I like the Betway website's classical format. The right-hand side is taken up with the betslip, which automatically updates its options whenever you add selections.

On the left is the list of betting markets, attractively presented using colorful icons. They stand out nicely against Betway’s black color scheme with green shading. In the menu at the top, you’ll find quick links to other sections, like live betting and the promotions page.

Most screen real estate is given to the betting lines themselves, which are neatly organized into subcategories using dropdown collapsible menus. The most popular sports and bets are prioritized, and it’s easy to cycle through all the different options.

All of this is pretty on par with the rest of online sportsbooks, but Betway does it especially well and adds some nice little unique touches here and there.

There’s a tab for results and sports news, which is a handy reference point. The live betting section has nice graphics for each sport, presenting live updates from the games. There’s also a live scheduler, so you can see which upcoming events are going to have live betting markets.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the Betway sportsbook. They’re not reinventing the wheel here, but everything is nice and smooth and, overall, enjoyable to use.

I first knew Betway as a desktop site, but now they have a special app too. It's a lot like the desktop site, so if you know your way around the website, the app will be easy for you.

The app looks the same as the site, using the same colors and style, even the icons for different sports. To find things quickly on the smaller screen, the best way is to use the search bar. Just type in whatever you're interested in and you'll easily find what you're looking for.

Betway Bonus Code

At the moment, Betway doesn’t use a bonus code or a promo code to give users access to promotions. There’s not even a space to type one in when you sign up for a new account. Instead, you can simply opt into the welcome bonus later or sign up via our links .

That’s not to say that Betway won’t introduce bonus codes later, which many sportsbooks do. But for now, there is no need to worry about them.

I've already talked about it above, but live betting at Betway is very simple overall. The live platform is great, and I'm a big fan of the 3D graphics that show you what’s happening in real time.

Placing live bets works just the same way as regular bets, but you need to move fast because the odds are changing all the time.

Thanks to the Betway mobile app , which has a similarly excellent live section, it’s even extremely easy to place bets on games you are actually attending while you watch.

As I mentioned, Betway is pretty much up there with the top books in the US in terms of a variety of bets and sports.

Betway has a special separate welcome bonus for new customers to its casino. You can get a 50% deposit match bonus worth up to $1,000 based on your first deposit.

As you might have guessed, that $1,000 comes with wagering requirements attached – and they’re on the high side. You’ll need to gamble your deposit + bonus 30x before you can withdraw any bonus cash. Different games count differently towards clearing the deposit too, with slots the most effective.

Still, it’s nice to get a chunk of bonus money.

The first thing I want to say is that Betway doesn’t charge any transaction fees for any method, which is great. That’s not to say that your bank or third-party service won’t however, so be warned and check this on your end. PayNearMe is an example of a service that will cost you money.

During my tests, all the methods worked pretty much perfectly. Deposits are processed immediately and the money appears in your Betway account straight away. Withdrawals are a different story. There is an internal review period AND a processing period after it gets approved. If you are looking for the fastest payout sportsbook , sadly, this isn't it.

For the most part, the withdrawal methods weren’t too slow, especially Play+ Card. But it would be nicer to have a little more clarity. And, of course, instant withdrawals would be even better.

In parts of the US, yes. Right now, Betway is legal in nine states: Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

The legal situation with sports betting in the US changed in 2018. Prior to that, sports betting had effectively been illegal everywhere in the country except for Nevada, thanks to something called the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act or PASPA .

In 2018, the Supreme Court struck down PASPA. This meant that the federal ban on sports betting and online gambling was removed, and each state was free to legislate for the issue however they wanted.

Since then, more than half of the states in the US have launched some form of sports betting , with access seemingly growing more widespread with each passing month.

The specific laws surrounding sports betting vary from state to state. To operate legally within a state, sportsbooks need to check, as a minimum, these two boxes:

They need an in-person book as well as any website.

They need a license from local regulators.

Keep in mind that some states only allow for online sports betting, which removes the need for brick and mortar stores, but they still require a license from local regulators.

During my test, all my problems were addressed quickly via live chat.

I only wish that the help section wasn't hard to find and that live chat was accessible from other sportsbook windows. Hopefully something they'll address in the future.

Things Betway Is Doing Right

Every now and then, I come across a new sportsbook that truly impresses me with innovative features or a gimmick that could potentially shake up the industry. Betway, however, isn't one of those.

But what Betway has done is just as impressive, which is to launch a platform with incredibly high standards across the board. While it may not introduce anything entirely new, Betway excels at what it does.

