My Experience in School as a Student

1. Introduction

As a student, I have had to find ways to manage the unique academic pressures of school. From juggling assignments and exams each semester, there were always plenty of challenges during my educational journey; however, these also brought positive moments – like gaining new knowledge that has been essential for growing both personally and professionally.

2. Body Paragraphs

Navigating the social scene of school can be a tricky endeavor, as finding one’s place among peers is key. At first, I found it difficult to make friends and fit in; however, over time I was able to foster genuine connections with others that have since flourished into lasting relationships.

Through participation in extracurricular activities, I grew as a person and developed new abilities. From sports to clubs, these experiences taught me valuable skills while also allowing me the chance to have fun with friends . Of course, all this took effort; it was key for me to find harmony between my school work and extracurricular so that neither suffered from neglect!

My school career has given me more than just an education; it taught me the invaluable lessons of resilience and responsibility. I acquired new skills, like problem-solving and communicative proficiency, that have benefited my endeavors outside of academia. Amidst all those textbooks and presentations, there were some truly remarkable moments: field trips exploring unfamiliar terrain, passionate performances in plays alike to a professional stage production ,and ultimately watching dreams fulfilled as we crossed the graduation finish line together .

3. Conclusion

Through highs and lows, my time spent in school has been a journey of growth and learning. From mastering new skills to forging meaningful friendships, I have come away with invaluable life lessons that will stay with me forever. Looking back on it all now, I am truly thankful for the enriching experiences this chapter had to offer.

If anything school life has been affected the most in Covid 19 as the shutting down of schools has completely changed the student’s routine and small children who have never been to the school have started attending classes online since nursery. This kind of learning is dangerous if students are not involved in extracurricular activities and are always at home. As most of these online classes are taken by parents and those children are not able to get the real-life experience of what a school really is. Filling the gap caused by COVID-19 is not possible but students can do extracurricular activities or engage in some critical thinking games that will help them to think out of the box and will enable them to question certain things that may seem unusual. Speeches, in this matter, are a good way to engage for some recreation.

Response From Leslie Servin

During my time in high school I had it really good moments, but my best moments that I’ve experienced are in a particular class during my senior year, in Sacramento, Calif. So I was basically a new student in these kind of classes and also I’m English learner. I remember my first presentation in this class. I didn’t want to do it, but finally I did it and that one was my best moment. When I went to present I felt afraid, and then when I presented I felt so good for the effort I applied on. Now I feel so much better than my first day of presentations because I now know that I can do whatever I want to do. The learnings that I acquire made it so good this moment because I know that I have to trust on me. Something teachers or students can learn from my experience is that we have to overcome our fears and not let them control ourselves because we can’t know our capabilities if we are afraid.

Something teachers or

Response From Jesneel Singh

The best moment in class was when I was in 9th grade in sixth period. That was when I got into poetry and spoken word. Having that “character and scene” class made my life even greater. Not knowing anything about poetry, hating on poems about reading and writing it in the past. That class was fun in many ways. For example; there was this one time where we had to write our own plays and poems and perform them in front of the class. I felt alive, and the creative side of me came out. When I wrote my first poem in freshman year. I realized that it was fun and unique. I felt like I wanted to write more and more. When I performed my first poem to that class I found my passion. Since that day and today I have written over 400 poems and made two books. I have performed on many stages in small audience and in school. That was a good day for me because I can write my thoughts down and write the truth about the world. Teachers and students can learn from this experience that, you can find what best fits you.

There was this one time

Response From Nancy Ramirez

I would say my best class moment would be from my sophomore year in high school. For my Spanish class, our teacher decided we would do a class circle (Editor’s note: see “How To Practice Restorative Justice in Schools” for more information on class circles) for the day. She asked us a sequence of questions which required us to give a more in depth and heartfelt answer each time, starting with something along the lines of “How are you feeling?” and ending with “Why do you think that is?” A class circle which only should have lasted one day extended to three, with each and every single one of us having to share our deepest and darkest fears and insecurities. By then it felt more than just a class and opened my eyes to very different ways of teaching styles. I believe there is much to learn from this experience, both then and now. I have come to deeply appreciate not only the class but the teacher as well. This experience showed me the extent a relationship with your classmates and your teacher can go....

