Best Prezi alternatives

Short answer

What are the best alternatives to Prezi?

The best alternatives to Prezi are:

You need to create slides that stick, not just spin

Picture this: you're in a meeting, watching a Prezi presentation. At first, the zooming transitions and spinning visuals seem fun.

But as minutes tick by, instead of focusing on the content, you're trying to keep up with the whirlwind of animations. What was meant to be engaging now feels like a roller coaster you didn't sign up for.

True interactivity in presentations isn't just about flashy transitions or spinning slides. It's about creating a two-way conversation with your audience, allowing them to dive deeper into topics they care about, at their own pace.

In this post, we'll dive into the best Prezi alternatives, exploring websites, apps, and software that can transform your presentations from mere visual spectacles to truly interactive experiences that will wow your audience and inspire them to take action at the end.

Let’s go!

What are some factors to consider when looking for a Prezi alternative?

With so many Prezi alternatives out there, knowing what to prioritize when looking for the right one for your needs can get overwhelming.

Let's break down the main factors you should be considering:

User interface and ease of use: A tool should be intuitive to ensure smooth sailing even for first-time users.

Interactive elements: Engage your audience with dynamic features that foster two-way communication.

Customization capabilities: Tailor your slides to your taste to make sure they resonate with your unique message.

Collaboration features: Teamwork makes the dream work. Opt for tools that facilitate seamless group efforts.

Pricing and licensing: Ensure the tool fits your budget and offers the licensing flexibility you need.

Integration options: A great Prezi alternative should play well with others, integrating smoothly with your existing software.

Offline access: Sometimes, the internet can be fickle. Having offline access ensures uninterrupted presentations.

Support and resources: A dedicated support team and a variety of resources can make your presentation journey smoother.

Is there a free Prezi alternative?

Several Prezi alternatives offer free versions, such as SlideDog and Genially . These platforms provide basic features at no cost, allowing users to create engaging presentations.

There are also tools like Zoho Show that are completely free to use. However, for those serious about their presentations, investing in premium features can be a game-changer. Premium plans often unlock advanced design capabilities, interactive elements, AI assistance, and more.

While Prezi has long been a favorite, there’s a fresh lineup of contenders that are worth exploring. Whether you're seeking more interactive elements, craving a touch of AI assistance, or simply looking for a free alternative to Prezi, we’ve got you covered.

How to choose the best Prezi alternative for your needs?

Finding the right presentation platform can seem daunting with so many options out there. However, by honing in on your specific needs, you can identify the ideal Prezi alternative that aligns seamlessly with your objectives.

Let's explore the top choices based on different use cases:

For personal use

When it comes to personal projects, you'll want a platform that feels intuitive right from the start. It should effortlessly guide even the most novice users through the creation process.

The ability to customize, to truly make a presentation your own, is invaluable. And once your masterpiece is complete, sharing should be a breeze, whether you're posting to social media or sending directly to friends and family.

Biteable takes the lead in this category. Its intuitive design, coupled with a rich array of templates, ensures that even novices can craft visually appealing presentations without a hitch.

For business

In the business world, presentations are more than just visuals; they're tools of persuasion and information. The platform should support dynamic and interactive elements, turning passive viewers into engaged participants.

Integration with other business tools can streamline processes, and having access to analytics can provide invaluable insights, helping refine future presentations for maximum impact.

Storydoc is the standout choice for business professionals. Designed with sales, marketing, and other corporate needs in mind, it elevates traditional presentations into dynamic narratives.

With features like AI-driven design and real-time analytics, Storydoc ensures your business presentations are both striking and strategic.

For education

For educators, the challenge is twofold: conveying information while keeping students engaged. The ideal platform would support interactive learning, perhaps through quizzes or puzzles, transforming passive lessons into interactive experiences.

Collaboration is another key feature, allowing students to work together on group projects or presentations. And with plenty of educational content to share, easy distribution methods, be it through direct links or integration with learning platforms, are essential.

Genially is the top contender for educational purposes. Its focus on interactivity, from quizzes to gamified elements, ensures that lessons are not just informative but also interactive, making learning a two-way street.

Interactive presentation templates

Transitioning from Prezi might seem like a leap, especially when you're used to its familiar interface. But what if there was a bridge to ease that transition?

Enter interactive presentation templates . These templates are designed with the user in mind, ensuring each slide and element actively engages your audience. The result are presentations that aren't just viewed but truly experienced.

From business proposals to research reports and even personal showcases, there's a template tailored to maximize your content's impact.

Grab one and see for yourself.

Top 10 Prezi Alternatives & Competitors in 2024 (Free/Paid)

Picture of Kevin Frei

  • April 23, 2024

We all experienced it at one point—being an audience in an uninspiring presentation is not fun. Have you ever heard of “Death by PowerPoint”? Traditional presentations get the job done but often lack a modern aesthetic and interactive touch.

Prezi answered all these by eliminating the concept of “slides” in favor of non-linear presentations. This tool moves from one object to another with dynamic transitions, making explanations easier, more interactive, and visually appealing.

However, when used too much, the transition often leads to visual fatigue or motion sickness for some viewers. The effectiveness (and performance) usually suffers if you add more content. You can’t download or share your files unless you’re a paying member.

Looking for a Prezi alternative? Let’s explore other presentation tools that still offer Prezi’s best features while addressing some drawbacks.

Top 10 Prezi Alternatives & Competitors in 2024

1. google slides.

One of Google Slides ’ strengths is providing real-time editing and comments. Two or more people can collaborate in real-time to improve their presentations. Because the revision and history are unlimited, any changes can be reverted with just a few clicks.

It is a no-fuss, no-frills tool that works even with a suboptimal internet connection or computer. Best of all, these collaboration functions are free to use. Prezi’s presenter view, remote/live, analytics, PDF export, and downloads are hidden behind their paywall.

The platform also has Audience tools designed to facilitate discussions with functions like:

  • Accept Q&As
  • Review Sessions
  • Vote on Questions
  • Direct integration with Google Meet for live presentations.
  • User-friendly, with a simple interface and permission controls.
  • Accessible to almost any device and platform.
  • Responsive, robust, free Prezi alternative.
  • Controls are accessible (changing layouts, skipping slides, etc.)
  • Limited design premade layouts and design options.
  • The transitions and animations are basic.
  • Only offers a few advanced presentation functions.
  • No video export, a must-have for some users. .
  • Free (Included in Google Workspace)
  • Capterra: 4.6 out of 5 (6,388 reviews)

If you combine Canva and PowerPoint, you’ll get Powtoon . This platform primarily makes explainer videos, clips, and social media posts. However, you can also create interactive presentations with voiceovers for live presenting or sharing online.

What sets Powtoon apart is its use of “scenes” or pre-designed content that users can repurpose based on their objectives,  skipping most of a presentation’s “designing” part.

Here are the things you can customize:

  • Props

You can create your templates or scenes, but for the easiest experience, try the software’s AI designer or other premade layouts covering various industries, including marketing and sales, internal comms, learning and development, and more.

  • Offers templates, characters, shapes, images, videos, music, and props.
  • Allows easy swapping, locking, flipping, and colorizing of materials.
  • Features sleek and fun transitions beyond basic options.
  • Integrates with Teams, Canva, Google Drive, and more.
  • Performs poorly on slow internet connections, potentially not running at all.
  • There are occasional minor glitches when editing texts and object placements.
  • Costly for users who only need the presentation functionality.
  • Lite ($50/month)
  • Professional ($190/month)
  • Agency ($117/month)
  • G2: 4.4 out of 5 (230 reviews)
  • Capterra: 4.5 out of 5 (392 reviews)

3. Storydoc

St o rydoc shares the same DNA as Prezi regarding its core focus: storytelling. Each presentation is called a “story,” it can be shared and played by anyone with access to the unique link.

Unlike Prezi, Storydoc shows the presentation like a full-fledged website that you can navigate using mouse scrolling or arrows. Surprisingly, this approach can keep the user scrolling through your presentation to see more of your products or services.

Viewing stories in StoryMode is a great experience. Users don’t have to install additional software to open their stories on mobile or other devices. So far, the platform can create pitch decks, proposals, reports, sales decks, case studies, and more.

