Interior Design Personal Statement

Sample Interior Design Personal Statement

From an early age, I was constantly transforming my bedroom into a range of different looks. I enjoyed working around the challenges posed by rooms which were not simple rectangles, and using soft furnishings to add layers of texture. Having grown up in China, I look forward to learning more about Western cultural influences, and the synthesis this can form with my own inspirations. In Britain, people typically think of ‘Made in China’, but it is my ambition to transform this perception to ‘Designed in China’.

I recently majored in Decoration Art Design at Shandong Vocational College of Industry (Equivalent to UK A-level). This mostly consisted of team projects working through the entire design process, from conceptual ideas to technical drawings, to researching consumer needs, appropriate materials and finance, and then producing our end-products. For one project I designed a successful office layout, for which I scored top in my class. In 2008, alongside my college studies I completed a part-time course in Visual Communication at China Central Academy of Fine Arts. I particularly enjoyed learning about The impact of design on people’s behaviour. I look forward to learning more about this fascinating area at degree level

Beyond the scope of my academic studies, I love reading innovative interior design magazines such as ‘Wallpaper’. I have already had some exposure to British designs through TV shows such as Grand Designs. Watching professionals at work inspires my designs. My ultimate goal is to design a full smart house, with a fully automatic floor that responds and enables you to move positions at the push of a button.

I have supplemented my academic interests with practical experience working at an interior design company last summer. I worked independently to design a new open plan house for a small client. I learnt that in additional to creative flair and technical ability, a good designer must possess excellent communication skills in order to listen to the customer and understand their vision. My designs at this company successfully secured the customer’s approval and were put into creation. I enjoyed visiting the finished room and seeing my ideas transformed into reality.

My language skills (I speak native Chinese, advanced English and basic Japanese) enable me to interact with people from very different cultures, which will help my designs be varied and diverse. I enjoy meeting new people and look forward to moving to the UK to study .

In my spare time I enjoy expressing my creative side through painting, singing and dancing. I also swim throughout the year to build my fitness and will power. I set myself distance goals and then mentally and physically commit myself to meeting them. I apply this same approach to my studies, planning my time carefully and fully dedicating myself to ensure every task is completed to the best of my ability. This attitude will enable me to rise to the challenges faced by university study. Thank you for taking the time to consider my application, I look forward to hearing from you.

Example 1 – Architecture and Interior Design Personal Statement

I think my traits of determination, attention to detail, innovation, and passion for design will help me succeed in achieving excellent grades and professional success in architecture and interior design. After earning my bachelor’s degree in Design, I began to consider the potential meaning a room or structure could convey about a person. A lot about a person’s life and temperament may be inferred from their room. That was how my parents would describe it. They were shocked by the chaos in my room every time they came in. And when they remarked, “Rooms can tell a lot about you,” I was unable to understand what they meant. But learning about architecture made it clear to me how significant each building is and how unique each one is. I am confident that I can offer to the education system your university offers due to my extensive knowledge of architecture, strong project-management skills, and profound imagination. My completion of my bachelor’s degree has proven my excellent degree of professional abilities and my rigorous design methods, among other things. I want to pursue a master’s in Architecture and Interior Design programme in order to broaden my experience and understanding in designing ideas.

My abilities to comprehend, analyze, and create exact concepts with creative thinking are my strongest suit. My engineering degree confirms my inclination for reliability, efficiency, and persistence in design, and I can carry these skills together with it. I decided to continue my education because of my enthusiasm and curiosity for the design world. I believe combining interior design and architecture studies will give me a better understanding of how to improve a space’s visual impact. This would be extremely beneficial for my career. The fusion of two powerful disciplines might deliver fantastic outcomes for its clients.

I have enrolled in pertinent courses in this field in order to enhance my knowledge and develop my portfolio. Through these courses, I was able to get a solid foundation in design principles, interior aspects, and diverse approaches. My internships and projects throughout my undergraduate programme have improved my communication, cooperation, organisation, and research skills. Since this field demands both hard and soft skills, I paid attention to improving both.

After attending the xyz advanced Course, I now have effective and professional-grade tools needed to produce interior and architectural representations. I can develop incredible pictures for practical uses by using these professional tools. I have learnt how to work in a manufacturing environment, effectively employ a range of methods and resources to create models, and use Photo editing softwares to recognise architectural principles.