This experience showed

Response From Oscar Salazar

The best moment I’ve ever experienced in school was last year when I was a sophomore. I took biology last year and towards the end of the year we got to dissect a fetal pig. I know that it sounds gross but it’s really not. That’s what I thought at first too. I did lots of fun experiments in that class that were new to me, such as making a small ecosystem in a bottle and dissecting owl pellets to find mouse skeletons. I think that these experiences were really fun and interesting. I’ve never done anything like that in a class before.

I think that when teachers introduce students to hands-on activities and projects the students enjoy it more. Since we have more energy it’s a good use of it. We learn better when we’re allowed to move around and be creative. Our lives aren’t going to be pen on paper or books forever. It’s best to get us students to explore the world using our skills that we learn and strengthen our understanding of daily life that is sometimes hidden from us and exposed to us abruptly once we turn into adults.

I think that when

Response From Kayla Guzman

What has been my best moment in a class? I’ve had many great moments but perhaps the most best moment took place in my English class about a month ago. I had a 10-15 minute presentation and I felt pretty confident. 30 minutes before my presentation I decided to incorporate an actor for visual appeal, to correspond with my presentation. I felt even more confident, assure that I would captivate the audience’s attention and keep them engaged. When my presentation started, I gave a signal to my actor which led me to drop my 8 notecards all over the floor. I was aware that the time was ticking, so I quickly grabbed all the notecards off the floor. I became overwhelmed with embarrassment, listening to the echoing laughter of the audience as I tried to rearrange the cards. The cards in my hand then became extremely restraining. My anxiety levels rose, and the disorganized cards just added stress to my emotions. I placed the cards down, and felt a great sense of relieve. My words, my explanations, my connections all flowed out my mouth with harmony, and I felt more natural and free as I presented my topic.

My presentation was a diagnosis of a character with schizophrenia, explaining the symptoms and the reasoning behind my diagnosis. The movement of my hands and my exaggeration presented by a drive of passion, along with my visual representative, kept the audience captive. I felt like a completely different person. By the end of the presentation I was sweaty, not by nervousness but because I left it all on the floor. I realized that the key to presenting with people is not getting their attention just by visual appeal. You need to let your heart pour out so that you can captivate their hearts, reach their souls. You can’t just be the center of attention, you need to give the audience attention, you need to talk to them. First and foremost, you can’t present without emotions. Anything you present should be built off of passion. As long as you can find a connection between yourself and the topic and exude your passion, you will keep the audience engaged.

School is can be known as a heaven that exists on earth. It is a place where people from different backgrounds and temperaments come together with the purpose to learn. It offers a magical experience when combined with the artistic ways of studying and scientific ways of interpreting every chapter that we study. Schools are a place where we get to make friends, learn new things, and grow every day. In fact, it is so hard to imagine a world without schools. They are the first place where we learn about life and many other things. Similarly, my school plays the same role in my life.

I studied in a convent school which has centuries-old buildings. It has two buildings that stand tall and look over us intimidatingly. The red walls of my school are the trademark of our uniqueness. They are renowned all over the city and have been so for many years. It is the only school in the whole city to cover the largest area. Moreover, my school produces the highest number of toppers in the board exams.

Other than that, the big playground of my school has a formidable Sports guardian to go with it, who makes us work our bodies to the best of our ability. In addition, the science lab of our school is completely free of fireworks and smoke due to the expertise of the staff of our school and guidance of our science teacher.

Another accomplishment of school is that it has got the largest library in the whole town. It consists of every book you can ever think of in many languages and genres. Most importantly, my school’s staff is very loving and inspirational. They love and care for us like their own children. After all, it is the place where I spend most of my time after my home.

I have always loved attending school and never miss out on an opportunity to do so. Further, it is my second home also because I have my friends here who are nothing less than family to me. Thus, they make my school life easier and full of joy. It is truly a blessing to have them in my life.

Most importantly, my school is my second home because it teaches me a lot of things each day. It is a safe space that allows me to grow every day and reach greater heights. They make sure I reach my full potential and encourage me to do the right thing always.

Therefore, I will forever be grateful to my school for being a pillar of strength in my life. Everything that I learn here stays in my mind and heart forever. One day I will have to bid farewell to these beautiful red walls and inspiring teachers, but it won’t change anything. I am going to become the successful person that they have trained me to be and I am going to make them proud of me!

