In this essay about cats in English , their nature, behaviour and diet have been discussed.

Cat Paragraph in English

Cats are of three types- house cats, farm cats and feral cats. House cats are the cats we pet in our houses. Cats become good friends of humans. Unlike dogs, cats are not very active around their owners. However, they are good emotional companions to their owners. An essay on cats must emphasize the fact that cat-sitting has been proven to be therapeutic by many researchers.

Any ‘my pet cat essay for Class 6’ must include a few details about the appearance of cats. Cats have very sweet features. It has two beautiful eyes, adorably tiny paws, sharp claws, and two perky ears which are very sensitive to sounds. It has a tiny body covered with smooth fur and it has a furry tail as well. Cats have an adorable face with a tiny nose, a big mouth and a few whiskers under its nose. Cats are generally white in colour but can also be brown, black, grey, cream or buff.

Cats are omnivores. They eat vegetative items such as rice, milk, pulses, etc. as well as fish, meat, birds, mice, etc. Therefore, cats can feed on both types of food.

It is worth mentioning in this my pet cat essay for Class 6 that cats are considered sacred in several cultures such as the Japanese culture. Cats are often depicted as symbols of wit and honour. Several folklores include stories about the intelligence of cats.

Apart from being clever and sweet, cats are also skilful hunters. They use their sharp, pointed nails and canines (teeth) to kill animals like snakes, mice and also small birds. Cats are also helpful to their owners as they protect the household from rats. Thus, from this cat essay, it can be said that cats are helpful pets as well.

However, any essay on cats would be incomplete without writing about their babies. A cat offspring is called a “kitten”. Cats are very protective and caring towards their kittens. They feed the kittens and raise them. Kittens are extremely tiny and adorable as well. Their eyes open sometime after they are born. Kittens are very energetic and they spend their time playing with each other and loving their parents.

Now this cat essay will discuss the nature of cats. Cats are very lazy creatures. They usually spend their time napping and sleeping in warm places. Cats have a slow approach to their lives. They are not very energetic animals and they yawn very adorably whenever they are tired. Cats are very good friends to humans if they trust them. Cats like to sleep close to humans for their body warmth.

I have a pet cat. His name is Snowbell and he is white in colour. We brought Snowbell home when he was around 8 weeks old and now, he is 1.5 years old. Most of the time he stays inside the house being lazy and sleeping. But he is also very energetic. He likes to chase a ball around the house that we brought for him.

Pets are very lovable but having them brings a lot of responsibilities. We take very good care of Snowbell and feed him twice a day. We make sure that he gets enough nutrients in his meals. My sister bathes him twice a week. And then we brush his white fur. Cats also need a good bed to sleep in so, we brought a bed specifically for him. It’s so soft and he loves sleeping in it. Also, we made sure that he got all his vaccinations done on time.

By nature, cats like to eat fish and other meats. And so, our Snowbell also loves fish and chicken. Whenever I am studying, Snowbell comes near me, curls up around my feet and lays there. Our whole family loves Snowbell, especially my mother. Snowbell is an important part of our family.

My cat’s name is Stuart. He is a Maine Coon cat that is famous for its furry looks. Stuart is very dear to me. His walk is majestic, and he loves to hop around the house while carrying all his grace in his golden fur. Although very majestic, when he sleeps, his postures are funny to look at.

Most of the time he stays at home playing with the ball we got him. But at times he also goes in the backyard for a stroll. He loves watching the birds from the window in my room. I have always wanted a pet cat and when my dad brought home Stuart, I was the happiest. He came home curdled like a white snowball. The cats of his breed live in cold climates, hence we have to ensure that our house is airconditioned properly, especially at night. Now, because they are habitual to such cold climates, the fur of Stuart is amazingly fluffy. We also have to take extra precautions so that Stuart doesn’t feel too much heat.

Cats require a lot of attention and care. We take care of Stuart’s meals like we would of a baby. We feed him twice a day and make sure that he gets all the necessary nutrients through his meals. We also bathe him twice a week. Another important thing that we made sure of is that he got all his vaccinations done on time. And periodically we visit the vet to make sure that he is healthy. Although domesticated, he still likes to chase around birds. When some pigeons sit on the window, he chases them away.

Everyone in our family love loves Stuart. We all take care of him and love him with all our hearts. He is an important member of our family.

Essay On Cat

There are three different types of cats: domestic cats, farm cats, and feral cats. People all across the world love to pet house cats. In various customs and cultures, such as the Japanese culture, cats are revered. Cats are smart animals. They are expert hunters of snakes, rats, etc. Cats are extremely slothful pets; they sleep for lengthy periods of time each day and are kind to those they know and trust. Cats are not particularly sociable. Its child is known as a "kitten." The same family as tigers and panthers includes cats. Cats are omnivores because they eat both plants and animals for food.

The face of a cat is lovely, with a little nose, a large mouth, and some whiskers under the nose. Although they can also be brown, black, grey, cream, or buff, cats are often white in colour.

Food Habits | Cats are omnivorous. They consume fish, meat, fowl, mice, rice, milk, and other vegetative foods in addition to these animal foods. Cats can therefore eat both sorts of food.

Hunting Skills | Cats are not only smart and affectionate but also skilled hunters. They kill creatures, including snakes, mice, and small birds, using their sharp, pointed nails and canines (teeth).

Offsprings | Cats’ offsprings are referred to as ‘kittens’. Cats are incredibly nurturing and guarding of their young. The kittens are raised and fed by them. Kittens are incredibly cute and tiny. Sometime after birth, their eyes open. They have a lot of energy, and they enjoy playing with one another and cuddling with their parents.

Good Pets | Cats are beneficial to their owners because they keep rats out of the house. This is one of the reasons why cats make good pets. Cats are extremely slothful animals. They typically spend their days sleeping and taking naps in warm locations. The pace of life for cats is leisurely. They are not particularly spirited animals, and whenever they are exhausted, they yawn quite cutely. If cats trust people, they can make excellent buddies with them. Cats want to sleep near people because they are warm.

There were 480 million stray cats and 220 million owned cats in the globe as of 2021, according to estimates. With 95.6 million domestic cats owned and 42 million households having at least one cat, domestic cats were the second most common pet in the United States as of 2017. In the UK, 10.9 million cats are thought to be kept as pets, with 26% of adults in the country having one. I keep a fluffy white pet cat as a pet.

Features Of Cats | Although all cats appear to be the same, there are more than 55 different cat breeds. They have excellent night vision, and their flexible bodies make it simple for them to leap from one place to another. They can easily locate the milk because of their keen sense of smell.

Domestication Of Cats | Cats were revered in ancient Egypt starting around 3100 BC. Therefore it was long believed that the domestication of cats started there. However, more recent discoveries in archaeology and genetics have revealed that the domestication of cats actually started in Western Asia around 7500 BC. Later on, Egyptian wildcats contributed to the domestic cat's maternal gene pool.