Here are my highlights:

The software is flawless, both on the desktop site and the app. It's user-friendly and appeals to both beginners and experienced bettors. It's easy to find what you're looking for, place bets effortlessly, and, overall, it's a joy to use.

Betway consistently offers numerous promotions. It's not a site that just provides a welcome bonus and takes it easy. Instead, there are regular opportunities for free bets, boosted odds, and other enticing offers for new customers.

Banking is generally very good, thanks to excellent software design. The only minor downside is withdrawal times, which I'll discuss in the next section.

Things Betway Could Work On

Having been in this business for quite a while, I haven't reviewed a betting site without coming back with some constructive feedback.

Here's what I think could be improved:

The help section and live chat could be more accessible. Ideally, I want customer support services to be just a click away. Currently, I have to do a bit of digging to find them.

While I've had worse experiences with withdrawals, if I'm being super picky, I'd like to see improved processing times. Currently, Play+ Card withdrawals pay out quickly, but ACH transfers are a bit slow.

If you’re looking for a site to direct brand-new bettors to, Betway is perfect. If you’re looking for a live betting specialist, Betway is perfect. If you want a deep selection of bets and daily odds boosts and offers, Betway is perfect.

However, the Betway Sportsbook brand struggled to capture market share and exited the US sports betting market just over three years later. Betway Casino remains operational in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The Betway Sportsbook bonus welcomed all new customers with one of two first bet offers depending on their location:

• Bet $50, Get a $200 Bonus Bet If It Wins : Available in IN, LA and VA

• Bet $20, Get a $40 Bonus Bet : Available in OH

Both offers provided value but came up a bit short compared to the online betting bonuses some of Betway’s chief competitors offered to new users.

The one downside of most Betway bonuses was that they hinged on the outcome of every new customer’s first wager. Neither of the first two offers guaranteed bettors would receive any bonus money. Only the Betway Ohio bonus paid regardless of the first bet’s outcome.

How the Bet $50, Get $200 Bonus Worked

New customers could claim this Betway bonus by signing up, depositing a least $50, and placing a $50+ first bet. If it won, they received $200 in bonus bets.

The catch with this offer was that the qualifying first bet had to win. If it lost, the bettor lost their initial wager and any chance at getting a welcome bonus.

Other Betway Sportsbook bonus terms included:

• New customers had to make a first deposit of $50 or more
• The first wager had to be $50 or greater and settle within seven days to qualify for this offer
• The first wager had to have odds of -300 or longer (-220, +110, +400, etc.)

How the Betway First Bet Refund Offer Worked

The Betway bonus offered a refund guarantee to new users who opted in to the promotion and placed their first wager of at least $10. If it lost, Betway refunded it with a bonus bet of equal size worth up to $250.

For example, if a new customer placed a $50 wager after signing up and lost, Betway issued them a $50 bonus bet.

New customers had to place their first wager within seven days of signing up, and it must have had odds of -300 or greater to qualify. For example, a bet placed at odds of -450 would not be eligible, but a wager with odds of -220 would. Additionally, the initial wager had to settle within seven days of registering to qualify.

Betway issued all refunds as bonus bet credits that customers could not withdraw. However, bettors could withdraw anything they won by wagering the bonus.

Winning wagers made with bonus bets did not refund the initial stake, only the winnings. For instance, if a bettor placed a $100 wager at +200 odds using bonus bets, a winning outcome would result in a $200 payout, not $300 as it would if the bettor placed a cash wager.

Customers had seven days to use their Betway Sportsbook bonus bets.

How the Betway Ohio Bonus Worked

The Betway Ohio bonus was the smallest of the bunch but offered the significant advantage of benefitting all new customers. Win or lose, all new users who made a qualifying deposit and first wager of at least $20 received $40 in bonus funds.

Claiming the bonus was straightforward:

• Sign up for an account
• Make a first deposit of $20 or more
• Place a first wager of at least $20 on any sport
• First wager had to be placed at odds of -300 or longer (-300, -220, +110, +700 etc.)
• First wager had to settle within seven days of the customer opening a Betway account
• Betway paid the bonus regardless of the first wager’s outcome

Other Betway Sports Betting Promotions

In addition to its new customer welcome offer, Betway offered a smattering of recurrent promotions. Common offers bettors could expect to see include:

• Bet & Get : Bettors who wagered $10 on a live betting market received a $5 bonus bet
• Parlay boosters : Betway offered up to 40% extra winnings on select parlays. The amount of the profit boost depended on the size of the parlay, with 3 leg parlays only receiving a 5% boost and massive 15 – 20 leg parlays eligible for the full 40%.
• Early cash outs : More of a promotion than a feature, early cash out allowed players to cash out their wagers before the underlying contests concluded. The cashout amount was based on the current live odds minus an additional VIG.