My determination to flourish in the competitive design industry is represented throughout the courses that I’ve taken. I am confident of my capacity to carry a requirement, evaluate the demands, present a pictorial representation, show the final piece, and analyse the results and process. Considering today’s demanding world, my familiarity with business technologies gives me a huge edge over competitors.

I made a conscious decision to excel in this challenging and quickly changing domain of design by blending my clear architectural and practical designing abilities with my passion for imaginative design. I was driven to push my limits and accomplish more by my creativity and innate curiosity. By doing this course, I wish to pave the way for a future in which I can work as an interior designer and architect for any major firm in India. I intend to establish my own interior design business once I’ve accumulated the expertise and resources necessary. I believe my credentials and skills make me a strong applicant who is eager to achieve success in this program and in the future.

Example 2 – Interior Design Personal Statement

I have always been someone who continuously changed the appearance of my bedroom. I would add different items I have made and rearrange the furniture in my room to vary the appearance. I never seemed to be happy with how my room looked, according to my parents. I was constantly altering it. Actually, I liked solving the little hurdles my room presented. I look forward to discovering more about the impacts of western art and culture as I grow older since it will help me develop my own vision. I became acquainted with the design world due to my degree in Decorating Art and Design. I was able to better grasp designing through working in a variety of teams, developing concepts, and seeing them through to completion.

I really enjoy understanding how design affects how people behave. This interior design master’s programme can be helpful in learning more about the subject on a more comprehensive level. Understanding international design and current events is essential since the curriculum offers a wider viewpoint. So, in order to broaden the area of my academic studies, I began reading creative interior periodicals. I expanded my knowledge of the world through reading magazines and journals, watching interior design programmes, and attending seminars. These had a big influence on my designs. I want to build a career through this course that will enable me to accomplish more in life.

After earning my degree, I spent two months working for an interior design firm. As an intern, I helped the team leaders with planning and designing. Besides that, I realised that an interior designer needs to be a master communicator in order to comprehend their clients’ needs and meet them. This is in addition to having strong technical skills. Also, I had the chance to work individually with a client in this company. The customer enthusiastically endorsed my designs and ordered them for production. I’ve never felt as content and delighted as I did when my designs started to come to life. Since that moment, I’ve made every effort to devote my attention in the field as it brings me the most joy.

My ability to communicate with people from very different places and communities is made possible by my proficiency in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Malayalam. As a result of my encounters with these clients, my works have become more inventive and fruitful. One of the key aspects of this field that I find most appealing is the chance for personal growth. There is always room for improvement, and by enrolling in this programme, I expect to discover additional chances to socialise with others and discover other cultures.

Painting and dancing are two ways I like to use my leisure time to showcase my talent. I establish long goals with myself and make a conscious effort to achieve them both emotionally and physically. I take the same attitude for my academics, properly organizing my time and giving every task my complete focus so that it is done to the highest of my ability. With this mind-set, I will be able to meet the challenges of university education.

Spaces, in my opinion, can significantly impact our lives. Through this course, I hope to change and enhance people’s lives. I want to work as an interior designer in the future, and I want to create spaces that draw people in and inspire them. In addition to utilizing my abilities, I want to impress the company I will be working for. I feel my passion and insight of this subject make me a qualified candidate for the Interior Design degree offered by your respected university.

How to Write the Best Personal Statement for Interior Design

February 7, 2019

A personal statement is an opportunity to tell the admission committee about everything that is not required to be provided within the framework of other mandatory documents, or at least to expand this information with fascinating details and reflections. We’ve asked professional personal statement writers from WriteMyPaperHub.com service to share their insights on writing a personal statement on interior design and other related majors. Some of these tips to start a personal statement may seem obvious, but you should make sure to follow them.