  • They offer a clear preview of their templates, so users don’t need to pick blindly.
  • Stories work great on mobile; the app automatically formats content on screen.
  • You can view analytics using different angles (story, location, sender, time, etc.)
  • Media files load fast (compared to other competitors).
  • Sharing links is easy, and it loads fast on the client’s end as well.
  • For its pricing, the Starter Plan has a lot of limitations.
  • Custom AI Deck generator is only available for Teams Plan.
  • Automation is only accessible with the Team (enterprise) package.
  • Starter ($40/month)
  • Pro ($60/month)
  • Team Plans (Contact Sales)
  • G2: 4.8 out of 5 (39 reviews)
  • Capterra: 4.1 out of 5 (19 reviews)

Most people know Visme as a tool for creating both digital and print content (including infographics, charts, documents, printables, and more). But its bread and butter is its presentation software, which is simple to use and easy to get great results.

You can also embed information from third-party platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, HubSpot, or Typeform. Additional features are the easy-to-use CTA elements, AI Designer, and an integrated Calendar for convenience.

Other presentation software with AI functionalities will process prompts; the final result will depend on how much effort you put into creating the prompt. This software deviates from this system by offering a chat-like interface that lets you continuously use AI to refine your content.

  • Color palette changes apply to all slides, enhancing design consistency.
  • Timeline preview options enhance video and presentation editing.
  • The object List panel facilitates easy item editing or removal.
  • Offers widgets and dynamic fields for data management.
  • Limited storage of 5GB in the Premium plan.
  • Subscriptions are needed to export files in various formats.
  • Minimal collaboration features are restricted to sharing and comments.
  • Pro Plan limits extras to brand kits, analytics, and privacy controls.
  • Starter ($29/month)
  • Pro ($59/month)
  • Enterprise (Contact Sales)
  • G2: 4.6 out of 5 (405 reviews)
  • Capterra: 4.5 out of 5 (649 reviews)

5. Zoho Show

Zoho Show is a part of Zoho’s cloud software suite, a handy online presentation software that can be bought as an add-on if you already have a Workdrive or Workplace subscription.

This tool is an optional add-on with a minimalistic design and essentials-only features. It is handy if you already use Zoho’s other products. It lets you see presentations in your organization.

Due to its barebones approach, the UI is not overcrowded with icons that users would use once or twice when creating a presentation. Commonly used items such as text, media, shape, and data art are neatly organized at the top for ease of use.

  • It can be significantly cheap if you invest in the Zoho ecosystem.
  • Completely fast, despite missing some features.
  • Available on any device (as long as you have an internet connection)
  • Decent collection of themes, from motion design to travel, remote home, and economics.
  • There are no AI resources, which some of the top competitors have.
  • You need to have an internet connection all the time.
  • Limited collaboration tools compared to the free Google Slides.
  • Free (Basic)
  • Professional Plan ($2.50/month)(requires Zoho Workdrive/Workplace)
  • G2: 4.4 out of 5 (67 reviews)
  • Capterra: 4.6 of 5 (26 reviews

Focusky is one of the most accurate alternatives regarding functionality and visual similarities. It uses the “path,” a navigational route that a Focusky presentation follows, to eliminate the linear “feel”  like Prezi does with its “frame” functions.

Premium subscribers can export presentations into videos, HTML, zip, and even standalone Windows applications. Unfortunately, Focusky requires users to download and install an application to create and publish presentations, which might only be optimal for some users.

  • Very similar to Prezi, emphasizing the relationship between two slides
  • There is a recording function similar to Zoom for quick voiceovers.
  • Quick access to timer, recorder, and fade in/out options.
  • Can directly support Photoshop (PSD) files
  • You can add custom interactions on objects for immersion.
  • Users need a Windows desktop to run the application and create presentations.
  • Requires users to download templates before you can preview/use them.
  • Very crowded UI, with suboptimal icon placements.
  • Animation plays when editing, making it laggy during editing and presentation.
  • There are a lot of ads that load in the app (if you’re a free user).
  • Standard ($9.9/month)
  • Professional ($99/year)
  • Enterprise ($399/permanent)
  • G2: 4.1 out of 5 (19 reviews)
  • Capterra: 4.4 out of 5 (10 reviews)

If you want to give more personality to your presentations (or make explainer videos), Vyond is an excellent choice as a Prezi alternative. It has a vast selection of business-friendly assets (characters, backgrounds, and prompts) that you can use to convey various scenarios.

Due to its drag-and-drop interface, Vyond is surprisingly intuitive and performs snappily as a video maker. It is not recommended if you’re going to present for a specs-driven product or concept, but it is a good idea if you’re trying to sell the story.

  • Has a vast selection of assets, content, and templates out of the box.
  • It offers AI tools like instant video translation,text-to-prompt, and video-to-action.
  • Offers quality-of-life improvements (such as Shutterstock integration and notes).
  • UI is great for users with no experience in graphic design.
  • 1080p export is only available in the premium package (second tier)
  • You might need to create your props if the content library doesn’t have them
  • Online-only service, no access if Vyond servers are offline.
  • The lack of collaboration tools is noticeable.
  • Essential ($49/month)
  • Premium ($89/month)
  • Professional ($179/month)
  • Enterprise (Contact Pricing)
  • G2: 4.7 out of 5 (306 reviews)
  • Capterra: 4.7 out of 5 (245 reviews)

Emaze doesn’t use unique gimmicks or features to stand out against other Prezi alternatives. However, all its features work as intended and are optimized for online deck creation.

The platform provides attractive templates and fast performance for those who need to prepare decks at scale. With this focus, getting the essentials is better than making a comprehensive tool that hogs down resources.

In addition, Emaze can be an alternative presentation tool if you’re on a budget or need a great tool with comprehensive analytics built-in.

  • Pricing is way cheaper compared to other Prezi alternatives.
  • Performance-wise, it is snappy and fast, even on crowded templates.
  • You can use a custom domain when sharing your presentation links.
  • Basic team and collaboration tools need to be paid for.
  • As per our testing,  the PDF / PTX import doesn’t work.
  • Pro Plan ($9/month)
  • Business Plan ($25/month)
  • Executive Plan ($29/month)
  • Enterprise Plan (Contact Sales)
  • G2: 4.4 out of 5 (99 reviews)
  • Capterra: 4.5 out of 5 (13 reviews)

9. Slidebean

Slidebean is a barebones presentation software with the tools to effectively create, edit, and share well-crafted decks. But what makes it stand out from other alternatives to Prezi is its bespoke assistance from its team of deck experts.

Most of their premium offerings include in-house coaching assistance to ensure your story perfectly encapsulates your brand/company (starts at $399 per project). Unfortunately, you can’t share your files if you’re on a free tier/trial.

Slidebean is also the only platform in this list that offers a very rudimentary implementation of a contact management tool, making tracking investor contacts and other info easy.

  • Analytics show unique visitors, total views, and completion rates.
  • It is cheap if you don’t need additional coaching and other Sliebean services.
  • Great for not-for-profit organizations who need to manage funding efforts.
  • It has options to set up and track fundraising documents (including brand deck, company profile, one-pager, investor pitch deck, financial model, and investor finder).
  • You can create presentations for free, but you can’t share them.
  • Templates and presenter previews could be better compared to other competitors.
  • All Access ($12/mo, billed annually)
  • Accelerate ($99/mo)
  • G2: 4.5 out of 5 (25 reviews)
  • Capterra: 4.1 out of 5 (59 reviews)

10. Genially

You can describe Genially as a presentation maker combined with other tools like gamification, interactive media (images, videos, guides), training materials, and more.

With its media presentation editor and interactive elements, proactively setting navigation spots on your deck requires little effort.

  • It lets you add predefined page layouts, so you don’t have to redo individual pages.
  • Assets and other resources are available to use upon the first run.
  • You can use interactive elements to engage audiences ( timer, stopwatch, coin flip, etc).
  • You can view other users’ work for inspiration (community files).
  • The platform loads everything simultaneously, requiring a beefy computer and internet.
  • Templates are less eye-catching compared to the competition.
  • The online editor can be clunky, depending on your internet connection.
  • Pro ($7.49/mo, billed annually)
  • Master ($20.82/mo, billed annually)
  • Master – Team Package ($16.65/member/mo)
  • Team ($14.15/member/mo)
  • G2: 4.6 out of 5 (56 reviews)

15 Best Prezi Alternatives 2024

Prezi is a presentation tool that has a flexible and dynamic overall layout that allows users to adapt on the go and move easily between topics, without needing to flip through several different slides.