Betway also offered money-back offers for close bets that fail to win, free-to-play predictions games with cash prizes, and early payouts for bettors whose picks get off to a strong start. For example, Betway once offered early payouts for NBA picks that got off to a 16-point lead and for PGA picks who led the tournament after Round 1.

Betway Big Pick

Betway Big Pick was a free-to-play pick’em game that pays cash prizes to fans who made accurate predictions for upcoming NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and soccer games.

Players could download the standalone Betway Big Pick app from the iOS and Android app stores or visit betwaybigpick.com to sign up, make predictions, and win up to $5,000.

Betway Big Pick was open to customers 21 or older in all 50 states and cost nothing to participate. As a result, it was an excellent way for fans to get in on the action and win real money even if they lived in states without legal sports betting.

How Betway Big Pick Worked

Players could get started with Betway Big Pick by signing up for a free account, logging in, and selecting a sport from the homepage.

After players selected a sport, Big Pick presented them with a series of predictions to make. For example, players who selected the NFL were asked to predict the winners of up to 16 upcoming games straight up.

Anyone who got every prediction correct won $5,000. And if two or more players got every prediction right, they split the prize money equally. Betway Big Pick ran new games every week, so players could try again as many times as they liked at no cost.

Fans could also create private leagues to play with their friends and family by logging in, selecting the “leagues” menu item, and creating a league. From there, they could generate custom invitation links or invite friends on Facebook and Twitter.

In summary, Betway Big Pick was a simple but potentially rewarding option for fans who either didn’t have the bankroll to bet on sports or lived in states without legal sportsbooks. It was as simple as logging in, making picks, and watching sports.

Was Betway Big Pick free?

Yes. Betway Big Pick never cost anything to play. Fans could enter leagues every week to play for the real money prize or join private leagues to compete for bragging rights, but they never had to pay money to participate.

Could I join multiple leagues?

Yes, but players could only enter one lineup into the public league that paid real prizes. However, fans could join as many user-created leagues as they wished to compete for bragging rights.

Betway Sportsbook Deposit Options

Betway didn’t support as many betting cashier options  as most other sportsbooks but did enough to provide bettors with a decent variety of choices. Deposit methods varied slightly by state but generally included:

• Credit and debit card : Deposit funds from your MasterCard or Visa credit/debit card. The minimum deposit amount was $10, and the maximum was $50,000. Betway charged no fees on its end for credit card transactions.
• VIP Preferred e-check : Bettors could link their checking accounts and make ACH deposits through VIP Preferred. Deposit limits often started low but increased as bettors strengthened their payment profiles. Min deposit: $10.
• Betway Play+ : Fund your account with a branded Betway Play+ prepaid card. Bettors could fund their cards online via multiple methods, including bank accounts, credit or debit cards, or PayPal, and deposit instantly that same day. Bettors also received physical cards in the mail to use for ATM withdrawals and retail purchases wherever Discover is accepted.
• PayPal : The popular eWallet became the preferred choice of many bettors, offering instantant transactions and low minimum deposits of just $10. Customers who used PayPal for Betway deposits had to hold a personal PayPal account in good standing that was registered to the same email address as their Betway USA account.
• PayNearMe : For those who preferred cash deposits, PayNearMe was a viable option. Bettors who selected this as a funding method followed the on-screen prompts, and then brought a dedicated barcode to a local 7-Eleven or Family Dollar outlet, where they completed the cash transaction. The main drawback (besides the travel time) was that the maximum deposit amount was just $500 per 24 hours.
• Casino Cage : Betway customers were able to deposit funds at affiliated retail casinos. For instance, New Jersey bettors could deposit funds at Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City.

Betway Customer Support

Betway had an extensive FAQ section that covered everything from responsible gaming and account info to bonuses and technical issues.

In addition, Betway offered 24/7 live chat and email support. Customer support agents were quick to respond and seemed knowledgeable but were robotic and abrupt in their responses. The experience didn’t feel very personal.

Betway Sports Betting Review

Betway Sportsbook provided a standard wagering experience best described as functional and easy to use.