Breed Development | Cat breed development began in the middle of the 19th century. According to genomic research of domestic cats, the DNA of their wild ancestors underwent significant change during domestication as particular mutations were chosen to create different cat breeds. Most breeds originated from household cats that were randomly bred. These breeds' genetic diversity varies by area and is lowest in purebred populations, which have over 20 harmful genetic illnesses.

My parents made the decision to bring me a pet because I am a single child. I immediately decided on a cat when they asked if I wanted a dog or a cat. My heart raced as my father drove me to a pet store because of this adorable white kitten with grey ears. Since we brought it home, it has been my closest companion. Its name is Rosie.

Rosie has been living with us for the past two years and has integrated herself into our family. I enjoy using it for play. Every evening I play with it in the house and also take it to the park. With my mother's assistance, I bathe it twice a month. Rosie and I both have a lot of fun when we take baths. Every day, my mother makes a point of combing Rosie's hairy coat. Rosie has her own set of combs, brushes, shampoo, and soaps. Her diet is likewise well-cared for by us. For her, we bring a special cat meal home. I cherish my beloved cat.

Although we cannot completely replace humans, my cats still adore me, and I adore them. We play together and engage in a variety of activities that bring joy to both of us. If you've ever kept a cat as a pet, as I did, you'll understand. I adore and appreciate being around my cat. Rosie is lovely, playful, and happy.

My father took me to a pet shop and my heart went pounding for this cute little white kitten with grey ears. We brought it home and since then it has been my best friend. I have named it Rosie.

Rosie is there with us since the last two years and has become a part of our family. I love playing with it. I play with it in the house and also take it out in the park every evening. I bathe it twice a month with the help of my mother. Bathing sessions are super fun for me as well as Rosie. My mother makes it a point to comb Rosie’s furry coat every day. We have a separate set of combs, brushes, shampoo and soaps for Rosie. We also take good care of her diet. We bring home special cat food for her. I love my pet cat.

Introduction

My pet cat, Jersy is a Maine Coon Cat. It is dark brown and black in colour. She is quite active and playful. She spends most of her time with me and is therefore more affectionate towards me than any of my other family member.

Why we brought Home a Pet Cat?

Many of my friends and neighbours had pets at their home and I also longed to have one. I often told my mother to get home a pup or a kitten and she always dismissed my wish saying she doesn’t have time to look after it.

When my brother went to the hostel for higher studies, I felt quite lonely. My father went to the office and my mother was engrossed in the household tasks most of the times. I did not have anyone to play and felt the need of having a pet all the more. I again requested my parents to get me a pet. Looking at how lonely I had grown ever since my brother had gone to the hostel, they decided to fulfil my wish. I was overjoyed at hearing this. It is then that Jersy came into our lives. It has been with us for over four years now.

My Pet Cat is Playful Yet Disciplined

Jersy is extremely fond of playing while at the same time it is also quite well-behaved. Many cats run around the house breaking things. However, Jersy makes sure she does not cause any such damage. She also takes instructions. My mother serves her lunch at sharp every day. Jersy goes and sits near her feeder around the same time every day. She finishes her food and makes sure it does not spill around.

Jersy has won the heart of all my family members. She awaits my return from the school every afternoon and is delighted to see me back. I am also eager to meet her. We love and enjoy each other’s company.

My Pet Cat Essay 3 (400 words)

I have a pet Siamese cat. I got it as a present from my mother on my 7 th birthday. I had always loved cats dearly and often expressed my wish to pet one. My mother gave me a pleasant surprise by fulfilling it. I have named it Misty. It is cream in colour with grey shade around its ears. It has a fine furry coat that renders beauty to it.

Feeding Misty

Misty is a foodie. It loves eating fish. My mother especially goes to the market twice a week to get fresh fish for my adorable cat. Misty does not only eat raw fish but also relishes fried fish that we often prepare for ourselves. Buying cat food is a fun activity for me. There are many options to choose from and I always accompany my parents to the supermarket to choose different packs of cat food.

Misty loves cat food as much as it loves fish. It especially loves cat food when we mix it with milk. It also loves gulping bowls of plain milk. Milk is something that it can never say no to.

Besides, fish, cat food and milk, Misty also has an eye on what we eat and often demands the same in her own unique way. I love sharing my food with it. Bread dipped in milk and chapatti with butter are some of the other things it relishes. My mother is very particular about giving it food at the right time.

Cleanliness and Hygiene

Siamese cats look beautiful however it takes a bit of an effort to maintain their look. Me and my mother conduct Misty’s bathing session once a month and it is complete fun. My mother also makes sure she combs its coat twice a week to remove dead hair and ensure her hygiene. We also brush her teeth once a week. In winters, we cover it with a coat to protect it from cold.

I love playing with Misty but we mostly play indoors only. When I take it out, I mostly carry it in my arms to protect it from the dirt and dust outside that may cause allergy.

Misty gelled along well almost immediately with me as well as my family members. We had set up a small cat house for it at a cosy corner in our house but it sneaked into my bed the very first day it came home and since then it sleeps besides me. I love spending time with Misty. We are extremely fond of each other.

My Pet Cat Essay 4 (500 words)

I have a Persian cat as a pet. We call it Molly. I had seen one such cat at my neighbour’s place and just loved the way it looked. I also wanted to pet one. I told my father about the same and he agreed to bring one home. Molly is 5 years old and has been with us since it was just 2 months. We are all extremely fond of her and she loves us all too. She is particularly fond of me.

The Features of My Pet Cat

  • Molly is pure white in colour.
  • It has long hair that are super soft and a delight to touch. However, its furry hair requires a lot of grooming. It needs to be combed gently every day.
  • It has a small, round face and a snub nose.
  • Its cheeks are chubby and it has small rounded ears.
  • Its eyes are big and full of innocence.
  • It is generally quiet however it also enjoys playing.
  • More than anything it loves sitting in my lap.

Molly has a Pleasant Disposition

Persian cats are considered to be the most beautiful cats in the world and Molly is no exception. It is a treat for the eyes. Her behaviour is as good as her looks. She is very warm and friendly. She did not take long to mingle with me and my family members. She does not detest the entry of anyone in the home. However, she is often quite indifferent towards our guests. She creeps into a quiet corner in our house when some unfamiliar person arrives.

My mother never wanted to keep a cat as a pet however she is glad that we brought Molly home. She has grown quite fond of this tiny little creature over the time just like my father and grandparents. She takes care of all her needs.

Molly’s Grooming and Feeding

Molly has long white hair which make her look beautiful but we also require taking care of it. We make sure we bathe her once a week to keep her hair clean and tidy. I love shopping for Molly’s bathing products. My mother conducts her bathing sessions and I also love helping her with it. Molly remains quiet during this time and lets us clean it thoroughly.

