The opportunity for international students to work while studying is invaluable, especially for a health professional like myself, eager to acquire novel knowledge and expertise. Moreover, studying in the UK will hone my English proficiency, given its status as the language’s birthplace.
I seek a course that is rigorous, captivating, and fosters active participation. The MPH program, with its array of activities like monthly seminars featuring guest scholars, dedicated faculty mentorship, and peer discussions on current population health topics, will arm me with the practical know-how and adaptability to tackle Malawi’s pressing health concerns. As a postgraduate student, I am poised to undertake a dissertation titled, “Examining the Primary Epidemiological Factors and Evaluating the Efficacy of Interventions on Coronary Heart Disease.” This topic holds significant relevance in the global quest to eradicate coronary heart disease.

Applications for Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are currently closed, however further information about the scheme can be found here .
Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are for candidates from least developed and lower middle income Commonwealth countries, for full-time Master’s study on selected courses, jointly supported by UK universities.
Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Commonwealth Shared Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK.
These scholarships are offered under six CSC development themes:
1. Science and technology for development 2. Strengthening health systems and capacity 3. Promoting global prosperity 4. Strengthening global peace, security and governance 5. Strengthening resilience and response to crises 6. Access, inclusion and opportunity
