No, AIIMS Nursing will be held only via the online mode. The AIIMS nursing 2024 exam will be a computer-based test and the candidates will be allotted separate computer systems to solve the questions. For rough work purposes, the centre will provide them sheets that have to be submitted to the invigilator while leaving the exam hall.

AIIMS offers three nursing courses under its hood. All three courses follow different exam patterns. Exam patterns for various BSc programmes at AIIMS are mentioned as under:

AIIMS BSc nursing 2025 exam pattern follows a two-stage selection process. The two stages are:

  • Stage 1 : Written examination
  • Stage 2 : Personal Interview/Assessment

Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment Scheme

AIIMS will call candidates who will be able to make it to the merit list based on the written exam for the personal interview/assessment round. The second stage will have a weightage of 30 marks. The final merit list will decide the fate of the candidate based on their performance in both stages. Almost three times more candidates will be invited for the interview than the actual number of available seats. The assessment process will count the following criteria:

  • Past academic record in the Higher Secondary or class 12 or equivalent examination
  • Past academic record in the Nursing examination
  • Performance as a Staff Nurse

Q:   Can I skip a question in AIIMS Nursing exam if I don't know the answer? How many marks will be deducted?

Yes, candidates are allowed to skip the questions. No marks will be deducted or given if the question is unanswered. However, if a candidate choose incorrect option then -1/3 mark will be deducted and +1 will be given for each correct answer. 

Q:   Are there subjective-type questions in the AIIMS Nursing exam?

No, the AIIMS Nursing 2024 question paper will have objective-type questions only. The candidates will be served with Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) out of which candidates have to choose one option. It will be a computer-based online entrance exam for which 120 minutes (2 Hours) will be allotted to solve approximately 70 questions. Overall there will be questions from: Physics (30 marks), Chemistry (30 marks), Biology (30 marks), and General knowledge (10 marks).

  • Candidates of the general category should have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 50 per cent in aggregate

  • Candidates should have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university having Physics, Chemistry, English, and either Biology or Maths subjects
  • Candidates from the General/EWS/OBC category should have secured a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 45 per cent in aggregate

AIIMS BSc Nursing (Post-basic) 2025 Eligibility

  • Candidates should have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university having Physics, Chemistry, English, and either Biology or Maths subjects. However, candidates who have qualified for class 11 on or before 1986 can also apply.
  • Candidates possessing a Diploma in GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) from any Indian Nursing Council-recognized institution.

AIIMS BSc Nursing Entrance Exam 2025 is a computer-based test conducted online and has a duration of 120 minutes. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into four sections: Physics (30 marks), Chemistry (30 marks), Biology (30 marks) and General Knowledge (10 marks). There is a negative marking, with a deduction of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer. The total marks for the exam are 100.

AIIMS BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) exam pattern

AIIMS BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) examination is conducted in two stages. Stage 1 is a written examination and stage 2 is a personal interview. The written examination is a computer-based test of 90 minutes duration. The exam comprises multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There is a negative marking, with a deduction of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer. The personal interview is of total 30 marks.

Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET) is an entrance test to recruit nursing officers in AIIMS all over the country. NORCET is divided into 2 sets of examination. One is Prelims, where a candidate have to answer 100 questions in 90 minutes. Remember that these questions will be nursing (80 Questions) and non-nursing (20 Questions) related. Non- nursing questions would be on General Awareness, Aptitude questions and current affairs as well.

Candidates clearing the prelim stage, will move forward to appear in Main Exam, which will also have 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), divided into 5 sections like Prelim exam. In Main exam, all the question will be nursing related to test you and there is negative marking- one-third marks deduction on a wrong answer.

As per the pattern of both the exams, the key to crack NORCET is to study theoretically and practically. Your non-nursing skills and knowledge will be an important part. Never miss current affairs. Revise again and again.