 • Writing a personal statement focus on a specific university. In any case, do not submit a general essay that would “come off” in any university. The personal statement should show the admissions office why you want to study in this university, and not somewhere else, and prove to that there is no one more suitable for them than you. Writing about interior design, focus on your insights related to this topic.
 • Do not make the entry boring and long. The admissions office checks hundreds of similar statements a day, so if your introduction is again mocked by the question asked by the examiners, then you risk immediately losing their attention. The beginning of the essay should be bright and fascinating, describe your most vivid idea on a given topic or tell a story that explains your way of thinking and character. You are writing about yourself but related to the interior design. However, you should not spend all the given space talking about your childhood insights on the issue.
 • Do not try to tell too much. The introductory personal statement is not a book or even a term paper, so it’s better to focus on one topic and back it up with good versatile arguments. Of course, the primary topic is YOU, but often colleges and universities want you to answer extra questions related to the interior design in your personal statement.
 • Your statement should not be impersonal. This work should have your unique style, handwriting, and ideas; it should stand out among hundreds of similar essays and report many interesting things about you. Don’t be afraid to be original, but at the same time make sure to follow all the instructions. You are not supposed to write a poem or sing about yourself — just write a personal statement with original content and make sure to link it to the interior design creatively.
 • Do not forget to proofread your statement before sending it to the admissions office. Several times go through the grammar, punctuation, spelling and stylistic component, and even better, let your friend or professor read your statement. Remember, you can use online proofreading services or pay an editor from a writing service to read your paper and edit it professionally. It will still be your work and your work only, but it will be freed from all those mistakes and technical omissions.
 • Do not try to be a prankster. Straining humor is unlikely to make the selection committee much fun, but even if you are 100% sure of your comedy gift, just in case, check your joke on a few people who read your essay before sending.
 • Do not impersonate yourself. Members of the admissions committee are well aware that there are no ideal students, so if you can conclude from your essay that you are a talented athlete with flawless grades in all sciences and months of volunteer work behind your back, the examiners will quickly conclude that you are describing your dreams, not reality.
 • Do not ignore the question you are asked to answer in the personal statement if any. The application form at any university contains a number of topics that you need to cover in the introductory essay. These topics are listed here far from being a smart word and not to give you a general idea of the content – the admission committee really wants to get an answer to these questions.

My initial obsession with physics has further complemented my efforts to explore interior designs. Through several projects and internships, I have acquired relevant industry knowledge to demonstrate my creativity and manage projects. Eventually, this would help me contribute to the academic environment of your institution through peer knowledge sharing. I am in the final year of my Bachelor’s program of Engineering in Electrical Engineering. My projects and marksheets speak for my research skills, conceptualizing ideas and maturing them, as well as meticulous techniques for design. Channelizing my problem-solving abilities and incepting fresh ideas, I would love to capitalize on what the industry brings to me.

The first sentence of your personal statement is like a hook. Online courses at Coursera have further bolstered my understanding over the last couple of years. Besides, I have completed a certificate program on interior designing from The Interior Design Institute, India. In the process, I have developed my rudimentary skills, working on different drawing techniques and interior elements. Besides, this training program also strengthened my visual vocabulary, which I believe, would leverage my profile significantly in the world of competitions. This course, along with my internship, has significantly helped me gain professional competence, as I worked on both commercial and residential designs for our clients.

In this third paragraph, you will bring more clarity to your acquired professional skills and aptitudes. You must write this paragraph:

Between 100 and 120 words in length

Showing the different steps you took to enhance your skills and strengths

Using simple words that easily get communicated

Fourth Paragraph – Mention Your Software Competence

Particularly, I would mention my interest in Vray Advanced Course and 3DS Max, both of which strengthened my skills at the industry level. During my leisure hours, I find immense gratification, as I deploy these tools to produce high-quality visuals to be applied in the practical field. Besides, I am familiar with working in various production environments for clients, deploying a wide array of materials and techniques. The endeavours I have taken over the last three years of my graduation have enabled me to produce realistic sources of light, texture models and render scenes. Often times, I can enter an open room and simply visualize the possibilities of what that space can be. I possessed this knack from a young age. I found a thrill from organising spaces in a unique and creative manner. Much to my parents’ chagrin, Martha Stewart and Mary Kondo were my idols. As I grew, I start conceptualising about how a space can be used and endless possibilities for remodelling and expansion. After watching countless interior design shows and amassing a vast collection of Architectural Digest and Better Homes & Gardens, I realized my true passion lay in interior design. I would like to apply to the Interior Design program at University X because it will equip me with the skills and tools I need to design liveable and sustainable spaces.