We comb its hair everyday to keep them smooth. It is done with the help of a special wide-tooth comb. Molly loves it when my mother runs comb through her hair. It sits in her lap to get it done.

Molly loves eating fish. We give her fish twice a week. On other days, my mother gives her cat food. We have fixed her lunch and dinner time and serve her food at the same time every day. Molly also loves having milk. She finishes her bowl of milk very quickly and often demands for more.

Molly is an inseparable part of our family. I love spending time with it. We also take her along on outings. She is well-behaved and thus it doesn’t seem difficult to take her along on holidays.

My Pet Cat Essay 5 (600 words)

I have a black coloured cat as a pet. We call it Brenda. It has short hair and a glossy coat. It is five years old and has been with us ever since it was born. It loves having milk and bread. We treat it with fish occasionally and it simply loves its taste. Brenda is very playful and loving.

How Brenda (my pet cat) Became a Part of My Life?

I had always been a big admirer of cats. I always thought that I would pet a couple of cats when I grow old. However, I had never planned of keeping one as a pet in my childhood years. Keeping Brenda as a pet was not planned.

My mother always kept a bowl of water in the garden to quench the thirst of birds and animals during summers. Besides a number of sparrows and pigeons, a few cats also came and drank water from that bowl quite often. One of these cats gave birth to four kittens under our cooler that was kept in the garden. The cat as well as kittens stayed at that place for around ten days. We placed a bowl of milk to feed them every day.

One morning we saw that the cat and three kittens had gone and only a black coloured kitten had been left behind. I kept some food and milk for it. The cat never came back to take its kitten and it continued to live under the cooler. I and my brother soon grew quite fond of it. We decided to pet it. We took permission from my father and got its vaccinations done. My mother allowed it inside the house after the vaccinations were done and it became a part of our family.

Special Cat House in My Garden

As much as I had fancied having a cat, I had been equally enthusiastic about setting up a beautiful cat house at my place. I often saw pictures of cat houses on the internet and wished to install one of those at home some day. So, when we decided to keep Brenda, I expressed my wish to bring her a beautiful cat house. I already had a good idea about the different types of cat houses available in the market. I sat with my brother to shortlist the best one for our loving Brenda. It was delivered to our place in two days and we placed it under a shady tree in our garden. Brenda was quite excited to see her new shelter. It loves the colourful house and enjoys sitting inside it for hours.

Black Cats are not Ominous

Many people consider black cats are ominous. People usually do not like to pet black cats. This is not only because these are considered ominous but also because these cats don’t look as beautiful as the white and fawn ones. My mother was also quite sceptic about keeping Brenda initially. However, I convinced her and she agreed.

It has been five years that Brenda has been with us and we have not faced any uncanny experience as we should have going by the myths. This is a proof that black cats are not ominous. We must not disregard them because of the myths that have been around for centuries. Black cats need our love and affection as much as any other cats.

Brenda came into our life by chance but is now an inseparable part of our family. I and my brother are especially fond of it. Brenda eagerly awaits our return from the school every day and also looks forward to our holidays. It seems quite delighted and cheerful during our holidays. We love her company too.

March 19, 2018 by Study Mentor Leave a Comment

Cats are most popular pets in the world. Cats have been nearly 10000 years as a pet animal.  Cats help us with more than 1000 species of animals, including snakes, rats and other animals. It is very easy to train the cats because they are quick learners. The cat sounds like meow.

According to one survey in America 69 million cats are there as pets. Cats take second place as pets where dogs have the first place. The origin of the cats is African wild cat.

Few people kept cats to help them to find the mouse in their farms. Where others kept them as friendly and good companions. The Egyptians kept cats as their main pet animal. They believe cats as gods.

The English word ‘cat’ is a Latin word Catus. A group of cats is referred to as cloud or glitter, a male cat called tom or comet, a monotonous woman called the queen. We call small cats as kittens.

Different breeds having different types of hair, like long hair, short hair, and hairless breeds. Nowadays special foods are available for cats in all developed countries. Right food will help to cats live longer.

Table of Contents

Cats have excellent night vision and can only see the one-sixth level of human need for human vision. Cats have excellent hearing and can detect the most extensive frequencies. Can hear more-pitched sounds than dogs or humans.

Cats have relatively few taste buds compared to humans (470 or more than 9,000 in human language). Indigenous and wild cats share genetic mutations to contain sugar molecules, including their sweet taste buds, which do not have a sweet taste. Instead, their taste buds react to amino acids, bitter taste, and acids.

The average lifespan of pets has grown in recent years. In the 1980s, it was seven years, rising 9.4 years in 1995, and in 12-15 years in 2014.

Several kinds of health problems, including parasites, bruises, chronic disease, can affect cats. Many diseases are available for vaccines, and indigenous cats regularly provide treatments to eliminate parasites such as worms.

The pet cats are similar to other members of Felice, usually with 4 and 5 kg weight. Some species occasionally more than 11 kg. On the opposite, very small cats, less than 2 kg, have been reported. The largest cat to the world record 21 kg. The officially recorded smallest cat is weighed 1 kg.

Outdoor cats are active in the night, the time of kittens activity is quite simple and varied, meaning home cats are more active morning and evening, in response to more human activities at this time. The daily duration of sleep is typically between 12 to 16 hours and the average time is around 12 to 14 hours.

Some cats sleep for up to 20 hours. The term cat nap refers to the sleeping cat’s sleep for a short period of time (lightly) sleeping. When falling asleep, cats sleep rapidly with sleeping eye movements often with muscle holes, which suggest they dreams.

Communication

Tail and ears are important social signal systems, especially in cats. For example, the increased tail deals with a friendly greeting, and the flat ears represent animosity.

The development of a basic advantage as a signaling mechanism between mother and cats and nursing kittens emerged. The cats breaking mechanism is unclear. The cat does not have a specific body structure that is clearly responsible for the sound.

Cat

Domestic cats, especially young cats, are known for their love of play. This behavior varies in hunt and kittens are important to help kill the twigs, the capture, and the hunt.

Cats engage in fighting the game with one another and with humans. This behavior may be a way of achieving the skills needed for a real war, and they can reduce any fears when launching attacks on other animals.

Due to the close similarity between drama and hunting, cats like to play with animals such as small fur-dolls, but lose interest in the toy they have played quickly (they get used to). Toys are more common when cats are hungry.

Cats can bite humans when induced, during play or aggression. The cat bite is different from other pets. This is because cat teeth are sharp and deeper.

Cats can transmit viruses, bacteria, fungus, protozoa, arthropods or mites to humans. In some cases, the cat does not show any symptoms for this disease, although the same disease is clearly visible in man.