When you adjust your delivery to concentrate on what your audience likes the most, you’ll have folks engaged and invested through a conversational presentation.

However, with that said, Prezi might not be the ideal software for everyone. For starters, it’s kind of hard to use and you might find yourself having to Google how to use some features.

Furthermore, you may have issues operating it remotely online, especially if you don’t have a good internet connection. This can be even more stressful considering you’ll need to run your presentations from the cloud.

If you’re looking for some of the best Prezi alternatives perfect for companies and organizations of 5 to 1000 employees, you’re in the right place. There are several tools out there that can perform equally as well that may be a better option for you.

Whether your priority is user rating, affordability, or ease of use, you’re bound to find something you like with the alternatives below. Instantly compare and explore alternative software that has the same features and tools as Prezi.

Let’s get started.

Best Prezi Alternatives

1. adobe presenter.

presentation sites like prezi

This software program, like Prezi, is designed to help you easily create high-quality multimedia presentations. This platform similar to Prezi uses PowerPoint, one of Microsoft Office’s most popular applications, as a base.

One of Presenter’s most interesting features is it has a simple interface that allows you to use a mic to add any audio narrations to your presentations, which is something you won’t find on Prezi. Additionally, you can also easily sync PowerPoint animations with your audio narrations.

Adobe Presenter’s complete integration with PowerPoint and its intuitive user interface removes the need for Flash programming and additional training. Presenter lets you add audio narration, step-by-step instructions, music, or almost any kind of audio to your presentations.

You can use this software to create interactive e-learning multimedia presentations that are AICC and SCORM-compliant and that can work on learning management systems . This is another thing you can’t get from Prezi.

Another interesting tool on Presenter is the Quiz Manager application, which allows you to create either multiple quizzes on one presentation or one quiz for many different presentations. You can add to these quizzes survey questions, graded questions, or a blend of both.

Quizzes have Objective IDs, which are numbers that specify an objective set in the Connect Enterprise Server or learning management system.

2. Google Slides

presentation sites like prezi

One of the best things about this Prezi alternative is that it doesn’t take much for you to start using it.

There is nothing to install, nothing to download, very little to learn, and nothing to pay. To collaborate with others, create slideshows , and quickly and easily make your presentations on the platform, all you need is a Google account.

Another plus is that you can use it to generate unique URLs where your audience can ask you questions in real time. Like Prezi, Google Slides is a great presentation software, especially for collaboration purposes.

Keep in mind that Slides is one of Google Docs’s many components, and there’s a version in G Suite that was initially dubbed Google Apps for Work.

If you have used presentation software before, then you should have no problem learning how to use Google Slides. It’s an easy-to-use app that has a recognizable and clear user interface, with notes at the bottom, toolbars at the top, and a preview of the user’s slides on the left.

What you’ll require to create standard slideshows will either become visible or be visible as soon as you need it. For instance, when you’re moving things around the slide, a guide will pop up to assist you with alignment.

3. Apple Keynote

presentation sites like prezi

Apple Keynote, like Apple Numbers and Apple Pages, is a component in the iWork Suite. Like Prezi, this presentation tool has a minimalist approach as far as the overall design is concerned.

Currently, Keynote is available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and online via iCloud.

There are many different reasons why you should strongly consider using this great presentation software similar to Prezi, but the one that stands out the most is that it’s designed around templates that help make it quicker and easier for the user to create digital presentations.

Furthermore, even though you may have to start from scratch, it’s not hard to move on and create the next masterpiece once you’re done with other designs.

When it comes to the features and tools you can expect from Keynote, you are going to adore everything about the platform’s templates. These templates are arranged in different categories, like editorial, portfolio, or craft, and are designed to satisfy many different needs.

Additionally, the platform also allows you to create unique templates as foundations for future projects, and you can assess these templates via iCloud using any device. Keynote’s pre-packaged templates include Chalkboard, Kyoto, and Improv.

4. Mentimeter

presentation sites like prezi

Mentimeter is a presentation and collaboration tool that allows users to create lectures, workshops, events, and informative presentations. This application has more than 20 million active users globally.

Many people like this alternative because it doesn’t take a long time to learn how to use the program and it helps make presentations a bit more memorable when compared to what you’ll get from a basic PowerPoint presentation.

Additionally, unlike Prezi, the app allows you to let your audience submit questions, create quizzes , and run live polls. For business people and educators alike, this multi-use tool is something they’ll adore because it has dynamic and colorful responses that pop up in real time.

Another great thing about this software is that it has QR Code capabilities to allow for smooth mobile integrations.

The fact that Mentimeter handles the overall design aspect for the user, means that you can make any presentation you create on the platform look professional.

5. Microsoft PowerPoint

presentation sites like prezi

Microsoft’s on-premise presentation software PowerPoint, like Prezi, allows professionals to share, edit, and create slides so that they can communicate with external clients, team members, and other stakeholders.

An administrator on the platform can monitor all the changes made by collaborators and insert their own embedded images, icons, shapes, tables, animations , etc, within PowerPoint decks. Furthermore, as a manager, you can use customizable templates and themes to create presentations with transitions.

A huge reason why a lot of people prefer to use PowerPoint instead of Prezi is that it’s extremely easy to use and incredibly beginner friendly, especially if you are already accustomed to Microsoft Word. The slideshow and animation features and tools bring life into presentations which, in turn, helps make them less boring.

Like all good-quality presentation software, PowerPoint is made up of a wide array of impressive and intuitive features and tools. Its template library has many different premium and free templates that one can use as a foundation for new projects and presentations.

All users have access to free templates, but the premium solutions can only be accessed by those that have subscribed to Microsoft 365.

6. CrankWheel

presentation sites like prezi

One of the best things about CrankWheel is that you can share your screen while on a call for a more engaging presentation, which is something you can’t do on Prezi. Furthermore, you can send links via SMS or email and the receiver can view them on any web browser, or any mobile device without having to install anything.

Specifically designed to be easy to use, CrankWheel is perfect for those of you who want to share your display screen with stakeholders and customers to help encourage better business experiences. You can effortlessly share your screen with team members, no matter the device you’re using or your technical skillset, using its Chrome extension plugin.

This collaboration and presentation software easily integrates with many different sites and allows its users to include Demo button functions in their presentations for quick notifications.

However, where CrankWheel beats Prezi, as well as many other alternatives in this article, is that it works just fine even with a bad internet connection, on old browsers, and on obscure mobile devices. Whether you’re on Internet Explorer, Android, iOS, PC, Mac, etc, the software will always work.

This app is incredibly popular among sales teams, digital marketing agencies, and insurance companies, and most of the firms in these spaces use it for collaboration purposes such as the onboarding of customers and staff alike.

Business organizations, especially smaller entities, understand how hard it can be to create the presentation and marketing components they need to succeed in their space. Online advertising, social media posts, investor slide decks, etc, all take some skill and time to create.

Visme, like Prezi, is a software that combines features and tools from both the collaboration and presentation spaces. It’s a one-stop-shop that allows users to create high-quality visual assets , like slideshow presentations, storyboards, infographics, and so on.

Visme’s library is loaded with great templates, animations, stock images , and other interesting features. This means that you can use ready-made samples and change them into your own branded content.

A good template is often defined by how long and how easily a user can stick with it. However, Visme wants to give you options and this is why it has such a big gallery of templates, music, royalty-free images , etc, that you can use to help you define your own presentation.

Additionally, the platform supports several different app integrations, mainly to allow users to pull data and assets they’ve already stored somewhere else, which is a department Prezi needs to really improve in. You’ll also have access to a Slack integration that will notify you when a file changes, like when collaborators add comments.

presentation sites like prezi

This is a web-based tool similar to Prezi that people use to make interactive presentations and so on. It is mainly used in the education and marketing spaces but it’s got a wide array of functionalities and capabilities.

Powtoon’s foundation is in its templates, like a lot of the platforms similar to Prezi above, which is a good and bad thing. There are three different template categories, namely Personal, Education, and Work.

However, unlike Prezi, templates can also come in many different aspect ratios, meaning the size and dimensions of the final product can vary. For instance, a 16:9 video clip is what most will expect for standard horizontal presentations or videos , but this program also has a couple of templates that have an aspect ratio of 1:1, for those that want to make social media content.

When it comes to media, Powtoon allows you to use this in many different ways. For starters, you can add media to any template you’re currently using.