Studying in a convent School makes you ever-ready for any risks that you have to take in your life. I vouch strongly for convent schooling in this concern. The strict routine and the love for books has been strongly inherited from my school.

I remember the first day of my school when I came crying into it, and I will leave crying, but the person leaving is going to be fundamentally different and inspirational. the school Staff, the principal, and the wonderful values that everyone instills into us students are a life-saver in futuristic situations. Long and Short Speech on My School in English Language

On our portal, you will find both short and long speeches on My School, which can prove to be of great help to you in your assignment whether it’s a classroom one or for any formal speech giving ceremony. So read on to know more!

My School Speech 1

Dear Friends – I warmly welcome you all to today’s speech ceremony!

It’s a very special day today as our very own Dear School has completed 12 years successfully. So first of all let’s cheer up for that and I am feeling extremely honored to have been sharing this great news with you all. Now, going by the special occasion I considered it apt to deliver a short speech on my school, no actually on ‘our school.’

I have been studying in the school since II standard and at that point in time no one knew the name of our school and currently I am in 10 th standard and the School has raised its standards to great heights. Presently, everyone knows ABC International School as it is counted amongst the top five schools in our Raghunagar area. It fills me with immense pride to be a student of this school and it goes without saying that I have been imbibed a lot for a simple reason that my teachers have been so fabulous. My school has not only helped me excel in studies, but also in honing my skills for other co-curricular activities to an extent where we can confidently compete with other schools and bring accolades home.

It’s not even like our second home, but our first home where we spent more than half of our day, study, eat, enjoy, discuss, debate and do every possible thing which should be done for grooming ourselves and for intellectual growth.

You all will agree to the fact that school plays an extremely important role in our lives as it lays the foundation of education in our early years and over a period of 12 years we become confident and mature to face the world out there and give wings to our dreams. If a child is not properly schooled in his or her early years then it severely impacts his/her intellectual growth. And I can proudly say that I have been really very fortunate that I could be a part of this school which has taught me a lot over a period of given years.

I couldn’t have asked for more. Since this opportunity is not going to come back, I would want to extend special thanks to our honorable Principal ma’am for steadily working towards the betterment of our School and leaving no stone unturned in the welfare of the students. I have no grievances because I sincerely believe that we have been given great exposure here and we are not only imparted knowledge through the medium of books, but are also given practical learning sessions so that we gain a better understanding of things and relate it with the real life incidents.

Then from time to time inter-school, zonal and state level competitions are organized so that it not only gives us a great sense of confidence to face the world, but also to learn from both our success and failures. Our school has instilled in us enough confidence to be able to bring glory to our school on the basis of knowledge learning exercise that takes place in our classrooms.

I can endlessly go on praising my school, but now I would like to bring an end to my speech and request others to come on stage and say a few words.

My School Speech 2

Respected Class Teacher and My Dear Friends – Good Morning to all!

I, Tapan Sharma, stand in front of you all to deliver a Speech on My School. As we all know that School is a place to study and learn. It is defined as a Temple of learning and knowledge. The name of my School is ABC School and it is in Greater Kailash. Our School is impressively built with big and airy classrooms, including impressive and well-furnished laboratories along with the quintessential libraries.

It is here that I have learned a variety of things and know how to differentiate between good and bad, right and wrong, how to make the optimum utilization of time, what is the importance of time and how discipline plays a key role in helping us achieve our dreams. I want to especially thank my teachers for everything they have taught us and have worked really hard in our mental as well as intellectual growth. We are nothing without you.

Other than studies, you have taught us how to conduct ourselves in front of others and how to be virtuous, forgiving, kind and compassionate towards others. Sometimes I wonder where you all get this patience from for handling so many mischievous students like us yet the entire thing seems so effortless on your part. It feels as if our teachers are especially gifted by God with such qualities as endurance, compassion and a great sense of reading the mind of their students. The best part is that our teachers have never thrashed us but have acted wisely by making us reflect on our actions so that we can correct our wrongs.

Our school has a great culture and environment for learning and cohesive development of a child. We have phenomenal teachers who take much pain for us in transmitting knowledge to us and handling our queries. In fact, whenever we face any crisis in our personal lives, we can without any hesitation approach our class teacher and get the required guidance and support. Our teachers are not just our teachers but our guides and mentors who act as torch bearers for us. We are so fortunate to have such teachers who stand by us all the time and put efforts persistently towards making us responsible human beings. Right from learning to read, write and analyze, we are taught everything so much so that we are modeled into hardworking and dedicated students.