Its strengths included wide market coverage and an extensive in-play betting menu, which included niche betting markets rarely seen elsewhere. The app was lightweight and compact, and the interface was intuitive enough that new bettors didn’t take too long getting acquainted with the platform.

However, there was a heavy focus on in-play betting, especially on the homepage. Bettors who preferred placing pre-game wagers had to do a bit more navigating than usual.

Beyond a few nice touches, Betway didn’t bring anything innovative or exciting to the table. Betway relied on technology from SBTech, which powered numerous U.S. betting apps, including DraftKings.

On the plus side, SBTech meant Betway offered tons of wagers, including a vast array of alternative lines, derivatives, and prop bets . The downside was that customers could find the same types of wagers and lines elsewhere.

Opportunities for improvement at Betway Sportsbook included a more fleshed-out promotional schedule, a loyalty program, phone support, and a more unified app. There were also a few software glitches that needed to be ironed out, like mobile download links that did not function properly.

Betway Sports Betting App

Betway offered mobile apps for iOS and Android devices. Bettors could find the app by searching for it by name in Google Play( Android) or the App Store (Apple). The Betway website also provided a download link in its main navigation menu, but it was not be functional at the time of this writing.

The Betway mobile app had its share of pros and cons. For the most part, it looked clean and functioned well, with lag only a minor issue. Bettors could view ongoing in-play games and upcoming events from the homepage. They could also filter games by sports market by selecting one of the visual icons near the top of the screen.

On each sport’s subpage, bettors could see the point spread, total, and moneyline odds for upcoming games. From there, they could click into any game to view the full betting menu and filter wagers by category. From this screen, bettors could also view a few baseline stats. Betway US did not offer live-streaming sports feeds like some of its more prominent competitors.

It was a decent app overall, but there were some quirks to contend with. For one, the Betway app occasionally told bettors they were not logged in when they were. Additionally, the geolocation process was exhaustive and occasionally buggy, and the bet slip feature needed a design upgrade.

Also, the Betway app was not unified across different states, meaning players had to download multiple apps if they wished to wager in other states. However, in states where Betway offers online casino gaming, the casino and sportsbook were integrated.

Betway also offered a mobile-friendly website featuring its full range of betting options, including real-time data and other stats integrated into the interface.

Betway In-Play Betting

Betway’s in-play betting schedule was one of the busiest in the industry, even amid some very strong competition from other major operators.

For some context, the Betway Group noted on its corporate website that it has covered as many as 190,000 in-play events spanning 50 sports in a single year.

In-play markets spanned a range of outcome selections such as the winning team and point total plus quarter and half markets, team totals, and more. In-play market depth was about average but came up a bit short compared to some of Betway’s more prominent competitors. Most notably, short-term wagers such as the next score, the outcome of the next at-bat, and the result of the next play were missing.

A standard array of data accompanied larger events to keep bettors up to date on the current score, possession, and other stats.

Betway Sports Betting Markets

Betway accepted wagers on a long list of sports and maintains a busy in-play betting calendar. Market depth was about on par with most sportsbooks, with a standard range of pregame wagers, props, alternate lines, player specials, and so on.

Betway also supported a limited same game parlay format that was a full step behind what the competition offered at the time. Bettors could only create SGPs from a modest collection of wagers, and Betway did not display the odds for each leg. That said, its soccer SGPs showed a lot of potential, with more and more wagers available by the month.

As far as legitimacy was concerned, Betway gave no cause for concern. It was established in 2006 and held licenses in many highly regulated markets in the US and abroad. The company also reached marketing and data partnerships with multiple professional leagues, including the NBA, NFL, and NHL.

However, Betway Sportsbook struggled to make an impact in the US market and eventually closed shop in the United States.

If your bet wins, great! If not, you’ll receive the full value of your wager back in the form of bonus bet funds. The most you can get back with this offer is $250. When you place a bet using bonus funds, you only receive the profit portion of the winnings, not the value of the stake. 

Overall, this is a good offer. It’s true that you can find risk free first bet offers with a higher limit at other sportsbooks (like BetMGM for instance), but the majority of people are likely to be more than happy with the $250 limit and plenty of people wouldn’t be comfortable placing a higher value single bet anyway.

Betway’s welcome bonus alternative - Uber voucher

Impressively, Betway has an alternative welcome bonus if you don’t like the sound of a risk free bet, and it’s a very interesting one: a free Uber voucher. 