The template will have a huge marked spot where the user can insert their media of choice. When you push the insert prompt, some pop-up options will appear; Settings, Edit, Crop, Flip, and Swap.

9. Renderforest

presentation sites like prezi

This all-in-one branding program offers you some of the best web-based tools and features to create high-quality video presentations, logos, mockups , etc, with minimal effort and time.

Many people like this Prezi alternative so much because you can use its online logo maker function to build memorable and unique templates without having to hire a professional design team.

Renderforest has a video editor that’s similar to Prezi that allows users to create excellent explainer animations, slideshows, introductions, and several other kinds of video presentation content without needing any technical skills.

Just browse the platform’s video template library, pick a template, use your browser to edit it, and create an engaging presentation in the blink of an eye.

In addition to all this, it also makes it possible for users to create modern and responsive sites without needing to have special coding expertise. You can build a site from scratch or edit pre-packaged template designs using the program’s in-built tools.

presentation sites like prezi

Sozi is a web-based, open-source presentation tool that, unlike Prezi, uses JavaScript and SVG to allow its users to create animated presentations.

Unlike many other presentation programs, including Prezi, Sozi documents aren’t organized as slideshows. Instead, they’re organized as posters where the main part of the user’s presentation can be laid out seamlessly.

Playing such presentations consists of a set of rotations, zooms, and translations that have allowed you to concentrate on the specific elements you’re looking to highlight.

The presentation editor in Sozi is meant to help you organize your presentations based on existing SVG documents that you need to create separately.

Presentation content on this platform is usually made using the vector graphics editor function that supports SVG formats.

presentation sites like prezi

Marp is a similar program to Prezi in that it’s a presentation and collaboration tool that uses markup language. Its Markdown markup language allows you to create CSS and HTML slideshows in your presentations.

The software comes with three built-in themes, but you can also upload plain CSS to put your own stamp and design on the available decks. Additionally, the platform also allows users to export to PDF, PowerPoint, and HTML.

This open-source presentation software integrates well with VC Code and allows users to generate previews in real time.

Marp’s Markdown Presentation Ecosystem is ideal for software engineers and web designers because it allows them to streamline all their presentations with customizable slideshows.

12. Microsoft Office Sway

presentation sites like prezi

Many people consider Office Sway a consumer, lightweight version of Microsoft PowerPoint. However, this is a new breed of software that allows users to create “stories”, similar to Adobe Slate which was only for iPad.

Like Prezi, however, Office Sway gives users an easy way to craft images and words into appealingly navigable, well-designed presentations that one can view online.

Not many presentation tools out there have a simpler user interface than Sway does. The display screen is mostly blank with a few huge tiles, as well as a couple of sample projects, including the Creature application which dons a Nautilus image.

13. DeckDeckGo

presentation sites like prezi

Similar to Prezi, this web-based, open-source editor is meant to help you spice up your presentations. All the presentations you create on this platform will be changed into PWA which you can then view anywhere.

This software uses web-based tech like TypeScript, CSS, and HTML, so if you’re familiar with any of the aforementioned applications, then you can imagine what one can do with that knowledge and expertise on presentation slides.

However, with that said, there are also much easier ways to start building templates on this platform.

The ‘Write a Presentation’ tab on the website is one of these ways. This feature allows you to sign up and start creating your first presentation immediately, but it also has its limitations because there’s a lot you can’t edit when using this feature.

14. Zoho Show

presentation sites like prezi

Zoho Show also allows users to present, collaborate, create, publish, and broadcast presentations in a simple and smart way. This tool features a clutter-free and clean user interface design that allows your stories and content to be the main attraction.

You can focus on creating compelling presentations with zero distractions.

Additionally, this presentation and collaboration software has a wide range of intuitive features and tools like tables, charts , shapes, and formatted text boxes that allow you to enhance and organize your data visually. Furthermore, you can also add media to your slideshows such as tweets, images, and videos.

Like Prezi, you can also collaborate and share slides on the platform. You can work with your collaborators and team members in real-time, as well as comment, edit, or view slideshows based on the kind of access you have.

Lastly, Zoho Show is supported natively on Android, iOS, Apple Watch, and Apple TV, which means you can carry your slides and presentations anywhere. You can use Android devices to edit your slides on the go.

15. Storydoc

presentation sites like prezi

Using Storydoc, you can change static slideshows into interactive and eye-catching presentations. You can use Storydoc for pitch decks, reports, landing pages, sales decks, proposals, etc.

It has a simple interface that makes it easy for users to create great marketing and sales presentations that can cut through all the noise and increase conversion and customer engagement rates. Furthermore, the app is also generally easy to modify and doesn’t require you to have coding or design skills .

In addition to all this, it has pre-packaged templates that you can use from the jump to start creating interactive presentations that seamlessly integrate with several other programs, apps, and tools.

Finally, you can use Storydoc to convert PDFs and PowerPoints into animated website pages. The tools and features on the platform can be used to build interactive slides and presentations.

If you’re accustomed to using Prezi to help you spruce up your slideshows and presentations and don’t think there are not many other alternatives that can help you do the same, think again. These are some of the best Prezi alternatives currently on the market.

For me, the best out of all of them has to be Adobe Presenter, the number one entry on the list. A huge reason why it takes the top spot is that not only does it have an easy-to-use interface, but there’s also a mic feature that allows users to add audio narrations to their presentations.

Furthermore, you can also create great e-learning multimedia presentations and slides that are AICC and SCORM-compliant. If you’re looking for the best of the best, then Adobe Presenter is your best bet.

presentation sites like prezi

Prezi is a cloud-based video editing tool primarily used for creating interactive slides and presentations (called prezis for short). It has gained a lot of popularity amongst schools and other educational institutes for its easy-to-navigate interface.

Prezi has a lot of similarities to presentation software like Microsoft Powerpoint and Google Slides, but its bevvy of templates and host of unique features such as adding audio files to frameworks, presentation controls, and social sharing give it an edge above the rest.

If you’re looking to make engaging and eye-catching presentations, Prezi is the tool for you. However, it offers little video editing features that can help you do more than trim videos and create presentations.  If you’re looking for a more robust editor with better creative control, it’s time to look at other alternatives, which is exactly what we will be covering in this article.

The addition of basic editing functions and an in-built stock media library make it easy to create professional videos in minutes.

Who is Lumen5 for?

One of its biggest advantages is that it comes with pre-built marketing storyboards and over 3,000 licensed music tracks to help make your videos more engaging and fun. 9.  Adobe Spark

Adobe Spark

A part of the Adobe Spark creative suite, Adobe Spark Video  is a wonderful alternative to Prezi thanks to its intuitive interface, a huge selection of fully customizable templates, a large font library, and its sharing and collaboration tools.

While it is not the most advanced editor on the list, the platform was designed for everyday storytelling, so it covers the needs of both marketers and the average user.

Who is Adobe Spark for?

It is best for creating short videos — think bite-sized Instagram videos or Story ads. Thanks to the intuitive interface, even beginners and newbie video creators can experiment and create eye-catching visuals.

10. Biteable

Biteable

Biteable is one of the simplest, most intuitive video makers online and is most popularly used to create animated slideshows, explainer videos, and motion graphics.

However, most of the templates that Biteable offers are in the animation and motion graphics space, so if you're looking to create a non-animated promotional video , YouTube video, or an Instagram reel , it might not be the best fit.

But even so, its non-cookie-cutter collection of stock assets, animated graphics, and templates make it stand out compared to other editors. The customization falls short in some ways, but that’s compensated with how easy it is to use, especially if you’ve never edited a video before.

Who is Biteable for?

Biteable’s diverse collection of easy-to-use templates makes it perfect for businesses, marketers, agencies, and the average video editing enthusiast working on a short project. If your project relies heavily on animation or motion graphics, in particular, Biteable will be a great fit for you.

Their templates span everything from product launches and infographics to video wedding invites .

