• These can also make nice visual aids if you are asked to present your essay.

• A list might be full of things like babysitting, attending a camp, working at a local store, taking a road trip, etc. This type of brainstorming can help you pick major events and other important moments from your summer.

• For example, maybe you spent your summer traveling around Japan. Think of a memorable moment you had while traveling — maybe you walked up a mountain in the pouring rain — and write about this moment, adding lots of details.

• Just like every year, my last summer vacation was spent in my village with other elder people in my family.
• My native place is Gujarat. Every year we go to the native place to spend our summer vacations over there.
• The general stay for all of us is about 20-25 days.
• The days spent over there are always fun filled with many different activities happening around.
• For my last summer vacation, there were many close relatives with many fun filled moments with it.

          After the final exams, every student waits for that one thing to arrive. The arrival of summer vacations. For every summer vacation, almost all families go to different destinations as per their rituals. 

          I spent my last summer vacation in my native place with my other close relatives. The time spent with all the older people in the native place gives different kinds of happiness. The nature present over there gives us the freshness of mind along with the chance to live in a pollution free environment.

          The lives over here are very busy and hectic for all, to have some holiday from daily life summer vacations are the best time of year.

          Last year during our stay in native place, there were many different activities done by all of us which is not possible over here. We as a group of all cousins used to roam around the village and used to look out for different objects not seen in city life. The whole family used to gather for lunch and dinner together with chit-chats and find a filled atmosphere.

          In the village, we had a great time playing with animals and learning their routines. We got the chance to travel in different kinds of vehicles in place of cars and bikes. 

             The nights in the village used to come with a different beautiful scene of a starry night sky. The gazing of stars is one of my favourite things about the village.

             Overall, it was a beautiful experience of summer vacation spent in the village. I wish to always have a similar kind of experience for each summer vacation.

We all had a terrific time despite the bad weather. I had my first experience with animals up close. I had a lot of memories from camp. I used my summer break to spend more time with my family and myself than I could have during the school year. I came to see how productive and fulfilling spending vacations at home truly was.

Additionally, this provides them with much-needed relief from the sweltering heat. My Visit to a Hill Station

This year, our family decided to take a summer vacation to a hill station. The visual splendour of several attractive locations in India is well-known, including Mussoorie, Ooty, Wilson Hills, Kufri, Nainital, Manali, Kerala, and Rishikesh. We debated which hill station to visit for a while before deciding on Shimla.

Our Trip to Shimla

My family and I drove to Shimla in our car and arrived early in the morning. We then proceeded right away to the hotel that we had reserved. Shimla has everything to entice travellers, from opulent hotels to gorgeous settings, and mall lanes to retail streets teeming with people from many cultures.

The tour was scheduled to last five days. We visited Mall Road and Jhaku Hills, two of the city's most popular tourist destinations, on the evening of our first day of travel. There are several events taking place there in the evening. Experiencing Shimla's nightlife was also incredible. We went to the Footloose Discotheque, which was packed with lively people and humming with wonderful music.

We rode the toy train the next day. This miniature train travels between Kalka and Shimla. Only 3 such trains operate in our country, and this one is one of them. Even though they move slowly, passing through them is fun. Skiing and bungee jumping were among the winter sports we engaged in that evening.

The next days were spent travelling to towns close to Shimla including Chail, Kufri, and Chitkul. Along with admiring their stunning natural beauty, these locations may be visited for some snowy adventure.

For foodies like myself, Shimla is also a nice treat. Shimla's cuisine is peculiar in that there is no middle ground, with little eateries serving just quick food, fine restaurants serving costly booze, and cafés serving a range of teas and cold beverages. Indulgent salami burgers were what we enjoyed on weekdays on our evening stroll.

We used to become exhausted in the evening after all these days full of activity, but the nightlife there or just gazing up at the stars made us feel really happy and re-energized. Curvy roads force one to see those beautiful hills from all directions, big trees that are standing erect, and that brisk air that exalts one's spirit and emotions.

After five days in Shimla, full of enjoyment, we returned to Delhi. This trip's memories are still fresh in my mind and I have taken many pictures to show to my friends. Shimla is unquestionably the queen of the hill towns. I’m definitely looking forward to the next time we visit.

The school session begins in March. It also earmarks the end of the spring season. As time passes, we enter the summer season in the next few months. The advent of summer brings hot days and a humid climate. It is really hard for the students to continue school in the scorching heat. Everyone seems to be exhausted due to hot summer days. It is then the school declares summer holidays so that the students and their parents can relax for a few days. Summer vacation is the time of happiness for students as their families plan a trip to a hill station to get rid of the heat.

India is a tropical country that suffers from extreme heat and humidity during March, April, May, and mid of June. The temperature ranges from 32 to 40°C in some states falling in the tropical region. Before the rainy season starts, the scorching sun exhausts everyone. Every day becomes unbearable to go out and meet with the responsibilities. This is why a summer vacation is so important for all family members. We decided to go to Sikkim, one of the best northeastern states in India as a getaway from the summer days.

Sikkim welcomed us with a soothing cool atmosphere. We breathed fresh air after a long time and felt rejuvenated on the very first hour in Gangtok. The place is situated amidst the lower ranges of the Himalaya. The small clouds were hiding the sunrays and gave us the best feel we waited for an entire year. My father booked a hotel with an excellent view. We received a warm welcome from the management and got our rooms to stay in. On that very day, we started to scout the different locations of the capital city.

The next day, we started unwinding our stressful life. We went to Yumthang, a serene valley known for flowers and yaks grazing on the meadows. The best time to visit this place is in March-April. Teesta river flows amidst this valley providing an excellent view. The panoramic view is adorned with snow-capped mountains and green flora. It was then I realized how beautiful Mother Earth can be. This valley is also known as the Valley of Flowers. Rhododendron puts a new colour to this heavenly place.

The next day we proceeded to Tsomgo Lake. It is one of the best glacial lakes in India that provides a beautiful scene. The entire place is covered with snow at a height of 12,400 feet above sea level. The winding roads with hairpin turns took us to this place. The journey was fascinating as we travelled on a car crossing one mountain after the other. The lake was calm and quiet with many people present in the location. We also took photos while riding yaks.

Our next destination was Zero Point. It is locally known as Yume Samdong. Located at a height of 15,300 feet above the sea level, this is the last place where people dwell. Beyond this point, there are no roads. It is a valley surrounded by mountains where three rivers meet. The snow here is quite deep. We had difficulty breathing in this place due to its height and lack of oxygen but it passed within a few minutes. It is true that this place resembles the beauty of Switzerland. This is where we enjoyed a lot on the vast snow-capped valley. We made snowballs and threw them.

It was a brilliant adventure. The journey was quite rejuvenating and refreshing for all the family members. We felt sad while returning from Sikkim. I will wait for the next summer vacation to visit this state again.

Besides, we indulge in various indoor and outdoor activities. We go for morning walks and evening strolls, we play, have street food and also visit the nearby malls accompanied by our elders.

We are all also made to sit for around two-three hours each day to study. It is much better than studying alone. Though we look for excuses to skip these study sessions, they are actually not that bad. We get yummy refreshments during this time and also get to giggle and whisper in between that makes these sessions fun.

I love the way my aunts pamper me. The presence of my aunts in the house also means that we get a variety of delectable foods each day. They all have good culinary skills and we love the items cooked by them.