To opt into this promo, you must select the correct option when you are making your first deposit in the cashier. Once you’ve done so, you need to deposit at least $25 and place your first bet. It needs to be worth between $25 and $50 at odds of at least –120.

As soon as your bet is settled within 7 days, you’ll receive an Uber voucher worth the same value of your bet sent to your email address. Joining Betway is very easy. During our tests, the whole process took under two minutes and just required some pretty basic personal information. Here’s a guide:

Betway has been in the game for a long time, so we’re not surprised to report that there is a deep and varied selection of betting markets available. Below is an overview.

Moneylines, spreads and totals

Moneyline bets, betting against the spread and totals bets are generally the most popular forms of betting, and Betway has all of them covered for all its sports. Placing a bet is nice and simple too: you just need to click on your selection to add it to the betslip, type in your stake and confirm your bet to lock it in place. 

Futures are bets on the winners of tournaments or events happening at some point in the future, like betting on the winner of the US Open in golf or the Super Bowl winner. You can place futures at any point, but they are especially popular at the start of the season or the beginning of a competition. Betway has a full menu of futures on all major sports. 

Props are bets on specific aspects of the game or specific players’ performances, like betting on running yards in the NFL or three points in the NBA. Compared with the likes of moneyline bets, props can get a lot more technical and specific. As you might expect, the deepest prop betting menus are in the most popular sports like football, basketball and soccer.

Like some other European sportsbooks (bet365 and Unibet), Betway entered the U.S. market when PASPA, a law that had effectively outlawed sports betting, was overturned. So, while they launched in 2006, they’ve only been active in the U.S. since 2021, starting in Colorado and Indiana.

Betway is up and running in 9 states including Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, Louisiana, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

I’m generally a fan of European sportsbooks. They bring a lot of experience and a different vibe to the U.S. betting scene, where sportsbooks can all feel the same.

Still, standing out doesn’t always mean standing above.

The Betway user experience could be smoother, their odds aren’t always competitive, and slow payouts are a common complaint. 

In addition, the sign-up bonus is only available in Arizona, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Setting those negatives aside, you still end up with an app that offers solid odds boosts, excellent sports coverage, and some pretty unique promotions.

Overall, I'd say Betway is decent but not the best out there. It's not the first place I'd go for valuable odds, but the sign-up bonus and ongoing promotions make downloading the app worth it.

My Favorite Parts About Betway

• Fantastic sports coverage: The variety of sports available to bet on is big. From the major leagues to less mainstream sports like lacrosse and darts, they've got it all. You’ll even find bets for Jai Alai. Unless you're into something extremely niche like arm wrestling, you’ll likely find it at Betway.
• Valuable odds boosts: You might find other books with more daily odds boosts than Betway, but many of those target long-shot parlays that come through once in a blue moon. Betway, on the other hand, offers boosts on more achievable bets, like bumping the odds for both the Celtics and the Clippers to win on the moneyline from -106 to +115.
• Good track record for limits: Limiting successful bettors and sharps is a common and unpopular move among most books. I'm not claiming Betway never does it, but you'll find fewer complaints online about them limiting players compared to others. This suggests they handle it better than many in the industry.
• Solid live betting platform: Betway offers a wide array of sports for live betting , with competitive odds to boot. The platform is quick and responsive, ensuring that odds refresh rapidly. While live streaming isn't on the menu yet, their live stats and play-by-play tracker do an excellent job of filling in the gaps.

My Least Favorite Parts About Betway

• Skimpy betting options: They have a good range of player props including points and assists combos for athletes across major sports. Yet, they lack the creative flair seen elsewhere. Their selection of game props and futures feels limited, mostly sticking to the basic stuff. Don't expect to find advanced wagers like team total season wins or other novel bets that are becoming common at rival sportsbooks.
• Limited feature set: Betway's feature set is a bit behind the times. Just offering cash out and same game parlays might have been enough five years ago, but bettors today expect more. Competitors are rolling out tools like "Edit My Bet" or "Quick Parlays." Betway needs to catch up and embrace these creative trends.
• Poor UX: Betway needs a UX makeover. The ultra-dark theme is a strain on the eyes, but it's more than just a color scheme issue. They need to organize their betting options better. Adding separate tabs for different prop categories would save users from endless scrolling to find a specific player's stats. And the inconsistency is odd—the sportsbook's layout shouldn't change from one state to another. It's confusing that what you see in New Jersey isn't what you get in Ohio.

