#Lesson1PalmSunday

During this Palm Sunday KS2 lesson, your Year 4 class will be taken back to Jerusalem as they find out about the reception Jesus received when he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. They will find out why Christians celebrate Palm Sunday with palm crosses and consider what it might have felt like to be part of the crowd during Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem.

This Palm Sunday lesson planning pack comes with all the teaching resources you need to deliver this lesson, including a lesson plan, a slideshow for the teaching input, differentiated activity ideas, and a range of printable resources to support children during their independent learning activities.

What's included:

  • Lesson plan
  • Activity ideas
  • Differentiated worksheets

#Lesson2TheLastSupper

This The Last Supper KS2 lesson will help your Year 4 children find out how Jesus spent his last meal with his disciples in the days leading up to his crucifixion, and how he used the bread and wine to explain to his friends what was going to happen to him. Your class will then find out how Christians remember this special evening with communion today.

The Last Supper lesson planning pack comes fully prepared with a downloadable lesson plan, a slideshow for the whole-class input, differentiated activity ideas, and a range of printable teaching resources.

  • Information sheet

#Lesson3TheGardenofGethsemane

This Garden of Gethsemane lesson teaches your Year 4 class about the events leading up to Jesus' arrest and looks at how Jesus was let down by his disciples in his time of need. Your children can then consider how different characters in the story might have been feeling and why some of the disciples acted in the way that they did.

A detailed lesson plan, engaging slideshow presentation, differentiated activity ideas, and a set of printable resources are all included in this ready-to-teach Garden of Gethsemane lesson plan pack for KS2, leaving you free to teach a great RE lesson without having to spend hours on planning!

#Lesson4TheCrucifixion

Your Year 4 class will learn about Jesus' meeting with Pilate and the events surrounding his crucifixion in this KS2 RE lesson as they find out how and where Jesus was put to death. The included slideshow presentation goes through the story surrounding the crucifixion and challenges children's ideas about how different characters might have been feeling, and their own thoughts about life after death.

During their independent learning time, they can then study some different paintings portraying the crucifixion and discuss their thoughts and feelings surrounding this difficult part of the story of Easter.

  • Picture cards
  • Question cards
  • Acrostic poem template

#Lesson5TheResurrection

This Year 4 RE lesson tells the story of Jesus' burial and resurrection, and investigates the emotions of Jesus' friends and family when they realise he was raised from the dead. It also challenges children to consider their own ideas about what happens when someone dies before looking at the Christian beliefs in life after death.

This Resurrection KS2 lesson pack comes with an easy-to-follow lesson plan, an engaging slideshow presentation for the whole-class teaching input, differentiated activity ideas, and a range of printable resources.

#Lesson6HolyWeek

In this Holy Week KS2 RE lesson, your Year 4 class will consolidate their understanding of the events in the week leading up to Jesus' resurrection, as well as looking at Christian beliefs in Jesus as the Messiah, reading the story of Mary Magdalene as an example.

The slideshow presentation enables you to go through the teaching points and questions as a class, before children are challenged to work independently to express their understanding of the key events of Holy Week.

This downloadable Holy Week lesson planning pack comes with a lesson plan, slideshow presentation, differentiated activity ideas, and a range of printable resources.

Thanks, Linda!

Great resource, just what I was looking for, thank you

You're welcome, Emma!

I love using the planbee products and love that it now has the option to pay a monthly subscription that I make use of. The only thing I would make it 5 star for would be to allow subscribers to download the resources like other subscription retailers. This would make my life easier as I work with a year group partner and would need planning on our drive t o have access to and to print.

We're so pleased to hear that, Jemma! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and give us your feedback on our new subscription service :-)

Clear and colourful 📚

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review Karen. :)

Year 4 Easter Holiday Homework

  • Please make sure that you continue to read regularly over the Easter break. Record any reading that you do in your Reading Record and ask for it to be signed by an adult.

There will be a prize for the children who read every day and fully complete their Reading Record.

  • Complete at least 2 of the times tables grids. Everyone is really improving the speed and accuracy of their times tables, but regular practise is still very important. Remember to time yourself and try and beat your previous time!
  • Practise the spelling list that you have taken home. This can be done on a ‘Look, Cover, Write, Check’ sheet, or in your homework book.
  • Our science topic after Easter will be ‘Electricity’. In your homework book, create a one page fact file about electricity. This should include some interesting facts and some pictures. It can be presented however you would like.

Working together, learning together.

  • Year 4 Easter Holidays Homework
  • Class Pages
  • Year 4 2021-22

Good Morning Everyone!

As it is you Easter Holidays, I won’t be posting daily tasks for you to complete.

However, I do have a challenge for you to complete over the next couple of weeks!

* TIME CAPSULE CHALLENGE*

A time capsule is something which captures memories for us to look back on in the future. Since this is such a different time which we will think about for a long time, I thought it would be a great time to create a time capsule.

Find a box or envelope to store your memories in. You could use your plastic folder which you were given with your Home Learning books.

Add memories into the box with your family. I have included some ideas below.

  • A photo, drawing or painting of your family.
  • A newspaper article
  • A poster all about you – what is your favourite colour, band, tv programme etc?
  • A short diary entry explaining how you feel, what you are enjoying about being at home and what you are missing about school.
  • What you are doing to keep busy
  • An Interview with your grownups
  • A letter from your parents
  • An Easter craft, painting, card or photo
  • What kind of things you are doing to stay connected – rainbows in windows, video calling family, writing letters, clapping for Key workers etc.

Decide as a family when you will look at the Time Capsule again (e.g. 1 year, 5 years or even longer!) Ask a grown up to hide it somewhere safe in the house.

Have fun! This should be an exciting task for all of the family! Add anything into the box that you want to. This is  your  Family Time Capsule.

Happy Easter!