For many, school life is a preparatory stage that helps prepare us for the later stages in life, but that learning stays with us for our lifetime. So through the medium of speech I would like to send across a message to all the parents to send their child to a good school and never undermine its importance.

This is all from my side, now I would request our class teacher to come on stage and a say w few words in this regard.

My School Speech 3

Dear Friends – I welcome you all to the speech ceremony of today!

First of all, I wish to extend a warm thank you to everyone present here. As you all know the reason behind our presence here we have come to discuss the role that schools play in everyone’s lives in shaping their career and lives. But even today not everyone gets the same and equal opportunity to go to school and study. There are still many poor, underprivileged children who remain at the periphery and continue to live a deprived life.

As this concern has been raised by many of our NGO members, we considered it important to bring up this issue in our present meeting and chart out some plans for their education and betterment. And since we are discussing about the important role of school, I would also like to share an experience from my personal life, which is that of my school and in what ways it contributed towards the holistic development of my being.

As a person who has spent more than half of his life remaining a student, I can confidently vouch for the important role that a school plays. I cannot underestimate the importance of school because if it were not the schools then children’s intellectual and mental growth in their early years would have remained stunted.

In schools, we not only gain knowledge from the books but also learn things practically that helps in the overall growth of a student, for instance, we are taught the importance of discipline and time management in our school which is a valuable lesson which we never let slip off from us because we know what repercussions may follow after that. Similarly, we have learnt other important lessons too which we follow in our lives till the end. So we can very well understand the plight of such students who don’t go to school at all and needless to mention our nation is laying waste their precious talent.

But as a responsible citizen of our country, it becomes our civic duty to educate the children of our Nation and send them to school and educate them. Though they can be taught at home, but school environment is something else and nothing can replace it. School plays a number of key roles; out of which the chief aim is that of educating children of course and making them understand the significance of teamwork and team spirit, which is very crucial for them to know because when they grow up and are directed to their workplaces, they have the requisite ability to become a productive part of their society. In schools, students of course are provided with new ideas and are helped in developing their critical thinking through the medium of Science and Literature and are given a great exposure to unravel the geographical, cultural and historical world.

So let’s take pledge this time to try and send as many children to school as possible and contribute towards building their bright future.

My School Speech 4

Hello All – Welcome to the 25 th anniversary of our school. It gives me immense pleasure to announce the successful completion of 25 years of our school.

It was a decade before that I joined this school as one of the faculty members and now I feel extremely glad to be its part. I have seen so many students joining our school and leaving as confident and knowledgeable individuals. With the dedicated efforts of all our staff, we have been able to bring our school in the list of top five schools of our place. Whether it’s our primary school wing, secondary school or higher secondary school wing, every sector is discharging its duty well and imparting education to children with a great sense of responsibility.

But If I were to talk about the importance of school in general, I would say that it helps in the following ways –

INFORMATION

The most significant reason behind sending our children to school is the fact that school is a centre of learning and information. Besides, it offers a safe haven for the dissemination of ideas and exposes us to a vast range of subject knowledge and ideas which we wouldn’t otherwise find in a conventional set up, such as that of our homes.

Imbibing knowledge from new subjects and developing proficiency in a skill can help in the exponential growth of a student or a child. Whether a student is interested in Arts, Science, or Commerce, the school, with the assistance of its administrators and, most importantly, teachers, provides its students with a favorable environment for studying and personal growth

Schools also give the feeling of a sense of community to its students where children from different strata of society come, meet and interact. In fact, in my early years as a student, I used to detest the idea of attending school but as I grew up I realized the importance of a school and the conducive environment that it provides for multiple activities for the students to take place and which has helped shape and nourish my personality otherwise I wouldn’t have been the person that I am today.

SOCIALIZATION

As human beings are social animals, we cannot survive in isolation. Therefore, even schools are a great place for socialization. In schools, we interact with students from different social as well as cultural backgrounds which further help in broadening our horizon.

In school we not only make friends, but also learn the spirit of teamwork through different activities. The school environment offers students ample opportunities to adapt to team dynamics, a crucial skill necessary for success in the real world..