The risk of a person being infected depends on the age of the person and the immune system. Most of the infections occurring are salmonella, cat scratch disease, and toxoplasmosis.

Essay on Cat | 500+ Words

Cats, those mysterious and beloved creatures, have captured our hearts and homes for centuries. In this essay, I will argue that cats make exceptional companions and offer a multitude of benefits to their human counterparts. These independent, agile, and affectionate creatures have a unique place in our lives.

Companionship and Comfort

Cats provide companionship and comfort like no other. According to a survey by the American Pet Products Association, 67% of households in the United States have a pet, and a significant portion of them are cats. Why? Because cats offer unwavering companionship, especially for people living alone or those seeking solace. Their presence alone can bring a sense of calm and ease.

Stress Reduction

Research published in the journal “Psychosomatic Medicine” suggests that interacting with cats can reduce stress and anxiety levels. The simple act of petting a cat can release feel-good chemicals in our brains, such as oxytocin and serotonin. When I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed, spending time with my cat, Whiskers, always helps me relax and feel better.

Low Maintenance

Cats are known for their independence and low maintenance. Unlike some pets that require constant attention and care, cats are self-sufficient animals. They groom themselves, use a litter box, and can be left alone for longer periods without worry. This makes them an ideal choice for busy families and individuals.

Health Benefits

Studies have shown that owning a cat can have a positive impact on our health. The American Heart Association suggests that having a cat may reduce the risk of heart disease and lower blood pressure. The gentle purring of a cat can be soothing and therapeutic. My family and I have noticed that having a cat has a calming effect on all of us, and we cherish our time with our feline friend.

Pest Control

Historically, cats have been employed as pest controllers. In ancient Egypt, they were revered for their ability to keep homes and granaries free from rats and mice. Even today, many farmers and homeowners rely on cats to help control unwanted pests. This natural pest control ability is a valuable benefit of having cats around.

Playful Companions

Cats are not only affectionate but also playful. They provide entertainment with their curious nature and acrobatic antics. The American Veterinary Medical Association recommends interactive play with cats to stimulate their minds and bodies. Playing with my cat using toys and laser pointers is not only fun but also helps keep him happy and healthy.

Quiet Company

Cats are known for their calm and quiet presence. Unlike some pets that can be noisy or demanding, cats tend to be more serene. This calmness can be soothing, especially after a long and tiring day. I often find solace in the peaceful moments spent with my cat, reading a book or simply enjoying each other’s company.

Conclusion of Essay on Cat

In conclusion, cats are extraordinary companions that bring comfort, joy, and numerous benefits to our lives. Their ability to reduce stress, their low-maintenance nature, and their health benefits make them cherished members of many households. As I reflect on the presence of my cat, Whiskers, in my life, I am grateful for the calm and contentment he brings.

Cats have a unique way of making us feel loved and valued, even without words. Their independent spirits and playful natures add a touch of wonder to our daily lives. So, whether it’s curling up with a cat on a cozy afternoon or watching them chase a feather toy, cats are indeed our feline friends, enriching our lives in countless ways. As we celebrate the joys of cat companionship, let us cherish the magic of these enigmatic creatures and the special place they hold in our hearts.

What Your Will Child Learn From The Essay?

Cats are beloved pets known for their cute, furry appearances, serious expressions, carefree attitudes, and silly antics that captivate people worldwide. Their long history of coexistence with humans has led to an enduring fascination, with some even questioning whether we have domesticated them or they have domesticated us.

Cats have a unique charm that sets them apart from other pets. From playful kittens to graceful adults, cats possess an irresistible appeal that has made them a staple in popular culture, with countless books, movies, and TV shows featuring feline characters. In this article, we will go over what makes cats a favourite and show you how to write cat essays in English for classes 1, 2 and 3 in short and long forms.

Here are some essential tips on how to write an essay on cats:

  • If you plan to write about your pet cat in the essay exclusively, start from their adoption and continue the essay writing about their behaviour.
  • When writing a generic essay about cats, discuss their habits, food preferences, instincts, and general nature.
  • Long-form essays should have introductory and concluding sentences/paragraphs.
  • A good essay can balance information about your cat’s behaviour and nature.

If your little one could use some help describing cats, this section about the appearance of cats will come in handy.

Cats & Their Appearance

The common cat is a four-legged mammal with furry skin, soft paws, attentive ears, and a heightened sense of alertness. They are born with different colours such as black, white, grey, orange and sometimes a mix of all the three. The fur on cats is to protect them from cold. They have soft, padded paws that dampen noise when they are hunting or moving about. They also have long whiskers around their nose to sense the movement of prey and a rough tongue to scrape the flesh off of bones. Cats are carnivores that hunt little animals in the wild. An adult cat can weigh between 3.5 to 4.5 kilos.

This 10-line my pet cat essay is easy to follow for children in classes 1 and 2. Here is how you can frame 10 lines on cats:

  • I have a pet cat, and his name is fluffy.
  • Fluffy is a male cat with a long furry tail.
  • He is white with orange stripes on different parts of his body.
  • Fluffy is a good boy and behaves well all the time.
  • He poops in his litter box and eats up all his food without making a mess.
  • Sometimes he becomes very playful and runs all around the house.
  • Fluffy follows me wherever I go and sleeps below my desk all the time.
  • He also loves to relax and laze around everywhere in the house.
  • Fluffy loves spending time cuddling with us and makes soft purring sounds.
  • I love my pet cat, Fluffy, and I know he loves me a lot, too.

Paragraph On Cats

Here is an example of my pet cat essay in around 100 words:

My pet cat is an orange tabby named Lizzy. We raised Lizzy since she was a 12-week-old kitten. She is nine months old now and loves to play all the time. She likes to chase her toy ball around the house. She also chews on all my stuff and pulls the curtains and sheets. When she is not playing, she wants to eat and sleep. I always look for Lizzy the first thing in the morning when I wake up, and I pet her goodnight before going to sleep.

A short essay is an excellent exercise to establish flow and narrative. Here is an example of a ‘My Pet Cat’ essay in 150 to 200 words:

We have a pet cat in the house called Momo. He is a stray we adopted from our street when he was three months old. Momo has been in our family for two years now. He stays inside the house and lazes around all day but is very energetic at night. That’s when he loves to run around and often topples things in the house.

Having a pet cat is a huge responsibility. Since letting them outside exposes them to diseases and other dangers, you must provide them with everything inside the house. Cats need fresh and healthy food, a litterbox to poop in, and a good bed to sleep on. They also have to be vaccinated against several diseases to ensure their safety.

Cats are carnivores by nature. Momo loves to eat chicken, fish, dry cat food, and wet cat food. Sometimes, he also brings the small animals he hunts from the garden inside the house. Everybody in the family loves Momo, and he loves us back even more. Although they appear calm, cats have a different way of showing affection to their owners. Momo loves me when he slowly blinks his eyes when I call out for him or curls up beside my feet when I study.