Biteable Key Features

- Hundreds of unique templates for both personal and professional use  - Drag-and-drop interface for quick and easy video editing - Import your clips, photos, audio and enhance it with Biteable’s quirky assets and animated graphics

Biteable Pros

- A clean, minimal user interface which is super easy to navigate for beginners - Unlimited exports - Hundreds of ready-made animations, 1000+ templates, and 1.8M+ stock images and videos, including live-action, animated, and claymation (a form of stop-motion animation)

Biteable Pros

- A vast library of fonts

Biteable Cons

- The free version does not support 1080p resolution. - Stock music and transitions library is quite limited. - Some aspects of customization can get cumbersome e.g. text elements are all grouped and cannot be resized separately. - Shared editing and projects only available in the highest-tier paid plan (Ultimate.) - Does not support multiple audio tracks. - Pricing is on the higher side, especially in comparison to the limited features on offer. - 1080p resolution not supported on the free plan. - The collaboration feature is only available with the highest-tier paid plan.

Biteable Pricing

- Ultimate (professionals): $588/year - Team: $2,500/year

Wrapping up

While Prezi is a great platform for marketers and educators to create exceptional slideshows and presentations, it doesn’t offer much for professional editors who want more flexibility and control over the editing process. Switching to other cloud-based alternatives such as InVideo can solve this problem to a huge extent.

If you want to dive deeper into what makes a good online video editor in 2021 and why InVideo fits the bill, check out this video where we do a detailed walkthrough of all InVideo features and what they enable you to do.

5 Best Prezi Presentation Alternatives

In the last couple of years many people have been searching for innovative ways to create executive, unique, and memorable presentations. PowerPoint was exciting in the early days of its launch, but too many boring presentations led to the creation of new software like Prezi. Prezi helped to prevent us from falling asleep during presentations, but the zooming in and out effects of their software, and limited manipulation capabilities, called for more options and new players in the presentation market.

What are the best alternatives to Prezi Presentations?

1. powtoon – best prezi alternative.

Of course, our very own Powtoon made the top of our Prezi presentation alternatives list! We love our suite of animated characters, library styles, backgrounds, awesome templates, and special effects. The best part about Powtoon is that the finished product will look professionally designed, and so creative, that your audience will think you hired a professional to create it.

To show you what we’re all about, take a look at this video. Our simple, fun interface requires you to simply drag and drop elements and characters, and the rest is pure magic!

Powtoon is perfect for educators, students, small business owners, and entrepreneurs. It is even great for designers who wish to flex their creative side without having to fuss with designs from scratch.

2. Powtoon Slideshow – Best Slideshow Prezi Alternative

Powtoon has taken design and slideshow presentation software to the next level with our new product, Powtoon Slideshow. We have created a product that will allow anyone to create a professionally designed presentation in mere minutes with only a few clicks of the mouse. To make your experience with Slideshow seamless we have limited customization options, but if you are a presentation superstar you can open your Slideshow presentations within our Powtoon studio for full customization abilities. Slideshow is the perfect blend of funky fun animations and stunning designs that will give you a presentation that will leave any audience in awe.

#Slides

Editor’s Note: Since writing this post, Powtoon both in video and slideshow form exists as one seamless tool. The same P owtoon creation can even be used for both, simply by switching the toggle from ‘Movie’ mode to ‘Slideshow’ mode.

3. Haiku Deck – Mobile Prezi Alternative

Calling all iPad users! This Prezi presentation alternative was made just for you! Who doesn’t love to take their iPad everywhere and use apps for almost everything? Haiku Deck is an easy, free app download that allows you to create great presentations in minutes. Images can be easily accessed from your own photo albums, the supplied stock photos, or through a quick internet search… All from the same menu. This software does all the work so you don’t have to stress, but the app is limited to iPad users and has fewer features than some of our other favorites.

4. RawShorts – Prezi Alternative

RawShorts is a winner in the video presentation category. With an instinctive interface that doesn’t seem to require heavy tutorials, you can create any kind of video that you desire. These kinds of videos are important for websites, blogs, YouTube channels, and all other kinds of demos. However, RawShort falls a bit short on the presentation side of things. You are not really able to integrate slides with your video.

5. Sparkol VideoScribe – The Scribing Prezi Alternative

We included this great software in our top five Prezi presentation alternatives because it is very unique. VideoScribe software sketches the desired characters for the viewers, which makes any story come to life. This style of video hooks the audience and creates intrigue. This is not geared for live presentations but certainly works well for online video presentations.

Our Bonus Prezi Presentation Alternative

“Slid.es”, as their name suggests, really explains what the company offers. It is great for slideshow presentations. It is perfect for quick and easy professional looking presentations that don’t require animation or too many effects.

Since there aren’t any templates to choose from, you only have to rely on great visuals. The good news is that Slid.es is HTML5 based, and integrates movable GIFs to give the illusion that there is video integrated into the presentation. This is also a great Prezi presentation alternative that you should definitely check out!

Turning Insights Into Action With Emaze Analytics

The top 4 prezi alternatives in 2023.

  • July 3, 2020

presentation sites like prezi

Table of Contents

Prezi is a fantastic presentation tool, but if you’re looking for a platform that doesn’t go overboard with the zooming in and out effects (we know, it can get confusing), you’re in the right place!

To save you the trouble of looking for the best alternatives to Prezi on your own, we analyzed 4 different presentation platforms and summarized our findings for each one!

1. Emaze – The Best Prezi Alternative for Non-linear Presentations

emaze editor

Of course, our very own software made it to the top of the list! While we may be a bit biased, emaze has some incredibly unique features you won’t find anywhere else. For example, our Remote Presenting Tool allows you to give live presentations on any virtual meeting platform, making it easier for your colleagues or clients to join from anywhere in the world. While Prezi is famous for its zooming effect, or nonlinear navigation (which makes it possible to go through the material in your presentation without having to stick to a strict order), this layout can be confusing, especially if the presenter or viewer doesn’t know how to use the functions. Emaze has a large collection of non-linear presentation templates (we call them 3D templates) that in our opinion, are easier to follow and designed to help presenters present coherently.

  • Pros: When it comes to 3D effects, selection of stunning templates, and in-depth analytics , emaze is completely unrivaled.
  • Cons: There is no option for offline editing.

Who should use this presentation software: Emaze is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to create beautiful presentations, but we think that students, teachers, and entrepreneurs will benefit the most from using this tool.

Try emaze out for free !

2. Haiku Deck – A Great Alternative to Prezi for Mobile Presentation Creation

Haiku Deck editor

Haiku Deck created a bunch of buzz when it launched back in 2010. We love that this software gives users the ability to create and edit presentations on mobile devices in addition to the web. Because of how easy the user interface is to use, we quickly mastered the platform. But, Haiku Deck falls short when it comes to its features. While this software contains your basic slide layouts and the ability to upload images and videos, it doesn’t offer much more than that. However, if you are looking to create presentations on a phone or tablet, don’t overlook this quick and simple solution.

  • Pros: Creates aesthetic and clean-looking presentations. Platform is extremely simple to use.
  • Cons: Lacks many features that other platforms offer.

Who should use this presentation software: Haiku Deck is a great option for traveling salespeople who need to create professional-looking presentations while on the move.

3. Slides – An Excellent Presentation Tool for Developers

One of the most fascinating alternatives to Prezi we discovered was Slides. Slides is one of the only open source presentation tools that allows you to fully customize your creation using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, making it the perfect solution for developers and designers! Additionally, because it’s so easy to share presentations that can be edited remotely, this platform is great for team collaboration. Unfortunately, we encountered certain UI glitches that made using this platform a little difficult to use (such as dragging and dropping certain objects).

  • Pros: Unique platform with an easy-to-use interface.
  • Cons: Various UI glitches. Several import and compatibility limitations.

Who should use this presentation software: This platform was created for developers and designers who need to prepare professional presentations.

4. Pixxa Perspective – A Fantastic App for Chart-Crazy Presenters

Pixxa created an insane charting app. If you are a chart junkie you will love this app, just as much as we did! Although, we can’t really call this a Prezi alternative because it’s not a real presentation tool, it is wicked cool and we think that it is a great option for  displaying complex data in charts. Unfortunately, this app is not only outdated, but also has several noticeable glitches.

  • Pros: With Pixxa you can create dynamic charts that you can add to your presentations. What’s not to love?
  • Cons: Pixxa is only available on iPads and iPhones, and upgrading to the Pro plan is expensive.

Who should use this presentation software: Anyone who is looking for creative ways to present data in their presentation!

The world of presentation software is rapidly expanding, and each new option brings fresh concepts and features to the table. Depending on your needs, you can choose to use one, or even several of these incredible platforms. We hope that you enjoyed reading about these 4 alternatives to Prezi as much as we enjoyed using them!

