improve my critical thinking skills as I learn to analyse texts and identify patterns. It encourages me to develop my own opinions and interpretations. Studying English Literature has helped me to become a better communicator and to express my ideas more effectively.

200 Words Essay On My Favourite Subject

My favourite subject is mathematics. Mathematics is not just a subject but a tool to understand and solve problems in real life. The subject requires critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity . It is a subject that can be applied to many other fields, such as physics, engineering, and economics.

Why Mathematics Is My Favourite Subject

Mathematics has always been my favourite subject because of its logical approach. I love the way mathematical concepts can be explained in a clear and concise manner, making it easy to understand. The subject also has a wide range of applications and is constantly evolving, providing new challenges and opportunities for learning.

One of my favourite areas in mathematics is calculus, which deals with the study of change. Calculus provides a framework for analysing how things change and how we can understand and predict their behaviour. This is a subject that has revolutionised many fields, from engineering to economics, and has had a profound impact on our understanding of the world around us.

In addition to its practical applications, mathematics is also a beautiful and elegant subject. There is a sense of satisfaction in solving a mathematical problem, especially when it is difficult. I love the way mathematical concepts can be related to each other, providing a deeper understanding and a broader perspective.

500 Words Essay On My Favourite Subject

History is a fascinating subject that has always been my favourite. From learning about the great civilisations of the past to exploring the events that have shaped the world we live in today, I find history to be both captivating and incredibly important.

Why I Love History

I have always been drawn to the stories and personalities of the past. From the bravery of soldiers in battle to the cunning of political leaders, I love learning about how people have interacted with each other and with the world around them throughout history. Additionally, I find it fascinating to see how different cultures and societies have evolved over time and how these changes have shaped the world we live in today.

The Importance and Significance of History

History is much more than just a collection of old stories and dates. By studying our past, we gain a better insight into the world we live in today. Studying history also gives us the opportunity to learn from the failures and successes of the past so that we can shape the future in a more positive direction.

For example, by learning about the causes of past wars and conflicts, we can work to prevent similar events from happening in the future. Similarly, by studying the rise and fall of different civilisations, we can gain insights into how societies can thrive or decline.

History also plays a vital role in shaping our identities and cultural heritage. By learning about our own history and the history of those around us, we can better understand our place in the world and our connection to others.

The Origin of History

The origins of history can be traced back to ancient civilisations, such as the Romans and Greeks, who recorded their own histories in works such as Herodotus' "The Histories" and Livy's "The History of Rome" . These early histories were often written with a political or moral purpose in mind, but they laid the foundation for the more impartial and analytical approach to history that we have today.

Real-Life Applications of History

The study of history has a wide range of real-life applications. For example, it is an essential tool for understanding the political and social issues of our own time. By studying the events and policies of the past, we can gain a better understanding of the complex systems and processes that shape the world we live in.

Additionally, history plays an important role in many fields, such as archaeology, law, and education. For example, archaeologists use history to understand the context and significance of the artefacts they uncover, while lawyers use historical precedent to make decisions in court. Furthermore, history is a vital part of our education system, as it helps us to understand the world we live in and the events that have shaped it.

I believe that history is a subject that is both captivating and incredibly important. From exploring the stories of the past to gaining insights into the world we live in today, the study of history has the power to shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

Essay on my favourite season

Essay on My Favourite Season: Loving a season has no specific reason. Some might like the rainy season because it’s refreshing, while others may like the summer because it is the best time for outdoor activities. Similarly, some like the winter season so that friends and family can go for a bonfire activity. Season preference depends on one’s choice and idea of refreshments as it affects the human feel and influences behaviour.

Sample Essay On My Favourite Season in 100 Words

My favourite season is Summer. As the season is characterised by long days and short nights, there are ample daylight hours for outdoor activities. During the summer season, children in north and south India are free from school for a couple of months. They go for summer holidays to their favourite places with their parents and make these days their memorable childhood memories.

Summertime brings refreshing and water-packed food like muskmelon, cucumber, and peaches. These nourishments help the body get hydrated and benefit the body. Also, we get to enjoy ice cream, cold drinks, and other chilled refreshments. So, I enjoy this season thoroughly with friends and family while enjoying refreshing fruits and drinks.

Sample Essay On My Favourite Season in 200 Words

My favourite season is Winter . After the scorching heat of summer, winter arrives and brings pleasant changes to the weather. The cool breeze of the winter season carries a hint of freshness and brings comfort.

During the winter season, nature undergoes a subtle transformation. Trees shed their leaves, and the surroundings appear peaceful. Mornings are misty and create a magical ambience, especially in areas with diverse topography.

Winter brings festival time to India and among them, Diwali is a major celebration. The festival comes with lights, decorations, and a spirit of togetherness. All these warming features make the festival a joyous occasion for families and friends.

One of the highlights of the winter season is the nourishing warm and comforting foods. From hot tea to traditional delicacies like gajar ka halwa and makki ki roti, adds a delicious experience to the winter season in northern India.

Also, the winter season brings snowfall possibilities in higher altitudes in northern parts of India. Besides, people also eagerly wait for the arrival of migratory birds in sanctuaries. The arrival of birds from faraway lands increases the diversity and adds richness to the biodiversity of that particular area.

Altogether, the winter season brings delightfulness and festive celebrations. A unique mix of cultural and natural experiences makes the winter season my favourite time of the year.

Spring Season brings a world of wonder and joy. Winter birds bid farewell and spring arrives with a burst of colours and peaceful nature. The air carries warmth and gentleness which transforms the world into a magical place.

During the spring season, the flowers bloom in vibrant colours and carpet the earth with beautiful flowers. In this season, we witness blossoms of cherries, daffodils, and tulips. These flowers create a breathtaking sight and turn the gardens into a palette of a painter.

Further, the mild temperature of Spring allows one to spend more time outdoors, playing in the sunshine and exploring the natural world. The trees that were bare once, adorn themselves with fresh green leaves, creating a canopy that dances in the breeze.

One of the most admiring things about the spring season is the return of birds. They come back from their winter migration and fill the air with cheerful sons. These chirping beautiful songs of birds are like a melody that lifts the spirits and brings a sense of harmony to the surroundings.

Spring is a time of new life and beginnings. Animal babies like lambs and chicks are born during the spring season and add a touch of innocence and playfulness to the season. Watching these young newborns taking their first steps is a heartwarming experience that reminds us of the beauty of life´s cycle.

As we walk through parks or simply gaze out of our windows, we see colourful butterflies and bees busy pollinating flowers. It is like nature seems to come alive with activity and creates a vibrant ecosystem.

Thus, spring is a season that fills our hearts with joy and wonder. It is a time for nature and spirits to blossom. The beautiful colours, fragrances, and lively sounds of the spring season make it a truly enchanting and magical season that we look forward to every year.