Long Essay On My Favourite Pet Cat

A long, descriptive essay on my pet cat requires children to plan for what they wish to include in the essay and build a good narrative. Here is an example of an essay for Class 3:

My pet cat, Rocket, is a Maine Coon cat. As a popular breed for its size and furry looks, Rocket is as impressive as any pet can get! He is white, black, and grey and quite a graceful-looking feline by his appearance. He sits majestically and walks majestically but sleeps in silly postures. He loves spending his time with me or outside looking at birds sitting in the backyard.

I’ve always wanted to have a pet cat that is furry and cute. Maine Coon is my favourite cat breed as I think they are the most majestic-looking cats in the world. These cats live in cold climates and higher latitudes where it snows and the temperature regularly falls below freezing levels. Because their natural habitat is cold, they naturally have thick fur. Therefore, we must take extra precautions to ensure Rocket doesn’t get too hot in the lower latitudes we live in. He gets his air-conditioned room where the temperature is always maintained cool. It has his bed, play area, and a window leading him to the backyard.

Rocket spends most of his time indoors during hot summer days, sleeping in my room. We also give him a haircut to make him feel more comfortable. When it’s colder outside, he likes to venture into the garden and hunt little animals. Even though we give him all the best foods, his hunting instincts remain the same as all other cats. He often hunts little birds, pigeons, chipmunks, and other unfortunate critters wandering into the garden.

Rocket also loves to be pet and cuddled. He likes it when I scratch his back with a comb. When he is not the apex predator in the garden, he is a silly cat playing with random things in the house. I cannot wish for a better pet than Rocket!

Fun Facts About Cats That Kids Should Know

  • One year of a cat’s life is approximately equal to 15 years of human life.
  • Cats show affection to their owners by slowly opening and closing their eyes.

By studying the examples given above and writing an essay on ‘My Pet Animal’ or ‘My Pet Cat’, your child can learn how to express their observation and knowledge about cats in short and long essays. These examples will equip your little one with ideas on how to present information about their pet cat sequentially for their own composition.

My Pet Essay

500 words essay on my pet.

Pets are a blessing that only lucky people get to have. I have been lucky enough to have many pets since my childhood. My pet is a cat whom we call Mingi. It is white and grey in colour. Mingi is 3 years old and has been with me ever since she was born. Through my pet essay, I will make you learn all about Mingi and why it is so dear to me.

my pet essay

How Mingi Became My Pet Essay

Mingi has short hair and also a glossy coat. It is a female and love to have milk and chicken. Sometimes, I treat it with fish as it loves the taste of tuna. Moreover, Mingi is a very loving pet that stays with me at all times.

Ever since I was little, I liked cats. I love how clean and majestic they are. Although, there were no plans to keep a pet cat. My mother did not allow me as she would end up doing all the work for the pet.

However, she used to keep a bowl of fresh water in our garden to ensure no birds or animals remain thirsty during the summer season. A lot of pigeons and sparrows come to my garden to quench their thirst.

One fine day, a cat came to drink the water. It started coming regularly afterwards and gave birth to kittens in our garden. My mother gave them food as well and some milk every day.

However, one day all of them were gone except for a little kitten. I started to feed it regularly and became close to it. As the mother did not return, I decided to keep it as my pet.

After taking permission from my mother, I finally got to keep Mingi by promising to bear its responsibility. Ever since Mingi has been in my life. It was so little but now has grown into a big and beautiful cat.

A Clean Pet

Cats are one of the cleanest pets that do not require a lot of effort to maintain. I hardly have to worry about Mingi being dirty as it cleans itself regularly. I conduct a bathing session every month with my mother.

It is not easy but Mingi is now used to it. We also comb Mingi’s coat twice a week so no dead hair remains and her hygiene is intact. Moreover, it may sound rare but we also brush Mingi’s teeth every week.

During winters , Mingi gets cold so we have got her a warm coat to protect her from the cold. Mingi remains indoors mostly and never dirties our house. Ever since it was little, she knew where to relieve herself so she’s always been low maintenance and love.

Conclusion Of My Pet Essay

All in all, Mingi has been a blessing that happened by chance. However, she is now an inseparable part of my life. I love spending time with her and she manages to make my saddest days happier.

Cat Essay -Cats are one of the most beloved pets in the world. They are known for their playful nature, independence, and affection towards their owners. In this essay, we will explore the history, characteristics, and care of cats, as well as their impact on human society.

Cat Essay

Short Essay on Cat 200 Words :

Cats are beloved pets that have been domesticated for thousands of years. They are known for their unique physical characteristics, such as their fur patterns, size, and weight. Their soft fur and flexible bodies make them excellent hunters, and their agility and stealth allow them to catch small prey with ease.

Cats are also fastidious groomers, spending a significant portion of their day licking and cleaning their fur. This behavior not only keeps them clean but also plays a role in their social interactions with other cats.

In terms of their relationship with humans, cats have a long history of domestication and have been revered in ancient cultures for their hunting skills. Today, they are one of the most popular pets worldwide, providing companionship and serving as stress-relievers for their owners. However, owning a cat also comes with responsibilities such as proper nutrition, veterinary care, and training.

On the other hand, cats can have a negative impact on the environment. Feral and domestic cats can have a negative impact on local wildlife populations, particularly birds and small mammals. Efforts have been made to control the population of feral cats, such as trap-neuter-return programs.

Long Essay on Cat 300 Words :

Cats also known as domestic cats or felines, are small carnivorous mammals that have been kept as pets for thousands of years. They are believed to have originated from the African wildcat, and have since spread to nearly every corner of the world.

One of the main reasons that cats have become such popular pets is their independent nature. Unlike dogs, which often require a lot of attention and training, cats are relatively low maintenance and can often be left alone for long periods of time. This makes them a great option for people with busy lifestyles or those who live in small apartments.

Cats are also known for their playful and affectionate nature. Many cats enjoy playing with toys and will spend hours chasing a ball of yarn or a laser pointer. They also enjoy cuddling and being petted, and many will even purr when they are happy or content.

In addition to being great pets, cats also have a number of benefits for their owners. For example, they can help reduce stress and anxiety, and may even lower the risk of heart attacks and stroke. They also help keep pests such as mice and rats at bay.

There are also some downsides to owning a cat. For example, cats can be quite destructive and may scratch or claw at furniture. They also have a tendency to knock over objects and make a mess. Additionally, some people may be allergic to cats, which can make it difficult to own one.

Overall, cats are fascinating and beloved pets that have a lot to offer. They are independent, playful, and affectionate, and can bring a lot of joy to their owners’ lives. With proper care and attention, cats can be a great addition to any household.