Betway Odds Competitiveness

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 13.5/20

We analyzed 7,000 recent games from U.S. sportsbooks to find which offers the best odds and—to put it bluntly—Betway wasn't even close. 

It's clear Betway regularly offers worse odds than the leading sportsbooks for moneyline bets , props , and futures .

For spread and total bets, you'll mostly find 20-cent lines (such as -110 on each side) which is pretty standard among sportsbooks. 

When it comes to moneyline odds, Betway tends to lag slightly behind the industry. 

For example, in an NBA matchup between the Clippers and the Bulls that played out while I was writing this review, Betway had the odds set at -245 for the Clippers and +200 for the Bulls. Meanwhile, FanDuel offered -240 for the Clippers and +205 for the Bulls, providing better value for both the favorite and the underdog.

When it comes to futures bets , it’s a mixed bag. They might have slightly better odds for certain markets, at times, but then lag behind in others. That's why I still check their lines when I'm shopping around, and I recommend you do the same.

I've scored Betway a 13.5 out of 20 on my odds rating scale because they generally don't stack up well across the board. Here are three other sportsbooks that consistently offer better odds:

• FanDuel : 21/20 (I gave them a bonus point for having the best odds of all books)
• DraftKings : 19.5/20
• bet365 : 19.5/20

Betway Sign-Up Bonus

If you're in any other state, you aren't eligible for any sign-up bonus—something that's pretty unheard of in the U.S. sports betting market.

I've given Betway a 6 out of 15 for their sign-up bonus. Their promotions just don't stack up in value compared to other sportsbooks, especially considering that Betway doesn't offer an intro promo in the majority of states it operates in. In addition, restrictive terms, like a narrow window to use bonus bets, don't help.

App & Website User Experience – My Takeaways

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 9/15

You can bet with Betway through its website or mobile apps (iOS & Android). Note that there is a Betway app for each state it operates in—a big downside for big travelers like me who prefer to just use a single app.

The sportsbook uses a basic design without many colors, team icons, or other things that sportsbooks like FanDuel and DraftKings use to make it easier to navigate. 

One of my major frustrations with Betway is the way they've laid out their markets, particularly prop bets.  For an NBA game with 140+ player prop bets, cramming them into a single tab can make it hard to find what I'm looking for. If the player I'm interested in betting on isn't listed at the top, I find myself scrolling and scrolling some more to find them.

I have to give credit where it's due: Betway is fast. Whether flipping through different sports or navigating the bet types in the menu, the app responds instantly. It wasn't always this way; the platform used to be notably slow, sparking complaints from many users. Thankfully, they've made substantial improvements, ramping up the speed significantly.

The search function works well. It’s easy to find both competitions and teams, which really helps when you're hunting for specific bets. With that being said, it's not perfect and sometimes mixes things up. Like when I looked up “Celtics,” my target NBA game popped up first, but it also threw in a random soccer game, showing there's still room for improvement in filtering results.

I'm also a big fan of how Betway handles their bet slip, especially the way they organize major bet types into separate tabs for singles, parlays , round robins , and teasers . This setup is a breath of fresh air, as many sportsbooks tend to lump all combo bets under a single tab.

The same game parlay toggle at Betway is a neat feature. With it switched on, it only displays markets eligible for combination in a same game parlay. This is a stark contrast to other sportsbooks where you might pick several markets, only to be told later in the betslip that they can’t be combined. It's a real time-saver.

I understand some might prefer a darker theme (a la DraftKings ), but Betway takes it to an extreme. The white font does provide the necessary contrast and slightly improves the situation, but it's not sufficient.

The mobile app can be glitchy, particularly if you're close to state borders, leading to that bothersome geolocation error seen across many sportsbooks. Additionally, getting logged out for inactivity becomes a nuisance, especially since you're required to re-enter your login details each time.

Finally, the app does include Face ID functionality, which operates seamlessly in my experience.

Betway has a broad selection of sports and a good variety of competitions within each sport. Yet, the depth of betting options available for each game could be improved.

What Sports You Can Bet On at Betway

The sports lineup at Betway should make most bettors happy, but there’s a hiccup: the variety of sports you can bet on changes dramatically depending on your location. In New Jersey, for example, bettors have access to 18 different sports . Cross over to Ohio, however, and the selection shrinks to just 10.

I'd definitely prefer it if Betway kept their sports selection uniform across every state. I get that an identical lineup might not be possible due to regulatory reasons, but I can't see why there needs to be such a big swing in options. It just makes things more complicated than they need to be.

