Creating your own custom notebook labels is an easy and fun way to personalize your notebooks, making them both unique and functional. Whether you’re prepping for a new school year, organizing your office supplies, or just adding a touch of personal flair to your stationery, our custom labels are the perfect solution.

Free personalized name labels for school for teachers, parents, and students. Use them on notebooks, drawers, boxes, stationery, to label school supplies, etc. You can customize all the text. Either print on label paper or regular paper and adhere with paper glue or glue stick.

You can use each printable label for a different purpose since each one can be customized with different text.

Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Custom Notebook Labels:

• Design Your Labels: Start by selecting any of the templates above and edit the text.
• Down The File : Once you’ve perfected your design, download the file to your computer.
• Sticker Paper: For a hassle-free application, print your labels on sticker paper. This allows you to simply peel off the backing and adhere the label directly to your notebook. It’s quick, clean, and saves you the step of using additional adhesive.
• Regular Paper: If you don’t have sticker paper, no worries! You can print your labels on standard paper. Once printed, use a pair of scissors to cut out your labels.
• If Using Sticker Paper: Simply peel and stick onto your notebook. It’s that easy!
• If Using Regular Paper: Apply a thin layer of paper glue to the back of your cut-out label and position it on your notebook. Press down firmly to ensure it adheres well. This method is just as effective, though it takes a bit more time than using sticker paper.

Tips for Best Results:

• Ensure your printer settings are adjusted to the highest quality for crisp, vibrant labels.
• If using paper glue, spread it evenly to avoid bumps and keep your labels looking smooth.

With these simple steps, you can create beautiful, durable notebook labels personalized with your text and with or without a photo!

Interactive Notebook Labels: FREE Printables

Label your school notebooks by subject with free notebook cover labels.

Looking for free printables to help you organize your notebooks, so you can quickly visually differentiate between subjects?  I’ve created two sets of FREE school subject labels, one sized for standard spiral notebooks, and one for bound composition books. They’re perfect for interactive notebooks, or just for everyday school notebooks.

These free interactive notebook labels are black-and-white, so super inexpensive to print at home — and they’re already formatted to print centered on an 8.5″ x 11″ printer paper at just the right size. You could jazz up your organizational game by printing on bright colored paper , too, if you wanted. All you need to do after printing is cut out the labels around the bold black border, then glue on to the front cover of the notebook.

Each set of school subject notebook cover labels contains 23 different options —

Why the term interactive notebook ?

This is a common term for when lapbooking and notebooking elements are glued into bound composition books or spiral notebooks, rather than glued onto file folders, loose cardstock, or organized into three-ring-binders. To tame the paper dragon, I’m a huge fan of this neat and tidy organizational method. Long live interactive notebooks!

These printables can be used to label any type of school composition book or spiral notebook.

You don’t have to utilize interactive notebooking or lapbooking in your homeschool or classroom to use these school subject labels, of course. They’re simply a great way to easily tell notebooks apart. Our math notebooks, for example, won’t have any fancy glued elements inside; they’re used for scratch paper, and for showing work. (Although, the other day, my daughter did write the phrase “work is unshowable…I just knew it”. Sound familiar? But at least the notebook has a cute cover, ha!)

Label Obsessed!! {Free}

One of the ways I love to keep myself and my students organized is by labeling everything.  One, there’s no guesswork, two, students learn to recognize the words and what they say {bonus} and three, I am obsessed with fonts and clipart so looking at these each day makes me happy.

 Let me take a second and explain what each label is for.  Then you can use them however you want.  😉

Take Home Folder is for our daily communication folder.  This folder contains our homework calendar, spelling for 6 weeks at a time, sight word lists broken into 6 week lists, calendar for the first six weeks, lunch menu, pocket for notes from home etc.  you get the idea.  We use plastic folders with prongs.

Math Folder keeps all unfinished math work on one side and all fast finisher {when I am done} independent work on the other side.  This holds recording sheets from math centers as well.

Math Journal label for composition book of interactive activities for the year.

These two products have all my math journal activities for the year

Poems Poem folder that holds our songs and poems for each unit of study.

Must Do Folder   This is a catch all for unfinished work.  It is yellow and we call it mustard folder for fun.  Students can keep any unfinished work here.  You can use this for all subject areas.

Writing Notebook or Work on Writing   This is a spiral notebook used during our reader’s workshop.  Only one label is needed.  Just wanted to give you options 😉

Writer’s Workshop – This is for our writing pieces during our writer’s workshop.  One side has a variety of paper the other side has our work in progress and finished pieces.

Word Work- This is for unfinished work during word work.  This can be replaced by the must do folder if you don’t want a separate folder for every subject.

Rise and Shine This label is for those that want to put the rise and shine morning work into a folder rather than a binder.  Or maybe your binder doesn’t have a clear sleeve for a cover page so you need a label.  It can also go on the spine of a rise and shine binder.

Social Studies – A folder for your SS projects.

Science Folder A folder for your science projects.

Science Journal We keep a journal for science rather than a folder.  It houses everything. 

Truth be told, I don’t use all of these.  It’s too much!  I just wanted you to have options.