Wrapping It Up

The main reason why anyone would look for an alternative tool is usually the price or the lack of features. Or, to be more precise, the lack of features somebody needs.

If we sum up our 5 Prezi free alternatives, each of them does an excellent job creating presentations.

And if you want even more alternatives, jump to our article on 5 Best Prezi Alternatives .

However, which one might be best for you is a different story.

If your main focus is primarily on creating presentations, Google Slides or Keynotes might make the best choice.

On the other hand, Genially offers more variety and types of designs, but their number is limited in the Free plan.

Focusky is a robust tool in its own right, but you can only create videos, which isn’t always optimal or what you need. In addition, free designs come with a watermark.

That leaves only Glorify.

Are Prezi Presentations A Thing Of The Past? What Alternatives To Prezi Are There?

Table of contents.

Picture this: you’re in eighth grade and you’ve just been assigned a presentation for your Geography class. You immediately log onto your favourite presentation builder that will blow your classmates away – Prezi.

Prezi is a web-based presentation software, similar to Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides, that was popular amongst business professionals and students alike for a number of years.

Prezi’s features combined eye-catching and customizable templates with creative transitions or animations that wowed audiences.

However, many presentation designers or business professionals may be wondering: is Prezi a thing of the past? And, if so, what is an alternative to Prezi that I should use?

In this article, we will answer both of those questions and explore the world of presentation design.

What Is Prezi's Market Share Of The Presentation Market?

While Prezi may have been the hottest presentation software a few years ago, its popularity and market share have been steadily decreasing , especially when compared to the presentation giants like Microsoft PowerPoint and Canva.

According to 6sense , Prezi has been loosing market share:

Prezi’s market share is sitting at around 3.37%. Canva is the leader in the industry with just over 36% of the market and Microsoft holds roughly 29%. 6Sense

Is There Still A Market For Prezi Presentations?

While Prezi’s market share is quite small, there is still a market and use for this presentation software .

If you’re looking for a large library of fun and interactive templates, you might find that Prezi has more offerings than other platforms. Additionally, because of the platforms non-linear design, Prezi can be fun to interact with when creating your presentations.

However, many of the features that Prezi offers are also available on other alternatives and Prezi competitors.

The bigger challenge you’ll have is finding a specialist that works in Prezi and does a good job. Luckily, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve been knocking it out of the park with Prezi presentation design services for the past 10 years, and counting!

What Are The Top 3 Prezi Alternatives Companies Are Creating Presentations With Now?

Whether you’re creating promotional videos, detailed presentations, or a media library of training materials, great tools and features in your software can make all the difference.

Here are some Prezi alternatives and the different presentation controls and editing tools they offer to users.

PowerPoint Presentations

PowerPoint by Microsoft is one of the most well-known and trusted presentation software platforms out there.

While it may offer fewer features to some newer platforms out there now, it has truly stood the test of time as it continues to be used by students, teachers, small businesses, and mega-corporations for presentation building.

Getting Started

Not only is PowerPoint fully compatible with other Microsoft products and platforms, but it also offers a wide variety of templates, tools, animation elements, and editing features that even the most beginner of users can use when creating a Powerpoint presentation.

To help with understanding the features of the software, PowerPoint has an in-built wizard that helps users get started and create their slides.

It also offers audio and screen recording for presentations you want to record for your library. While the platform may feel outdated, Microsoft has done an excellent job at keeping the platform updated with an extensive tool library.

More Below The Surface

On the surface, Powerpoint provides beginner users with basic editing features that can help users get started with ready-made templates.

As users develop an understanding of the platform, they will discover the other extensive features, team collaboration tools, and video editing options that make it one of the best Prezi alternatives on the market.

Google Slides

Google Slides is a similar Prezi alternative to Microsoft PowerPoint. Along with the social sharing tools, a library of editing tools, and a variety of templates, this is a great option when looking to present your images, videos, and ideas in a creative way.

Compatibility And Easy Access

This Prezi alternative relies on simple tools that can help beginner users create presentations for business and personal use.

Like Microsoft, Slides is compatible with other Google products, making it a great option for Google users. Slides also supports adding audio files, music, and high-quality video to your presentations.

While Google Slides may lean more on the basic features, it is still a great platform and one of the best alternatives to Prezi for both businesses and individuals. As well, it is a free tool that can be used when you create a Google account.

Canva is one of the newcomers in the presentation market. This platform offers users the option to create a wide variety of media, from logos and business cards to videos, websites, and book covers.

The free version gives users a solid selection of free content and a library of elements they can use when designing their presentations; however, the paid version offers many more options and usability when creating your content.

Canva's Extensive Media Library

Canva supports various video types, whether you’re creating video content or a presentation. It utilizes a drag-and-drop interface that allows users to manipulate each element from the library available to them. Additionally, there are gifs, stickers, and other animated characters available in both the paid and free plan.

Is Canva Worth It

As a Prezi alternative, Canva stands out for its design options and wide variety of templates or formats for you to choose from.

Even though you may have to purchase a plan to access more images, features, and formats, Canva’s free tool library alone makes it one of the best Prezi alternatives.

Are There Any Disadvantages To Still Using Prezi?

While Prezi does boast an extensive template library and a variety of animation options, it doesn’t always stand up against other presentation giants like Slides or Powerpoint.

One of the biggest disadvantages, especially when compared to other platforms , is the strong learning curve needed to get the most out of the platform.

Because of this, a Prezi alternative that is more accessible and that offers more advanced features might be a better option for businesses or professionals.

Should I Consider Switching To An Alternative To Prezi?

Split path thorough a forest with signs

That’s entirely up to you. If your current presentation is already on Prezi and you’re happy with it, stick with it. If you feel it’s time for a change, or you’re looking for something different, we can help you there too.

As new software’s become available, it’s always worth considering a change to something that may suit your current needs a little better.

Our Final Thoughts On The Current State Of Prezi

While Prezi’s tools and memorable presentations did have a moment, it is not always the best option for you and your business.

If you’re looking for advanced features, fully customizable templates, collaboration tools, and a user-friendly interface, you’re better off considering an alternative to Prezi.

In complete transparency, after talking with our clients and understanding their needs we often try to move them away from Prezi to a platform that is better suited to what they are looking to achieve. That being said, what is right for one company isn’t right for another. We work with every unique situation to get the best results for our customers.

Where Can I Find A Company That Creates Presentations In Prezi?

Busy schedules and high-priority tasks can often take over the time you might need to create beautiful presentations for your business. Businesses and marketing professionals often turn to design agencies who can create these materials for your purposes.

Many agencies offer presentation services using other platforms like Slides or Canva. However, if you’re looking for a skilled design team who offers Prezi services , Presentation Geeks is the best place for you!

Cover for guide on the best Canva alternatives selected by SlideModel

Canva is credited with being the go-to platform for creating graphic design projects. We can make banners, infographics , social media posts, business cards, and, why not, presentations. The main problem users tend to find is that due to Canva’s extensive reach worldwide, creating presentations in Canva becomes repetitive—almost as if the same person built all slide decks.

Pricing and tool capabilities are also important, especially when comparing Canva to a dedicated presentation software such as PowerPoint. In this article, you will find what, in our experience, are the best Canva alternatives—not just websites like Canva—to create professionally designed slide decks for your presentations. Some of these tools will be standalone applications, others third-party add-ins for existing software. Without further ado, let’s get started.

Complex data can be transformed into a series of customizable graphics, which can even be repurposed for updates on the same topic or to present to a different audience.

Don’t Work from Scratch – Mix and Match PPT Templates

One of the main advantages of using professional PowerPoint templates is that you are in charge of which graphics you want to integrate into your slide deck. For instance, you can find a powerful diagram that’s exactly what you need, but it doesn’t bear the same aesthetic as your previous slides. Presentation software like PowerPoint easily allows us to copy/paste slides and apply a common presentation theme to reach a cohesive design.

Mix and match PPT templates with SlideModel

This degree of customization offered by SlideModel takes the burden off of designing slides from scratch. It’s a mere question of finding the graphics you need to tell your story and merging them into a common PPT theme. In this way, countless hours of designing your layouts get reduced to minutes, allowing users to focus on the content and the presentation speech.