PREPARATION

In schools children not only learn letters and numbers, facts and figures, but are actually prepared to face the world out there once they leave school. So schools immensely contribute in the overall growth of a student and therefore we should never underestimate its importance, but encourage more and more children for attending the school.

This is all I have to say, thank you so much for listening to me patiently.

1 Minute Speech on My School In English

A very good morning to one and all present here. Today, I’ll be giving a short speech on the topic of ‘My School’.

Schools do educate children, which is considered to be their primary role, yes. But, a school does so much more beyond that. In this regard, I want to share the experiences I had in my own school.

My school is not just an institution- it is a glorious childhood wrapped in a building.

16 Public Speaking Tips for Students

Public speaking tips for students aim to reduce anxiety that can interfere with giving presentations or speeches in class. These tips can also be helpful for those with social anxiety disorder (SAD)   who have difficulty speaking in front of a group or telling a story among friends.

Public Speaking Tips

If you have SAD and need to give a speech  in elementary school, high school, college, or university, it helps to be as prepared as possible . Beyond preparation, however, there are strategies that you can use to reduce anxiety and fight the urge to stay home with a fake illness.

Even great speakers practice their speeches beforehand. Practice out loud with a recording device or video camera and then watch yourself to see how you can improve. If you are feeling brave, practice in front of a friend or family member and ask for feedback.

  • Talk about what you know : If possible, choose a topic for your speech or presentation that you know a lot about and love. Your passion for the topic will be felt by the audience, and you will feel less anxious knowing that you have a lot of experience to draw from when other students ask you questions.
  • Concentrate on your message : When you focus on the task at hand, anxiety is less likely to get out of control. Concentrate on the main message of your speech or presentation and make it your goal to deliver that message to the other students in your class.
  • Grab the audience's attention : Most of your fellow classmates will pay attention for at least the first 20 seconds; grab their attention during those early moments. Start with an interesting fact or a story that relates to your topic.
  • Have one main message : Focus on one central theme and your classmates will learn more. Tie different parts of your talk to the main theme to support your overall message. Trying to cover too much ground can leave other students feeling overwhelmed.

Tell Stories

Stories catch the attention of other students and deliver a message in a more meaningful way than facts and figures. Whenever possible, use a story to illustrate a point in your talk.

Being prepared to speak in public can also be important if you have social anxiety disorder. Feeling confident and prepared to give your speech may help lessen your feelings of anxiety. Some of the things that you can do to prepare include:

  • Visit the room : If you have access to the classroom where you will be speaking outside of class hours, take the time to visit in advance and get used to standing at the front of the room. Make arrangements for any audio-visual equipment and practice standing in the exact spot where you will deliver your speech.
  • Rack up experience : Volunteer to speak in front of your class as often as possible. Be the first one to raise your hand when a question is asked. Your confidence will grow with every public speaking experience.
  • Observe other speakers : Take the time to watch other speakers who are good at what they do. Practice imitating their style and confidence.
  • Organize your talk : Every speech should have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. Structure your talk so that the other students know what to expect.

Manage Your Anxiety

Taking steps to deal with your feelings of anxiety can also make public speaking easier. Some of the things that you can do:

  • Tell someone about your anxiety : If you are speaking in front of a high school or college class, meet with your teacher or professor and describe your public speaking fears . If you're in elementary or high school, share your fears with your parents, a teacher, or a guidance counselor. Sometimes sharing how you feel can make it easier to overcome stage fright.
  • Visualize confidence : Visualize yourself confidently delivering your speech. Imagine feeling free of anxiety and engaging the students in your class. Although this may seem like a stretch for you now, visualization is a powerful tool for changing the way that you feel. Elite athletes use this strategy to improve performance in competitions.
  • Find a friendly face : If you are feeling anxious, find one of your friends in class (or someone who seems friendly) and imagine that you are speaking only to that person.

Maintain Perspective

Remember that other students are on your side. Think about a time when you have been an audience member and the student delivering the speech or presentation was noticeably nervous. Did you think less of that student? More likely, you felt sympathetic and wanted to make that person more comfortable by smiling or nodding.

Remember—other students generally want you to succeed and feel comfortable. If for some reason the audience is not on your side or you experience bullying or social exclusion, be sure to discuss this with a parent, teacher, or guidance counselor.

