Handwriting Generator I made a Text-to-handwriting tool to write my college assignments for me 🤓

Hi everyone, I hope you all are safe and doing fine!

I prefer typing over writing and college told us to write some assignments and I was bored.

So instead of spending 1 hour to write assignments, I spent 3 hours to build a tool that writes assignments for me 🎉. It is called Text-to-handwriting (see... I'm really good at naming my projects)

Text to Handwriting converts text content to an image that looks like handwriting. So this is what the output looks like:

• Draw diagrams
• Change font-size, ink color, spacing, etc.
• Upload font button for custom handwritings (so you can create a font of your handwriting from other online tools and upload the font file)

🤓 Guide to add your own handwriting

• To use your handwriting, you will have to generate font of your handwriting.
• There are websites like Calligraphr that let you do that.
• Once you get .ttf file of your handwriting, upload it from 'Upload your handwriting font' button in customizations sections

2. Where can I get more fonts?

You can use fonts from https://www.quantumenterprises.co.uk/handwriting-fonts/fontvault.htm

3. There are gaps between letters in custom fonts

This is a known issue that we haven't figured out the solution for. As a temporary workaround, there is letter spacing and word spacing option to adjust the gap.

4. Where can I request for features and report bugs?

You can't. This is a read-only project and there will not be any improvements in the project

A hobby project in progress which started with the idea of capturing handwriting of a person using a smartphone, make it a font and use it to write any given text using an embedded hardware. Inspired from a friend’s idea who wanted a machine which could write his school assignments for him.

For building the project, you would need to add these libraries. 1) OpenCV4Android Library OpenCV-2.4.11- android -sdk which is available at https://sourceforge.net/projects/opencvlibrary/files/opencv-android/ 2) Tesseract OCR Engine for Android available at https://github.com/rmtheis/tess-two 3) CropImage library by Lorenzo Villani available at https://github.com/lvillani/android-cropimage