Compatibility Across Multiple Platforms

If you were concerned that your presentation software isn’t PowerPoint, then put that worry to rest, as SlideModel products are compatible with Google Slides and Keynote. Each and every product available at SlideModel.com gives accurate information about their compatibility, with over 80% of its catalog being fully compatible with other presentation software (only complex shadow effects, complex shape placeholders, and some animation effects may not be available in other software, hence the reason why it won’t display the compatibility).

Google Slides compatibility from SlideModel templates

SlideModel’s designers know presenters’ needs, especially when securing compatibility for a presentation delivered on a different device than your personal computer. That’s why you won’t find hard-to-come-by font families, premium images to buy, and any other restrictions platforms like Canva throw on users. Any element of the slide deck is entirely editable, giving users a smooth experience regardless of the computer, operating system, or presentation software of their choice.

AI Tools for Presenters

If all the perks we’ve mentioned weren’t enough, SlideModel recently launched its Gen-AI presentation software, SlideModel AI , targeting users who strive to populate their slides with content. This project is driven by users’ feedback, especially those who must create presentations in a hurry and may feel blocked when it comes to picking a design, making their presentations shorter, or just needing guidance to start their work.

SlideModel AI presentation maker

SlideModel AI is an intuitive tool that integrates LLM technologies and AI image generation. Users simply select the number of slides, give the tool a detailed prompt to generate the presentation’s outline, select the design to apply, and that’s it. A presentation is crafted in a matter of a couple of minutes – which is also fully customizable and can be further edited in presentation software like PowerPoint or Google Slides.

A Free Canva Alternative

If you don’t want to commit to a subscription or you’re looking for Canva alternatives free, SlideModel also offers a library of free PowerPoint templates covering a wide range of topics. These products were made for presenters by seasoned presenters, so you won’t feel held back by not having a premium subscription. This is ideal when you’re on a tight budget and need to bring a project to life with a powerful presentation.

If all this isn’t enough, you can learn about the most common questions asked by presenters in fully detailed guide formats through the SlideModel blog . PowerPoint and Google Slides how-to articles, detailed case studies with slides, how to prepare and present specific kinds of talks, and so much more.

Get to know seven different apps like Canva that can do wonders for your presentations. Some of these tools are intended for graphic designers, but with the proper learning time, you can master these tools and go beyond the limits of your imagination when creating new slides.

When we need to deliver a presentation in a non-sequential format, Prezi is the tool to use. It allows users to create zoomable presentations that allow for a more dynamic storytelling experience.

Prezi’s interface is built around the concept of a large canvas on which you can place all your presentation content. Instead of moving from slide to slide linearly, Prezi allows the presenter to zoom in and out of specific canvas sections. This feature is handy for presentations where flexibility in content delivery is key, as it allows users to explore ideas more organic and non-sequentially.

  • Visual Engagement: Zooming in and out of different areas of the canvas helps highlight key points and can leave a lasting impression, making it ideal for presentations where engagement is a priority.
  • Cloud-Based: Like Canva, Prezi is cloud-based, which means users can create, edit, and present their materials from anywhere with internet access. This offers convenience, especially for users who travel frequently or work remotely.
  • Collaboration: Prezi allows for real-time collaboration, meaning multiple team members can work on the same presentation simultaneously, similar to Canva’s team collaboration feature.
  • Limited Design Capabilities: Prezi primarily focuses on presentation design, which means it lacks the broader design features offered by Canva or other presentation software.
  • Subscription Costs: Prezi offers a free version, but its more advanced features, such as offline access, branding options, and analytics, are only available with paid subscriptions. While Canva also offers paid plans, its free tier is more feature-rich, making Canva a better choice for users who want more flexibility without upgrading to a paid plan.
  • Overwhelming Effects: While Prezi’s zooming feature is visually appealing, it can be overused, causing dizziness or distraction for some audiences.

Adobe Express

This application, formerly known as Adobe Spark, is a direct competitor to Canva in terms of tools and usage. As part of the Adobe family, it integrates well with other Adobe products, so it’s ideal for creative professionals who need to create graphics for different channels, such as social media and presentations.

Like Canva, Adobe Express provides users with an easy-to-use interface, a library of templates, and customization options for creating social media graphics, flyers, presentations, and more. However, Adobe Express distinguishes itself with some unique features and integration within the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, giving it an edge for certain users, especially those needing advanced photo editing, typography control, and branding options.

  • Integration with Adobe Creative Cloud: One of the standout advantages of Adobe Express is its seamless integration with other Adobe tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom. This integration allows users to easily transfer assets between platforms, making it a great choice for those who may want to tweak images in Photoshop or create vector elements in Illustrator and then import them into Adobe Express for simpler, quick design tasks.
  • Advanced Photo Editing Features: While Canva offers basic photo editing tools, Adobe Express provides more advanced features for editing images. Users can adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and more with greater precision. Adobe Express offers a simplified solution for those requiring more detailed photo adjustments but don’t want to switch between multiple platforms.
  • Custom Branding: Adobe Express allows users to create custom branding kits, including logos, fonts, and color palettes, which can be applied consistently across all designs. This is especially beneficial for businesses that need to maintain a cohesive brand image across multiple types of content, from presentations to social media graphics.
  • Subscription Model: While Adobe Express offers a free plan with basic features, many more advanced features, such as additional templates, branding kits, and premium fonts, are only available through the paid subscription plan.
  • Learning Curve for Adobe Tools: While Adobe Express is designed to be user-friendly, the broader Adobe ecosystem may have a steeper learning curve for those unfamiliar with Adobe’s software. Users accustomed to the simplicity of Canva might find Adobe Express slightly more complex due to its Adobe Creative Cloud connections and more advanced features.
  • Limited Offline Access: Like Canva, Adobe Express is a cloud-based platform, meaning an internet connection is required to use the service. For users who need to work offline or in areas with limited connectivity, this can be a drawback.

CorelDRAW is an industry-standard vector graphics editor that serves as an excellent Canva alternative for users who need more advanced graphic design capabilities. While Canva is great for basic design needs and offers an intuitive, template-driven approach, CorelDRAW gives users far more control over every aspect of their design, making it particularly useful for professionals and businesses looking for custom presentation designs.

  • Custom Design Flexibility: Unlike Canva’s template-driven approach, CorelDRAW offers total creative freedom. Users can start with a blank canvas and design every detail from scratch. This flexibility is ideal for professional designers and businesses that need unique, custom visuals not bound by pre-set templates. You have more control over every element, from shapes and colors to typography and layout, providing greater creativity.
  • Multi-Page Layout Capabilities: CorelDRAW is also equipped with tools for creating multi-page documents like brochures, magazines, and catalogs. Canva, while user-friendly, does not offer the same level of functionality when it comes to handling complex layouts, making CorelDRAW a better choice for businesses that need detailed printed materials with multiple pages.
  • Professional Photo Editing: CorelDRAW includes Corel PHOTO-PAINT, a powerful photo-editing software. This allows users to perform detailed image retouching and manipulation within the same suite. Canva offers basic photo-editing features, but they pale in comparison to the professional tools available in CorelDRAW. If you need to combine high-quality photo editing with graphic design, CorelDRAW is a better option.
  • Instability: CorelDRAW is famous across the graphic design community for its erratic behavior, particularly when working with heavy-sized files containing numerous layers. This can cause Corel Draw to crash randomly when trying to save a file or because it triggers a RAM overload.
  • Overkill for Simple Projects: For users who only need to create basic designs like social media posts, posters, or presentations, CorelDRAW may be overkill. Its robust feature set is unnecessary for simple, template-based designs that Canva handles quickly and easily. Canva’s drag-and-drop interface and vast template library make it better suited for users with minimal design needs or tight deadlines.
  • System Requirements: Current versions of CorelDRAW may be taxing on RAM, video graphics card, and processor requirements, which can limit its usability on older computers.

Affinity Designer

Affinity Designer is another strong Canva alternative, particularly for users seeking professional vector design tools without the cost of a monthly subscription. Unlike Canva, which is based on templates and offers limited control over design elements, Affinity Designer allows users to create custom graphics and presentation elements from scratch.

It is ideal for professional designers, marketers, and businesses needing complete control over visual elements. It’s perfect for users who must create custom illustrations, icons, or other graphics for presentations without relying on pre-made templates. Its affordability and advanced tools make it one of the best alternatives to Canva for those needing more flexibility.