In Ohio, the sports selection sticks to the basics:

• Aussie Rules
• Rugby League
• Motor Sport

In New Jersey, you can bet on all of the above options plus:

• Table tennis
• Rugby Union

Betway's roster of competitions doesn't go as deep as I'd hoped. European sportsbooks usually knock it out of the park with how many competitions they cover. Betway, though, doesn't quite hit those highs. Just to give you an idea, they list odds for 15 basketball leagues, while bet365 covers 31. And even in soccer, where you'd think Betway would own it, they're trailing with way fewer competitions offered.

If Betway doesn’t have the sport you're into or you're just looking for more options, these three sportsbooks could be right up your alley:

• bet365 : 25 sports + virtual sports + esports
• BetMGM : 25 sports
• Caesars : 23 sports + entertainment awards

Betway Market Variety

Props and futures are where you see sportsbooks trying their hardest to stand out. BetMGM has its signature bets, FanDuel and DraftKings load up on unique player props and seasonal markets. Betway, though, sticks to the basic meat-and-potatoes stuff.

Betway has a decent lineup of player props for major sports, but it's a bit thin on the game and team props. They also tend to roll out their prop lines later than other sportsbooks.

Here's a closer look at what they offer in terms of props for the big leagues:

• NBA props : You get the standard player props, hitting all the key stats like points, rebounds, steals, blocks, and turnovers. Betway throws in some interesting combos, too, such as combined stats lines for the team's fifth-best player in assists and rebounds (other books usually offer these bets for star players only). However, you're missing out on trending First Basket markets and the broader range of game props, except for plays by period.
• NFL props : Betway offers a solid suite of NFL props, with options for touchdowns, receptions, rushing, and passing yards. You'll find a sprinkling of quarter- and half-specific options, but team bets are scarce.
• NHL props : NHL props at Betway outnumber those for any other major sport they offer. You'll find everything from race to X goal props, team totals with alternate lines , both teams to score options, to first period props. I'm particularly fond of their “Fast Market” props, like wagers on the first goal and first penalty.
• MLB props : Alongside the usual runs, innings totals, and moneylines , Betway has a solid selection of team and game props. You'll find bets like “X team to score first and win,” which team will have the highest scoring inning, and the number of runs in the first scoring play, among others. When it comes to player props, they mostly stick to the basics, focusing on runs and strikeouts.
• Other sports : Betway's betting options for less mainstream sports don't really impress much. Take tennis as an example. For a big match, like in the Masters 1000, they roll out just over 20 markets, with only 3 being special bets—think player to win the most games, a set ending 6:0, or if there'll be a tiebreaker. You'll miss a lot of the deeper game and set props. And in Premier League soccer, where you'd expect loads of choices, they only have a bit more than 90 markets. That's way less than a sportsbook like bet365, which often offers 140+ markets.

Consider these three betting sites as alternatives as they have a wall-to-wall market depth, including plenty of options you won’t find at Betway:

• FanDuel : 5/5 for player and game props
• bet365 : 5/5 for player and game props
• BetMGM : 5/5 for player and game props

At Betway, the futures bets are on the standard side. In the NBA section, they cover:

• Individual awards (Coach of the Year, Rookie of the Year, MVP, Defensive Player of the Year)
• Conference winners
• Division winners
• NBA finals winner odds

However, they miss out on one of my personal favorites when it comes to NBA futures: the “to make the playoffs” bet.

For the NFL, you get all the above options plus odds on each team's win total for the season. I'd really like to see more variety here, maybe some draft or player specials like what FanDuel offers.

Betway offers a solid live betting experience though there are a few areas that could use some tweaking. Market variety and sports selection are quite good. On a regular Friday afternoon evening, you can find live betting for 20+ sports, which isn’t bad.

There’s a good range of wagers per sport. They carry over a hefty chunk of their pre-game bets into the live section. For a typical college basketball game, you're looking at 30+ live betting options to pick from.

Betway offers micro markets, allowing you to dive into the nitty-gritty with bets on specific play-by-play moments, such as who will score the next basket in a basketball game.

The odds are generally fair, but there have been times when I've spotted some significant mismatches, like 32+ cent lines (-108 on one side and -124 on the other for totals and spreads).

The downsides? Betway doesn't offer live streaming, and you can't do live same game parlays either.

Even though Betway boasts a 4.1 rating on the App Store and a 3.4 on Google Play , those numbers might not tell the whole story. A closer look at the comments sections reveals a slew of complaints.

