Optimal Block and Prefer Lists
Assumptions
⬥ In the pictures above, the optimal block and prefer lists for XP and GP focused slayer is shown. These are based off the weightings of each task, the blocked tasks are highly weighted and offer low rates in either XP, GP or both. Some high-weight but fast tasks were excluded from the block list, as those are used to build points, such as Dagannoths or Order of Ascension Members.
⬥ The XP-focused tasks have a few assumptions, that Ripper Demons are killed for all Demon tasks, Moss Golems are killed for Creatures of the Lost Grove, and that the player's highest level Soul Devourer is killed.
• If required to, the player should boost with the use of a Wilder Pie to kill higher levelled mobs, to boost their XP rates further.
⬥ Laniakea's special assignment is a very strong task, granting 50k slayer XP and 45 slayer points upon completion, and only requires 1 kill of each Vile Bloom. This takes a few minutes and gives large rewards, so should always be completed. On the other hand, Morvran's special assignment requires many boss kills, takes too much time and gives very little reward, so should be turned off for free, after being completed once for the completionist cape requirement.
How to Use These Lists
⬥ Bad tasks should always be blocked or skipped with quick tasks completed to upkeep slayer points, and never reset your streak via a Spria task, as the streak bonus is very important to gaining slayer points consistently. Due to the nature of some tasks, slayer points can be quite valuable.
⬥ Whilst these lists are optimal, many players will find that they enjoy or dislike tasks, which is perfectly fine. Take into account which tasks you personally prefer, and build your lists around that. The most important thing is to enjoy slaying!

Morvran Slayer Challenge
By Wessan March 21, 2015 in Help and Advice

Does Morvran only offer his slayer challenge once? I read that he does on Rune Wiki, but I cannot find any verifying information anywhere else.
To be fair, the wiki could be saying that each boss has to be killed "once" but it is misleading.

Yeah it can be offered infinitely same as all other masters special challenges.
I think the emphasis on once is due to the fact the wording of the task itself can be misleading as it just refers to killing 9 bosses from a specific list, which is rather ambiguous on the fact its killing each one of the 9 once - not just killing 9 in all.

Oh, no. I have not done it yet, but I read it as if you only have one opportunity to complete it.
Edit: Exactly, Sy.
RuneScape Wiki says "Morvran will ask the player to slay a group of bosses once " (emphasis mine) and I think they are referring to you having to get one kill on each boss, not that Morvan will only assign the special challenge one time. Given that it's required for the Completionist Cape, I have a feeling someone would have complained and gotten it fixed if there was only one opportunity to get the challenge ever. So yeah, you can cancel it without penalty and you should get it again some point in the future.
Edit: looks like it already got answered while I was typing, cheers :).

It is fairly common to get the challenge from him. You do not get the challenge once, you can get it multiple times. The challenge itself is "kill each of the bosses once while you have your inventory with crystals"

Morvran's challenge enhancer
The Morvran's challenge enhancer is a rewards enhancer that can be received from the Motherlode Maw 's daily random reward if the player has at least level 115 Dungeoneering, and level 95 in all other non-elite skills. There is a chance of obtaining it by trading Wythien ten crystal motherlode shards . It can also be obtained by talking to Wythien to convert an unfocused reward enhancer to a Morvran's challenge enhancer. By converting an unfocused reward enhancer it will only have half of the charges, giving it 1 charge instead of 2.
When the enhancer is in the player's inventory, the player will be resurrected with full health if the player dies fighting any creature associated with Morvran 's Slayer challenge . It starts out with two charges and uses one up whenever the player dies with it. It will disappear when all the charges have been used up. It is not required to be on Morvran's special slayer challenge for the enhancer to revive the player. This is especially useful in preventing deaths at Araxxor/Araxxi. Furthermore, this will revive the player when fighting against any hard mode variant of a God Wars Dungeon boss involved in the challenge.

Morvran special task... never bossed before?
So I just got 85 slayer, and went to Morvran for a tenth task. I got a special assignment, and didn't actually know what it was. Now I'm kind of horrified by it, because I have literally never done any bossing before, aside from the few easy things you face in quests.
I've got level 80-90 combat stats, except for magic, which is 99. Prayer is only 80. Can I handle this, or should I ask for another task? I don't want to kill my assignment streak, but I'm especially concerned with Araxxi and Dagannoth Kings, especially with having such a handicap on the assignment. The real problem is experience though. I'm a casual player, don't boss, and don't play other games. What do you think?
I don't think I'm up for the task yet, I'll probably cancel since it doesn't ruin the streak. Thanks for the help =D

Slayer challenges are unique challenges occasionally offered by each respective Slayer Masters to players coming to seek a new assignment. It is possible to receive a challenge as a first task from a master. Each master's challenge is different and offers Slayer experience when completed, in addition to the regular slayer experience gained while killing the monsters in the task.
Every Wednesday the chance to get the challenge resets. Depending on your slayer level, the chances start from 1/10 - 1/27 (goes up if you don't cancel task). Once you get the special challenge and you complete or cancel it, The chance to get it increases to 1/100. I literally get it almost every other task, it is very annoying.

Join us! Question about Morvran's special slayer assignment. This is not a rant. I've finished Morvran's slayer assignment twice now, and now I'm working on my third. My questions is about the black gems that are permanently unlocked at the end of the assignment. I've tried doing research on the matter, but I've had no luck.

Can I Have Some Morvran? is an achievement that requires the player to complete a slayer assignment that was assigned by Morvran and has been both preferred and extended. The assigned task does not have to be on the preferred list prior to assignment. A task can be received (or forced by using a monster specific slayer mask/helm), then preferred by spending 100 slayer reward points.
Movran's Special Slayer Assignment. When Prifddinas was released, Mod Osborne created a huge list of things which Jagex would hopefully one day add to Prifddinas. This included things such as the ability to sit on benches, more experience from dark cores and improvements to Movran's special slayer assignment.

The only advice i can give you is use and abuse the Beta game. Go on the Beta to practice kills without wasting supplies. Im currently trying out araxxor on beta before facing her in real RS. Don't kill mole second, do it third to last. It's a cakewalk boss, even on hard mode.

A Slayer assignment or Slayer task is given by Slayer masters. When you kill the assigned monsters, you get Slayer experience, which you wouldn't if it weren't your assignment. In addition, some monsters killed as part of a slayer assignment either have improved drop rates for specific item(s) and access to drop(s) that are otherwise unobtainable if killed off-task.