In high school, I had the opportunity to complete an internship at Perfect Designs. The experience gave me a unique sense of satisfaction that I have never experienced before. Imagine being able to create a space that fulfils both form and function, while enhancing a person’s well-being. That’s what interior design means to me. As an intern, I assisted with showing room layouts and drawings to potential clients. I loved interacting with prospective customers, determining their needs, and translating it into something tangible through sketches and drawings. It was also exciting, learning about a client’s vision for the room and transforming it into something doable. It was a unique and rare opportunity when I acquired the chance to create interpretative drawings of my own using SketchUp Pro. The software brought to life what I was envisioning. In one occasion, I used my drawing on the virtual reality platform, Microsoft HoloLens. I was able to literally walk through a project that I was working on. More importantly, it enabled the client to see my ideas come to life. Although this internship position was for only three months, it was instrumental in harnessing my creative and analytical energies. I decided that this something I want to do lifelong.

After graduating high school, I decided to pursue the Bachelor of Architecture with a specialisation in Computer-Aided Design degree at the National Institute of Technology in Calicut. This specialisation expanded my skills in using CAD software. I learned how to draft precise drawings and technical illustrations. In addition, the subjects Architectural Drawings, Design Applications, and Architectural Appreciation were my favourite. For my thesis, I examined suburban homes for modern families and how to incorporate sustainable building practices. My thesis was much appreciated by my professors. I graduated from the architecture program in XXXX with an X CGPA. While I waiting to hear a response from potential employers, I continued to enhance my design expertise by taking additional certification courses such as Computer Aided Interior Design, SketchUp, and Floor Planner.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I love exploring museums and historical edifices. I enjoy examining how spaces were utilised in various historical periods. What fascinates me is how design is reinvented in every generation. During this time, I started delving into notable architects who transformed the face of design. The likes of Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, and Frank Gehry, caught my attention. I loved how they were able to extend design beyond the limits of imagination.

Five months after graduation, I was hired as an Assistant Designer at BG Design Studio. In this role, I visualized and sketched design plans according to the client’s requirements. I learned how to source materials and products for projects. I also improved in determining costs and overseeing projects to ensure that it was on track and met the requirements of the client. I have worked at this studio for the past two years and loved every moment. I have reached a pinnacle in my career where I want to expand my acumen in planning and product design. This prompted me to search for design courses that offer this expertise, which eventually helped me discover the program at your university.

By attending the Interior Design program at your renowned institution, I will get a chance to hone my skills and talents in organisation and planning. I will be exposed to some of the most talented and creative professionals in this field. To learn from these experts is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity itself. After graduating from the program, I aspire to work at top tier architectural firms in India such as X, Y, and Z. I believe that with my unique skills in planning and product design, I will be a unique and creative asset to any firm. In the future, I envision seeking my master’s degree in architecture and design. I would also like to be a part of academia and teach budding designers.

The opportunity to study the interior design program at your university will serve as a launching pad for bright and rewarding career for me in interior design.

You don’t have to write long and winding sentences to show your readers that you are adept in writing. What’s important is that you get straight to the point so you won’t waste your readers’ time. Remember! There is no space to use the complex language and include the unnecessary details in your personal statement. No one has time to translate your language and ultimately your application will get negative remarks.

Your personal statement should be written in a professional tone as befitting this course. Even if you will be adding personality to your writing, don’t forget to write professionally.

To write an inspiring and winning interior design personal statement, it is highly recommended to take inspiration from already winning interior design statement examples.

Don’t forget to follow the essay format when writing your interior design essay. Your paper should have an introduction, body, as well as conclusion so your readers will understand the flow of your statement.

What Cliches You Should Avoid

 • Don’t start your interior design personal statement by explaining your history and background.
 • There is no need to start the personal statement by writing the quote of a famous personality. Readers will think it just wastage of time to read these quotes.
 • Always avoid including obvious clichés in your statement such as “From my childhood, since I was ten years old etc…
 • You should never include unproven statements or claims about yourself such as “I am sure that I am highly motivated person” etc.
 • Don’t include idioms and phrases again and again your personal statement.
 • You must have to avoid lies, plagiarism and exaggerations in your personal statement.

How to Write a Residency Personal Statement with Examples from a Program Director

Residency programs receive thousands of applications from qualified candidates, and your personal statement provides the chance for you to show a program why they should choose you.

For Kamran M. Mirza, MD, PhD, Professor of Pathology Education at Godfrey D. Stobbe, the residency personal statement is the first piece of the application that he reads. So, it’s important to make it count.

Use your voice to show them why you’re the perfect match for their program. It could be the thing that tips the scales in your favor.