Symbol of Independence

Cats are often seen as symbols of independence. Unlike dogs, who are dependent on their owners for affection and attention, cats are self-reliant creatures. This quality of self-sufficiency resonates with me, as it mirrors the human journey towards individuality and self-reliance.

Cats are undeniably beautiful creatures. Their sleek bodies, expressive eyes, and soft fur make them aesthetically pleasing. Cats are also affectionate and playful, exhibiting a wide range of emotions. They are known for their curiosity, often leading them to explore their surroundings in a way that is both entertaining and endearing. Their independence doesn’t imply a lack of affection, but rather a respect for personal space, a trait that resonates with many introverted individuals.

Cats as Companions

The symbolism of cats.

A cat does not bite but it can scratch very badly. So we must keep at a safe distance from a cat’s sharp claws.

People keep a dog as a pet for reasons a liking for them as also a constant watchman by night and day. There are signboards at the gate of persons keeping dogs as pets ‘Beware of dogs’ which means that the dogs kept as pets would not allow any unknown person to enter the premises of the house. This is a great advantage and great protection. There are different species of dogs, some are just lovely, furry, fluffy beings who sit crouched cozily in the lap harmless ones harmless even to an outsider. There are the other ones who are the bigger ones in size and ferocious indeed. They can tear an intruder apart, would bark, aloud to awaken the whole house.

Pets Essay

They may be ferocious to an outsider or an intruder but to their master and to the family they are docile and cool abiding by their every command or direction. The master and the dog are inseparable when the master is back home after his day’s work. It must jump up to reach the master, feel contentment only after being given a loving pat, not without it. Faithful they are to that extent that stories go about some of them who gave up food and drink and gave up their lives after their master was no more.

Dogs have a great instinct for learning. Though animals, they exhibit a great sense of intelligence. They can be trained even by the crime-investigating agencies and have successfully worked out to catch the criminal.

Loving, faithful, ferocious, and intelligent with an instinct to learn that is all about dogs as pets.

Below we have given a short essay on Pets is for Classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. This short essay on the topic is suitable for students of class 6 and below.

Cats are kept as pets too. But as contrasted with dogs cats are less faithful, less loving more self-loving. They cannot be any risk to an intruder and can be lured away.

There have been no cases of cats sacrificing themselves for their master. But they are lovely creatures who would cozily comfort themselves in the bed of their masters and love to be in the lap. People keep cats as pets just for their looks their fluffy purring behavior. They are loved for their looks that is what cats are.

Keeping pets is both a pleasure and a task. Once one gets lured to keep pets, one cannot give up one’s liking for them, so much so that pets — dogs and cats once kept, they become a part of the family, a part of life, and one cannot give them up. It is a love that lasts.

My Pet Animal Essay 1 (200 words)

I have a very cute little spotted cat as a pet. I have named it Isabella. It is very warm and friendly. It has been with us since the last two years and has become an important part of our family. I and my sister are extremely fond of it. We love playing with it all the time.

I have always been very fond of cats. I often kept a bowl of milk in my backyard to attract cats to come to our place. Some cats and small kittens came to our place every day. I also fed them with bread and chapatti. Quite often they even slept under a chair kept in our backyard. I also visited animal shelter to give food to stray cats. Looking at my fondness for these friendly creatures, my mother decided to bring one home.

On my 7 th birthday, my mother took me to an animal shelter early morning and surprised me by telling me that I can adopt one of the cats there. My heart went out for a brown coloured spotted kitten sleeping peacefully at a corner and I brought it home. This is how Isabella came to our lives.

I do not only play with Isabella but also take care of its cleanliness. We bathe her once every 15 days. Isabella is quite fond of fish and we serve it the same quite frequently. Life is so much better with its presence.

My Pet Animal Essay 2 (300 words)

Introduction

People mostly keep cats, dogs, fishes and birds as pets. These are all adorable however none can beat the charm of the pet I have. I have a monkey as a pet. Its name is Chimpu. Many people find it weird and are even scared of coming to our house because of it. But I totally adore it.

How I convinced my Family to Pet a Monkey?

I always loved monkeys and wanted to pet one. I often saw these as pets in the movies. However, I had never met anyone in real life who had a monkey for a pet. When I expressed my wish to pet a monkey my parents laughed at the thought and dismissed it stating it was a vague demand. However, I soon convinced them and brought an infant monkey to my place. It was just adorable as a baby and my parents became as fond of it as me.

Taking Care of My Pet Monkey

Since no body we knew had a pet monkey and we had no clue about how to take care of it, we called for professional help. Initially, a monkey trainer visited our place every week to train Chimpu to adapt to our ways. It also instructed us on how to take care of our pet. We soon understood how monkeys behaved. We learned the ways to keep them calm and the things that infuriated them. He also told us how to ensure its cleanliness and what and how to feed it. We started taking care of Chimpu in exactly the same way.

Chimpu is very warm and friendly. It has been with us since it was an infant and is thus extremely attached to us. It also loves having guests at home. It enjoys when we have get together at home. It is super fun to be around Chimpu.

My Pet Animal Essay 3 (400 words)

A rabbit is one such animal that everyone just adores. It is loved for its cute look and adorable activities. Though it is a bit difficult to take care of these gentle creatures, I decided to pet them just because I found them extremely cute.

I researched on the internet and also consulted the pet shop owner and came to know that rabbits are happier and live long if they have company. So I decided to get home two cute little rabbits instead of going for just one. Both my rabbits are pure white in colour. I have named them Bunny and Betty. They are my lifelines. While my mother was against petting an animal especially rabbits, she soon grew fond of them. She helps me take good care of both of them.

Cleanliness and Grooming

Both Bunny and Betty have white fur. The fur often attracts dust, dirt and germs. We help them get rid of it by brushing them gently every 3-4 days. We have a special wide-toothed comb for the same. We have kept separate combs for both the rabbits. Bunny and Betty love the combing sessions. They sit in my mother’s lap and enjoy this activity. My mother washes the combs thoroughly and dries them after every combing session.

We make sure to get their hair trimmed to an inch. It is easier to maintain their fur when it is trimmed. Long fur attracts more germs and is also difficult to brush. My mother also trims their nails every once in a while to ensure hygiene.

Eating Habits and Behaviour

My pet rabbits love eating carrots, grass, basil and various green leafy vegetables. We mainly feed them with leafy greens and give them carrots occasionally as the later contain high sugar content. We bring fresh leafy vegetables and grass for our bunnies every day and make sure they are well fed.

Just like small kids, Bunny and Betty love being pampered. They like sitting in my lap and just love it when I pat them or gently rub their head. They show their affection by licking me. They also love running around the house with me.

When I return home from school or tuition class, they joyfully run around my feet to show their love.