  • Cross-Platform Compatibility: Affinity Designer works on macOS and Windows and even offers a mobile version for iPads. This cross-platform functionality provides flexibility for designers working on their projects from different devices. Canva, though cloud-based and accessible from any device, doesn’t offer the same level of offline editing capabilities that Affinity Designer provides through its desktop and iPad apps.
  • Precision and Performance: Affinity Designer is designed for professional-level precision, offering advanced features like gradient controls, Boolean operations for shapes, and precise alignment tools. These features enable designers to create intricate and polished designs with ease. Additionally, Affinity Designer is known for its smooth performance, even with large files or complex projects, something Canva struggles with when handling high-resolution or intricate graphics.
  • No Subscription Model: One of the biggest advantages of Affinity Designer over Canva (and Adobe Illustrator) is its pricing structure. Affinity Designer offers a one-time purchase model, providing users with a full suite of design tools without needing a monthly or annual subscription. This can be a significant benefit for users seeking a powerful design tool on a budget compared to Canva’s subscription-based pricing for premium features.
  • Not Cloud-Based: Affinity Designer is a desktop application, meaning it does not offer the cloud-based functionality that Canva does. Canva allows users to access and edit their designs from any device with an internet connection. At the same time, Affinity Designer requires the software to be installed on each device, with no cloud-based collaboration features. This could be a drawback for teams or users who prefer real-time collaboration.
  • Limited Collaboration Features: Canva offers robust collaboration tools that allow multiple users to work on the same design in real-time, making it great for teams or collaborative projects. Affinity Designer, while powerful for individual use, lacks this built-in collaborative functionality. For users who frequently collaborate with others, Canva’s team features may be more appealing.

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator is another powerful Canva alternative for users who need high-quality, scalable vector graphics. While Canva is ideal for simple, quick designs, Illustrator provides industry-standard tools for creating custom, intricate designs, making it a favorite among professionals who need more flexibility and precision.

Adobe Illustrator offers detailed control over every design aspect, including vectors, shapes, typography, etc. This makes Illustrator the preferred tool for users who need to create logos, icons, and custom illustrations inside their slides.

  • Advanced Vector Editing: One of Illustrator’s main advantages over Canva is its ability to create and edit vector graphics. Vector images are scalable, meaning they can be resized without losing quality, which is essential for projects like logos, icons, and print materials. Canva primarily works with raster-based images, which can become pixelated when resized. Illustrator’s vector editing tools offer complete flexibility and precision, making it ideal for professional design work.
  • Custom Typography: Illustrator provides advanced typography tools that allow designers to precisely create and manipulate text. Users can customize fonts, add effects, and control spacing, kerning, and alignment in ways that Canva’s text tools cannot match. This is essential for branding projects where typography plays a key role in conveying the brand’s identity.
  • Steep Learning Curve: Adobe Illustrator is a professional-grade tool with a much steeper learning curve than Canva. Due to its vast array of tools and features, users with no prior design experience may find Illustrator overwhelming. Canva, on the other hand, is much easier to use and is designed for users of all skill levels.
  • No Ready-Made Templates: Illustrator doesn’t provide ready-made templates, unlike Canva, which offers thousands of templates for quick designs. Everything is created from scratch, which can be time-consuming for users who need to produce designs quickly.

For users who want to create presentations focusing on data and storytelling, Piktochart is another fantastic option among Canva alternatives. Piktochart specializes in infographics and visual storytelling, making it one of the top design sites like Canva, but with more emphasis on data visualization.

  • Ease of Use: Piktochart’s intuitive interface is very similar to Canva, making it easy to pick up for users who are familiar with design platforms. You don’t need to have graphic design skills to create polished visuals.
  • Flexible Templates: Like Canva, Piktochart offers a variety of templates that you can easily modify to fit your needs. However, its library focuses more on infographics and data-driven visuals, making it a better choice if that’s your primary focus.
  • Fixed Layouts: While Piktochart offers pre-built templates for ease of use, the layouts are often rigid, making it harder to fully adapt designs to specific needs without distorting the overall aesthetic.
  • Limited Animation Options: Piktochart lacks robust animation features, making it unsuitable for users looking to create animated presentations or highly interactive designs.

Movavi Video Editor

While Movavi Video Editor and Canva are both tools aimed at creators, their core functionalities differ. Canva focuses on graphic design, allowing users to create images, social media posts, presentations, and various visual content, while Movavi is specifically designed for video editing. If you’re looking to create video content rather than still images, Movavi Video Editor serves as a strong alternative to Canva when your focus shifts from static designs to dynamic, engaging video content.

Movavi Video Editor is a beginner-friendly yet feature-rich tool for video creation and editing. It’s perfect for individuals and businesses that need to create professional-looking videos without diving into overly complex software. With Movavi, users can create polished video presentations , promotional clips, tutorials, and other visual content quickly and easily.

  • User-Friendly Interface: Like Canva, Movavi Video Editor is designed for ease of use. Its intuitive drag-and-drop interface makes it easy for beginners to get started, even if they have no prior experience with video editing. The platform’s simplicity is comparable to Canva’s ease of use for graphic design, making it accessible to a wide range of users.
  • Comprehensive Video Editing Tools: Movavi offers a vast selection of video editing features, including trimming, cutting, joining clips, adding transitions, and applying filters. While Canva allows users to add basic animations and create simple videos, Movavi provides more control over the timeline and more advanced video editing capabilities, such as working with audio tracks, adjusting video speed, and adding special effects.
  • No Cloud-Based Collaboration: Unlike Canva, which operates as a cloud-based platform, Movavi is a desktop application. This means users cannot easily collaborate in real-time or access their projects from multiple devices unless the software is installed on each one. Canva’s cloud-based approach is more convenient for team collaboration and remote access.
  • Watermark in Free Version: The free version of Movavi Video Editor comes with a watermark on exported videos, which can be a drawback for businesses or individuals looking to create professional content without branding limitations. Users would need to upgrade to the paid version to remove the watermark, which is similar to Canva’s limitations in its free plan.

The answer to this question entirely depends on the niche in which you work. If you are a creative professional, some of the tools mentioned in this article, like Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, and Affinity Designer, are by far more proficient tools to create jaw-dropping graphics. On the other hand, if you lack a graphics design education and just need software to make your presentations, we highly recommend you work with either PowerPoint or Google Slides paired with SlideModel templates for static graphics or Movavi Video Editor for video presentations.

Yes, Canva is an excellent tool for business purposes, especially for small businesses, marketers, and professionals who need quick, visually appealing designs without advanced design skills.

Canva’s user-friendly interface, assets library, and versatility make it an ideal platform for creating various business assets such as presentations, social media graphics, marketing materials, and business cards. Still, users need to consider that some of Canva’s features are restricted to Canva Pro, such as resizing designs to other outputs, images, typefaces, templates, and more.

While Canva Pro offers several features aimed at businesses and advanced users, more professional design platforms are available that provide greater control and more advanced capabilities. Adobe InDesign, for instance, is a more professional tool than Canva, specifically designed for creating layouts, print designs, and publication-quality documents. For users who need precision in their designs and work in industries like publishing, marketing, or graphic design, InDesign offers far more versatility and control than Canva.

Adobe InDesign is widely regarded as the industry standard for desktop publishing. It’s particularly powerful for creating multi-page documents, such as brochures, magazines, and annual reports, where layout consistency and precision are critical. InDesign offers many advanced tools, including paragraph styles, master pages, and advanced typography options, making it ideal for users who need professional-quality layouts. Unlike Canva, which is template-based and geared toward simplicity, InDesign gives users complete freedom to design from scratch, offering fine-tuned control over every element.

For businesses or professionals working in content creation, advertising, or publishing, InDesign is a more professional choice than Canva. It integrates seamlessly with other Adobe Creative Cloud applications, allowing a smooth workflow between tools like Photoshop and Illustrator. This makes it easier for designers to incorporate complex graphics, retouched images, or custom illustrations into layouts. InDesign also supports high-resolution output, making it ideal for creating print-ready documents.

Another option for professionals seeking a more advanced tool than Canva is Affinity Designer or Affinity Publisher. Both provide high-quality design tools at a more affordable price point. Affinity Publisher is an excellent alternative to InDesign, offering professional-grade publishing tools with a one-time purchase model, making it an affordable yet powerful option for businesses.

As we can see, there are multiple options for creating a powerful workflow for presentation design. Most of these applications will be strictly tied to your graphic design skill levels, but all of them can be approached if you give them enough time to learn their basic functionality.