Remember, it’s called the residency “match” for a reason. Programs aren’t just looking for the best candidates; they’re looking for the best match for their team and culture. Your personal statement is your opportunity to showcase why you belong there.

Key Takeaways:

 • Invest time in your personal statement, as this can be the first piece of your application that a program director reads.
 • Start with an engaging opening, use illustrative incidents to maintain the reader’s interest, and conclude by reinforcing your main points and linking back to your introduction.
 • If there are any gaps, unexplained grades, or other potential red flags in your application, use your personal statement to provide context and show the lessons you have learned from these challenges.
 • Steer clear of clichés, rehashing old statements, and focusing too much on experiences before your time in medical school. Instead, emphasize current interests and future aspirations.
 • Ensure your writing is polished, free of grammatical errors, and avoid controversial topics unless they are presented thoughtfully and professionally.

What is the Purpose of a Personal Statement?

A personal statement paints a picture of you. While your ERAS application introduces your accomplishments, it doesn’t fully capture the essence of you . There’s a whole history behind why you’re on this journey to becoming a doctor, and your personal statement is where you get to tell that story. Show the program why this path matters to you.

A personal statement highlights your unique qualifications and experiences. It’s your opportunity to talk about your professional aspirations and showcase the experiences that make you stand out—whether it’s research, clinical skills, leadership, or even your ability to communicate effectively. Explain how these experiences have shaped you and how they’ll influence the way you practice in your chosen specialty.

A personal statement shows your commitment. Demonstrate how you’ve gone above and beyond the basic requirements. Make it personal. Share what you believe in, what you love about the specialty, what fascinates you, and what you find most rewarding. This is where you show the program what you will bring to the table to make an impact in the lives of the patients you will serve.

A personal statement sells you. Residency programs are going to be reading hundreds of these, so it’s crucial that yours makes an impact. Think of your motivation as the trunk of a tree, with specific incidents or work experiences branching out from there. Remember—be genuine. Don’t feel like you have to oversell yourself. Just be true to who you are, and let your passion and experiences speak for themselves. That’s what’s going to resonate the most.

How to Write a Residency Personal Statement

The personal statement is your chance to help residency programs really understand who you are, what draws you to your desired specialty, and what sets you apart from other candidates. To make sure your personal statement is top-notch, here’s what you should include:

 • Lead with a catchy opening paragraph that grabs the reader’s attention and makes them want to read more. This is the most critical part of your personal statement, and a strong start sets the tone for the rest of your narrative.
 • Recapture the reader’s attention about halfway through your statement with insight that reinforces your overall theme.
 • Focus on a few illustrative incidents that have shaped your journey. Unite these incidents with a theme or thesis that ties your story together and highlights what makes you unique.
 • Outline what you want to say and the order in which you want to say it. This will help you create a coherent and well-structured narrative.
 • Use concrete examples of experiences that help distinguish you from others and make your story more relatable and memorable.
 • Write about interests that excite you. When you share what you are passionate about, it will come through in your writing and resonate with the reader.
 • End your message with a conclusion that refers back to your opening and restates your thesis. This brings your personal statement full circle and leaves a lasting impression on the reader.

Effective Residency Personal Statement Examples

During the 2025 Match Summit event, Dr. Kamran Mirza presented several personal statements to help guide medical students through the process.

As a program director who has read many residency personal statements as part of the ERAS application process, Dr. Mirza shares some of the best residency personal statement examples.

Example #1 – The Introduction

I love dinosaurs.

When I was a kid, all I wanted to do was learn everything I could about them – how they lived, what they ate, and what they looked like. My love of dinosaurs led me to apply to college as a paleontology major. Like any eager student, I wanted a head start in college so I decided to take a human anatomy class. My goal was to learn the names of bones. One day in class, the teacher showed us a video of total hip replacement and that was it. My entire life’s dream shifted. From that day on, I knew I wanted to be a surgeon.

Example #2 – A Story of Family Hardship

My mother immigrated from the Philippines to Minnesota as a mail-order bride. Amidst the improved living conditions and snowy winters, she was physically abused by my father and repeatedly threatened for her life. Between episodes of abuse, she gave birth to me, her firstborn child. In the thick of her celebration and under postpartum care, her OBGYN connected her with the resources necessary to exit her dangerous situation. This was the first of many instances that would provide me insight into the immense privilege that OBGYNs have of caring for extremely vulnerable patients, such as my mother. And so, my mother left for California with her newborn infant, and if not for her OBGYN, she – and I – might not have survived.