Both Bunny and Betty are quite warm, friendly and sociable. They are not only affectionate towards us but also welcome all our guests with warmth. Small kids in our neighbourhood often come to play with Bunny and Betty. They love playing with the kids.

My Pet Animal Essay 4 (500 words)

I have a pet tortoise. I have named it Tortilla. Unlike other pet animals, tortoise is quite easy to pet. But this is something we had only read on the internet. We didn’t know anyone who had a tortoise as a pet and were not really sure how it was like to pet a tortoise. My parents agreed to bring it home on a trial basis initially. They made it clear that if we were able to maintain it and were comfortable with the way it behaved we would keep it. Else we would return it after a month. Thankfully, Tortilla adapted to the environment pretty soon and became a part of our family.

Tortilla’s Habitat

We brought a big Terrarium for Tortilla. We have kept a few plants and stones in it. Tortilla loves staying inside its cosy habitat. We make sure that the terrarium is cleaned every week to ensure hygiene. The enclosure is well-ventilated and also well-lit just the way tortoise like it. There is enough space for Tortilla to roam around. It loves roaming around its habitat. Tortoise can act shy at times and need a secure place to hide.

Whenever we have guests at home, Tortilla hides behind the plants in the Terrarium and goes inside its shell. Since tortoise belong to the places with hot and humid climate, it is essential to maintain the same environment inside the Terrarium. We have thus kept it at a place where it gets direct sunlight. We also keep it damp so that Tortilla stays comfortable inside. Tortilla hides beneath the plants whenever it wants a cool atmosphere.

Tortilla’s Eating Habits

Tortilla loves eating different grasses. It is also fond of green leafy vegetables. We serve it with different green vegetables. Tortilla loves it when we maintain variety though it is particularly fond of cabbage, spring greens and cauliflower. We also ensure it gets fresh water. We have kept a shallow water bowl so that it can drink water easily. We change its water on a daily basis.

Tortilla’s Behaviour and Activities

Tortilla loves to soak up in the sun rays. It sits at the place where the sun rays are strong. It is quite active during the day time. We often take it out of the Terrarium when we are back from the school. It is fond of playing and being around us. It loves playing with a ball. We roll the ball towards it and it loves chasing and gripping it. At night, it sleeps for most part.

Tortilla is quite easy going and thus easy to maintain. It does not create any kind of fuss while eating. It is also easy to maintain its habitat. There are no cleanliness issues at home such as the ones you have when you pet a dog or a cat. It has been 3 years that Tortilla has been with us and we are now planning to bring home another tortoise to give it company. Both me and my brother are quite excited about it and have already started short listing names.

My Pet Animal Essay 5 (600 words)

I have a black coloured Boxer as a pet. We call it Bruno. It is 10 years old and has been a part of my family even before I was born. I have grown up with it and am very fond of it. Bruno loves being around me. It waits eagerly for my return whenever I go out anywhere.

Bruno’s Physical Features

Bruno is a fully grown male Boxer with a height of around 22 inches. Just like the other Boxers, it has a squashed face, floppy square shaped ears and droopy eyes. It has a broad deep chest with a strong and sturdy back. It has compact feet and arched toes. It has a short shiny black coat that sheds moderately. This is one thing my mother loves. Dogs with furry coat can be quite difficult to maintain. Not only does one have to pay more attention towards their cleanliness and hygiene but their shedding also creates a lot of mess around the house.

Though highly energetic, Bruno loves to laze around especially when I am not around.

Bruno Guards Our House Vigilantly

It loves sitting in the balcony watching people. It is not the kind of dog who will bark at everyone it sees in the street. It is calm most of the time but gets quite excited whenever a guest arrives home. It rushes to the front door every time it hears the door bell. Though it doesn’t bark much, it takes complete care of the safety and security of our house. Whenever it sees a stranger entering the house, it smells the person thoroughly. Bruno has a well-built muscular body and guards our house like a pro. We feel secure with its presence around.

Bruno Loves Accompanying us for Outings

Bruno guards our house when we are not at home. It remains vigilant at all times and we don’t have to worry about security issues when it is home. However, this is not what it really loves. Bruno often grows sad when we leave it behind. It loves to accompany us for weekend excursions and outings. It is well-behaved and sits quietly in the car. It is loaded with energy and is quite playful. It loves indulging in various outdoor activities with us. Bruno serves as a great fielder when we play cricket. I always take it in my team. It also guards us against strangers whenever we are out to play. It is particularly protective about my 3 years old baby brother.

Boxers require a good amount of exercise to maintain their body. We thus take Bruno out for walk every evening. We don’t always chain it when we are out with it so that it runs around a bit.

Bruno’s Eating Habits

Initially, my mother fed Bruno with dog food. However, it soon started demanding what we ate. We often used to give it chunks of breads and chapatti from our plate. Since we saw that it digested these things well, we changed its diet. We no longer bring home dog food. Bruno eats chapattis and bread dipped in milk or curd. It is particularly fond of boiled eggs. We feed it with the same twice or thrice a week. Bruno finishes its food quickly and demands for more at times. It is also fond of biscuits. Though, dogs shouldn’t be given the normal sugary biscuits, I feed it with the same sometimes only because it relishes them.

Bruno is an important part of my life. I am as attached to Bruno as I am to my siblings and parents. We all love it dearly and it loves us too. It is great to have a dog as a pet especially if it is a boxer.

Figure Classification

The Figure Classification questions show three pictures that share a connection or a characteristic. Choose the answer that shares the same connection/characteristic from the answer choices.

essay on cat for class 7

The correct answer is 2. All pictures consist of two identical shapes, one bigger and one smaller. Two figures are touching, and the smaller one is always on the right side. The only choice that follows that pattern is 2. Answer 1 contains two identical figures, but they are not touching, and smaller one is below the bigger one. In answer 3, the figures touch, but the smaller one is on top of the bigger one. In answer 4, the figures are overlapping, not just touching. In answer 5, the figures don’t touch each other.

Figure Classification:

Figure Classification:

In this question, the pattern is as follows: • Each picture contains one small figure inside of a bigger figure. • The internal figure is always in a different shape than the outer one. • The internal figure is always in the upper half of the outer figure never in the center. Answers 2,3 and 4 have different shapes inside and outside but they are not in the upper half (2 and 3 are in the lower half while 4 is in the center). Answer 5 does have an internal shape in the upper half but it is the identical shape inside and outside. We are left with the 1st choice as the only possible correct answer.

Figure Analysis

You'll see a folded paper with holes punched in Figure Analysis questions.

The answer choices show unfolded papers with holes punched in them.

You have to pick the answer that matches what the folded paper would look like when unfolded.