The main complaints center on app glitches, less-than-stellar customer support responsiveness, and some hiccups with features' functionality.

It's worth noting that availability for some deposit methods can vary by state. Some deposit options, like PayPal and Venmo, are only available in six states.

Withdrawal Methods & Payout Speed

Betway provides 6 options for cashing out , with a uniform $10 minimum withdrawal across all methods.

They don't tack on fees for withdrawals. However, it's important to note that certain payment processors or banks might take a cut, especially for transactions made with credit cards. In some cases, these can be considered cash advances, which banks tend to charge for.

While there have been some grumbles about slow payouts from Betway, my personal experience tells a different story. I've found them to be swift, usually completing withdrawals within 48 hours. That efficiency earns them a spot on my list of sportsbooks with the fastest payouts .

Betway offers some pretty good odds boosts, but I feel they could step it up with additional incentives. The loyalty program is a nice touch, for sure. Still, it'd be great to see a broader range of promotions for regulars.

Odds Boosts

While Betway doesn’t flood you with odds boosts, the ones they do put out there have potential for real value.

You’ll usually see between 5-10 odds boosts on any given day , all located in their own section for easy browsing. But, as we've seen with other features, the layout is different in different states. This means the exact spot where you'll find these odds boosts can change depending on your location.

In Ohio, for instance, the odds boosts are placed at the very top left on the horizontal menu, whereas in New Jersey, you'll find them right below the search bar, as the first tab at the top of the vertical sidebar. And just to add a bit of complexity, in Ohio, they're labeled as “Betway Boosts” while in New Jersey, they go by “Betway Boosts Enhanced Odds.”

The price boosts at Betway are pretty decent, offering about a 10% enhancement.

What's really appealing is that they target realistic outcomes rather than just longshot parlays. You'll find most of their boosts in the +120 to +400 range, which suggests some of these boosts could come with positive expected value (+EV) . 

One example that caught my eye was a boost for “Zion Williamson and Kawhi Leonard to grab 15+ rebounds combined.” I jumped on that one right away.

Betway mainly targets major leagues with odds boosts, but they occasionally offer some for secondary markets like tennis and golf.

For even better odds boosts, here are three sportsbooks worth checking out:

• Fanatics : 5/5

The number of promos you’ll encounter depends on when you play. The promo activity spikes in the lead-up to playoffs of major sports and some marquee events, and that’s when you can expect 5+ deals. During the regular season and off-season, they rotate between 2-4 promos.

Here’s a mix of promotions I encountered during my review and ones I've seen in the past at Betway:

• Live Bet $10, Get $5 Free on NHL: Bet $10 on any live NHL match and get a $5 bonus bet in return.
• 15% NCAAB Parlay Boost : Your Saturday college basketball parlay could get a boost from 5% to 15%, based on the number of selections.
• 40% Soccer Parlay Boost : Increase your soccer parlay odds by 5% to 40%, depending on how many legs are in your bet.

I ended up giving Betway a 2.5 out of 5 for their ongoing promotions and, even that, might have been a tad generous.

Loyalty Program

Betway has a loyalty program called Betway Plus. Every time you make sports bets or play casino games, you earn two kinds of points: Tier Tokens and Plus Points. Here's the deal:

• Tier Tokens : These tokens determine your rank in the loyalty hierarchy. The longer the odds you bet on, the more Tier Tokens you collect. Your loyalty tier is updated based on the Tier Tokens you have at the end of each month.
• Plus Points : These are basically Betway's bonus currency. You can trade them in for bonus bets and more. The bonuses you qualify for depend on how many Tier Tokens you have and your betting activity. But, don’t forget, Plus Points expire 90 days after hitting your account. Also, you need at least 5,000 points to start redeeming.

Many sportsbooks don’t have loyalty programs, so it’s nice that Betway has one. Still, I think the MGM Rewards Program ( BetMGM ) and Caesars Rewards ( Caesars Sportsbook ) offer better perks.

Betway Features

ODDS ASSIST RATING: 1.5/7.5

Betway is fairly barebones when it comes to its features, offering just two:

• Cash Out : This lets you back out of a bet that's still in play before all your picks have finished. It's nice for dodging those last-minute upsets but comes with a catch: Betway offers a smaller payout than if you'd let the bet fully play out.
• Same Game Parlays (SGPs) : SGPs let you combine bets from the same game, like betting on LeBron James to score over a certain number of points and the Lakers to win. This option is mainly available for the big leagues and soccer.