Example #3 – The Theme

The key to a perfect choux pastry, or any pastry for that matter, and the singular quality I’m convinced separates good surgeons from great ones are one in the same.

Mise en place is a French culinary adage meaning, “everything in its place.” In short, one’s ability to prepare is the major determinant of quality.

The best preparation, however, is informed by experience. I can tell you every ingredient, tool, and step to follow to make choux, but I can’t tell you how many eggs you’ll need. Recognizing the perfect texture comes only through practice and repetition. In these iterations one learns what could go wrong, what’s likely to go wrong, and whether those are the same.

Example #4 – Turning Around Your Red Flag

During my senior year of undergrad, I was diagnosed with depression and got the help I needed to become the best student I could be. Through this experience, I learned the importance of advocacy for myself and others. Once I sought help for my mental health, my entire academic career changed. I use this skill now to advocate for my patients.

For more examples, be sure to watch Dr. Mirza’s entire presentation below.

How to Address Red Flags

Your residency personal statement is a great way to address any gaps in your education, unexplained grades, or any other potential red flags in your application that may stand in your way of showcasing your strengths for a potential program.

There is no need to focus too much on any red flags you are able to address within your ERAS application. However, if there is something that you need to provide further explanation for, the best way to do so is to use your personal statement to turn it around to show how this challenge in your life shaped you in a positive way, and the lessons you learned.

What to Avoid When Writing Your Personal Statement

As you begin mapping out your residency personal statement, there are some common drawbacks that can prevent your statement from standing out.

As a rule of thumb, here are some things you should avoid:

 • Cliches . Saying, “I want to help people,” isn’t going to set you apart—it’s something we innately hope all of you feel strongly about! However, what did you have to overcome to get here, and what part of your story led you to this moment? Stay clear of cliche stories that make it look like you didn’t put effort into your personal statement. Give specific examples of experiences that inform your career choice and demonstrate your skills.
 • Rehashing medical school statements. Your time in medical school has helped shape who you are and why you are pursuing your desired specialty. Focus on experiences and challenges you have overcome in the present day and try to steer clear from anything before medical school.
 • Focusing too much on what led you to your specialty. While it’s important to touch on this, it shouldn’t dominate your narrative. Leave room to discuss your current interests and future aspirations. What excites you about the residency ahead? What are your goals for the future, both in residency and beyond? Programs want to see that you are forward-thinking and have a clear vision for your career.
 • Informal writing. Your statement should be polished and well-structured, demonstrating your ability to communicate effectively. The best advice you can receive is revise, revise, and revise some more. Plan to read your personal statement several times, as well as others, to make sure your story stays on track, is free of grammatical errors, and remains engaging throughout.
 • Controversial topics. It’s wise to avoid topics that include political, ethical, or religious issues. While it’s important to share your personal experiences, you don’t want your writing to come off as offensive or cross any lines. However, when relevant, sharing examples of hardships or family problems that have shaped your journey can be powerful, provided they are presented in a way that is thoughtful and professional. You can refer to Dr. Mirza’s example above for how to best position this.

Your architecture personal statement should tell the university all about your strengths, skills, experience and ambitions.

It should also convey your enthusiasm for architecture and what aspects of the subject you enjoy and why.

How do I write an architecture personal statement?

It’s a good idea to start your statement with why you want to study architecture at university. Try to choose a specific aspect that you like in particular and why it appeals to you.

Make sure you back up everything with examples (always show, don’t tell). You need to convince the admissions tutors that you they should offer you a place on their architecture course.

A successful architecture personal statement should be written clearly and concisely, with a good introduction, middle, and a memorable conclusion.

For inspiration on how to write your own unique statement, take a look at some of our architecture personal statement examples above, as well as some of our top rated personal statements .

What should I include in my architecture personal statement?

It’s important to include skills and experience from all areas of your life and try to relate them to hobbies or extracurricular activities if they helped you to build up your academic and practical strengths.

Think about how any work experience you have completed, and how it might be useful in your degree.

University admissions tutors want to know what you can bring to their department and why you would be an asset to them.

You need to be a well-rounded individual in terms of talent, knowledge and experience in order to have a chance of being successful with your UCAS application.