Figure Analysis

The correct answer is 5.

answer 5

• The paper has one hole punched and is folded 3 times. • If we open the first crease, which covers one hole, it would result in the next picture having 2 holes. • If we open the second crease, which covers 2 holes, it would result in the next picture having 4 holes. • If we open the third crease, which covers 4 holes, it would result in the final picture having 8 holes. Answers 1 and 3 are incorrect because they do not have 8 holes. Answers 2 and 4 are incorrect because the hole placement is wrong.

essay on cat for class 7

The correct answer is 1.

answer 6

• The paper has one hole punched and is folded 4 times. • If we open the first crease which covers one hole it would result in the next picture having 2 holes. • If we open the second crease which covers 2 holes it would result in the next picture having 3 holes. • If we open the third crease which covers 3 holes, the next picture still has 3 holes because the folded area was not affected. • If we open the fourth crease which covers 3 it would result in the final picture having 4 holes. Answers 3,4 and 5 are incorrect because they do not have 4 holes. Answer 2 is incorrect because the hole placement is wrong.

Figure Matrices

Figure Matrix questions are either 2x2 or 3x3 matrices comprised of different pictures. In each row and column, the pictures change the same way or follow the same rule. Choose an answer that goes in the empty box in the matrix following the same rule.

Figure Matrices:

The correct answer is 4. In this question, in the top row, from left to right, the first figure has a circle overlapping with the square, with the circle being white and bigger than the square. The second figure circle turns black and is now fitting inside the square.

Therefore, for the second row, the first figure is the white circle overlapping with the triangle being the bigger of the two. Then it should transform into a black circle and fit inside the triangle. Hence, the 4th choice is the correct answer.

Figure Matrices

The correct answer is 3. In this question, the pictures consist of varying shapes that have different combinations of lines and circles in them. There are two different patterns, one for the shapes and one for the lines and circles inside. The pattern for the shapes is that they move along one space, to the left as you look down the rows, or upwards if you look across the columns. Notice that each row and each column include exactly one of each shape: one irregular hexagon, one shield, and one circle. The pattern for the lines and circles is as follows: across the rows from left to right, or up the columns from bottom to top, in the third picture (the right or the bottom), the number of triangles is. the result of subtracting lines and circles (1st pic - 2nd pic = 3rd pic). That means that for the missing picture, we have circle-line-line-line minus line-line, which equals circle-line. Answer. Based on the shapes pattern, the missing picture should be a shield, thus eliminating answers 2, 4 and 5. Based on the circle/lines pattern, we need 1 circle and 1 line, thus eliminating 1. The only remaining possible answer is 3.

Figure Recognition

You'll be shown a shape with five answer options that have complex designs.

Pick the design with the same size and orientation as the shape shown.

• Answer choice 5 does not have any trapezoid on its side, therefore, it cannot contain the given shape

essay on cat for class 7

The correct answer is 3. The given shape is the merge of two trapezoids turned on the right side and touching on their parallel lines (shorter parallel line of the bigger trapezoid is touching, the longer parallel line of the smaller trapezoid). • Answers 1, 4 and 5 do not have the correct type of trapezoid ( isosceles trapezoid),

• Answer choice 2 does have the correct type of trapezoid, but it is touching a triangle, not another trapezoid.

essay on cat for class 7

The correct answer is 4. • The shape is two different size triangles touching on their angles only. Bigger triangle is in the upright position while the smaller one is tilted left (counterclockwise). • Answers 1 and 2 have many triangles touching and few that are touching by the angle but none are the correct shape or in the correct position. • Answer choice 3 has two triangles touching in the same way and by the correct angle however the shape of the smaller triangle is not matching. • Answer choice 5 has no triangles touching by the angle.

essay on cat for class 7

The correct answer is

answer 7

• The paper has two holes punched and is folded 4 times. • If we open the first crease, which covers one hole, it would result in the following picture having 2 holes. • If we open the second crease, which covers 2 holes, it would result in the following picture having 4 holes. • If we open the third crease, which covers 4 holes, the following picture has 5 holes. Answers 2 and 4 are incorrect because they do not have 5 holes. Answers 1 and 3 are incorrect because the hole placement is wrong.

Number Series You'll see numbers that follow a rule. Select a number from the choices to continue the series using the same rule.

Find the following number in the series: 3, 6, 9, 12, __

The correct answer is C. We have a series of numbers: 3, 6, 9, 12, and there’s a missing number that we’re searching for. Take a good look at the numbers. Do you notice any pattern? It’s pretty cool! Each number in the series is 3 more than the previous one. So, to find the missing number, we need to add 3 to the last number in the series, which is 12. When we do that, we get 15! So, the following number in the series is 15.

Find the next number in the series: 9 16 25 36 49 ?

In this series, the pattern is that each number is obtained by doubling the previous number. Starting with 3, we double it to get 6. Then, we double 6 to get 12, double 12 to get 24, and so on. To continue the pattern, we must double the last number in the series, 48. 48 doubled is 96. Therefore, 96 is the correct answer.

Find the connection between the numbers in the first two pairs and use that connection to figure out the missing number in the third pair. Choose the number that follows the same connection as the first two pairs for the third pair.

[8 → 16] [12 → 24] [6 → ?]

The correct answer is A. Look at the numbers in the first pair and try to find the rule they follow. How do we get from 8 to 16? We see that if we multiply the first number by 2, we get the second number: 8 × 2 = 16. Does this rule work for the second pair, as well? When we multiply 12 by 2, we get 24: 12 × 2 = 24. The rule “multiply the first number by 2 to get the second” works in both pairs, so in the next pair, we should also multiply by 2: 6 × 2 = 12. Therefore, 12 is the correct answer.

[25 → 5] [49 → 7] [64 → ?]

The correct answer is B. Look at the numbers in the first pair and try to find the rule they follow. How do we get from 25 to 5? We see that if we take the square root of the first number, we get the second number: √25 = 5. Does this rule work for the second pair, as well? When we take the square root of 49, we get 7: √49 = 7. The rule “take the square root of the first number to get the second” works in both pairs, so in the next pair, we should also take the square root: √64 = 8. Therefore, 8 is the correct answer.

You must pick a word that completes a second pair of words in verbal analogy questions. The first pair of words have a unique relationship you must maintain.

hot → warm: cold →

The correct answer is A.

Hot is a term describing a high temperature, and warm is a term describing a moderate temperature. The same goes for cold: cold describes a low temperature. Moreover, freezing is a term describing an extremely low temperature, similar to how hot is an extreme temperature. Cool, icy, tepid, and scorching are incorrect as they do not represent an extremely low temperature like freezing.

big → huge: small →

The correct answer is A. "Big" means large, and "huge" means even larger. "Small" means moderate, and "tiny" means extremely small, like "big" is an extreme size. "Enormous," "colossal," "gigantic," and "mammoth" are not correct because they don't describe a tiny size like "tiny."