Be Confident

Sometimes just knowing what makes a good speech can help you feel more confident. Focus on some of the following elements and practice them before you have to speak in public.

  • Develop your own style : In addition to imitating good speakers, work on developing your own personal style as a public speaker. Integrate your own personality into your speaking style and you will feel more comfortable in front of the class. Telling personal stories that tie into your theme are a great way to let other students get to know you better.
  • Avoid filler words : Words such as "basically", "well", and "um" don't add anything to your speech. Practice being silent when you feel the urge to use one of these words.
  • Vary your tone, volume, and speed : Interesting speakers vary the pitch (high versus low), volume (loud versus soft), and speed (fast versus slow) of their words. Doing so keeps your classmates interested and engaged in what you say.
  • Make the audience laugh : Laughter is a great way to relax both you and the other students in your class, and telling jokes can be a great icebreaker at the beginning of a speech. Practice the timing and delivery of your jokes beforehand and ask a friend for feedback. Be sure that they are appropriate for your class before you begin.
  • Smile : If all else fails, smile. Your fellow classmates will perceive you like a warm speaker and be more receptive to what you have to say.

Don't Apologize

If you make a mistake, don't offer apologies. Chances are that your classmates didn't notice anyway. Unless you need to correct a fact or figure, there is no point dwelling on errors that probably only you noticed.

If you make a mistake because your hands or shaking, or something similar, try to make light of the situation by saying something like, "I wasn't this nervous when I woke up this morning!" This can help to break the tension of the moment.

A Word From Verywell

It's natural to feel frightened the first time you have to speak in front of your class. However, if you fear continues, interferes with your daily life and keeps you awake at night, it may be helpful to see someone about your anxiety.

Try talking to a parent, teacher, or counselor about how you have been feeling. If that doesn't get you anywhere, ask to make an appointment with your doctor. Severe public speaking anxiety is a true disorder that can improve with treatment .

My School Speech for School Students

Short speech on my school.

Every school is special in its own way and the same is with my school as well. It is a place where people from different backgrounds and temperaments come together with the purpose to learn. It offers magic in the form of experiments in laboratories, sports in the field, creativity in the art room and more. Schools are a place where we get to make friends, learn new things and grow every day. In fact, it is so hard to imagine a world without schools. They are the first place where we learn about life and many other things. Similarly, my school plays the same role in my life.

My School Speech

My School’s Uniqueness

I study in a convent school which has centuries-old buildings. It has two buildings which divide into the senior category and junior category. The red walls of my school are the trademark of our uniqueness. They are renowned all over the city and have been so for many years.

Every school carries some uniqueness in some way and so does my school. It is the only school in the whole city to cover the largest area. Moreover, my school produces the highest number of toppers in the board exams.

Other than that, the big playground of my school has the most modern swings which the kids absolutely love. In addition, the science lab of my school has all the gear and equipment one requires to successfully carry out experiments.

Another accomplishment of school is that it has got the largest library in the whole town. It consists of every book you can ever think of in many languages and genres. Most importantly, my school’s staff is very loving and inspirational. They love and care for us like their own children.

My Second Home

It would be only fit to call my school my second home. After all, it is the place where I spend most of my time after my home. Not only that, the atmosphere in my school is so comfortable that it makes me feel at home.

As you all know, we have our parents and older siblings at home who protect us at all times.

Similarly, at my second home which is my school, I have my teachers and seniors.

It is so because my school is a part of who I am and it’ll always remain the same for my entire life.

My School Life 1

Dear Friends – I hope this day finds you in the best of spirits!

Today on the speech giving day, I – Pratishtha Singh from Class-VIII (B) – would like to deliver a speech on My School Life. I am sure we all will have something or the other to say about our school lives. Isn’t it?

The very word ‘School’ carries a lot of emotions with it and we are transported to a world where we spend half of our day studying, reading and writing, then enjoying other co-curricular activities too such as sports, dance, music, etc. We imbibe a lot in the school environment where our personalities and characters are shaped and we are prepared for the nation’s building exercise. The foundation of our early years is very important as it informs our future and this very foundation is being laid down by our school. I am in VIII standard at present and so far my journey in this school has been excellent; in fact whatever I am today I owe it all to my school.

I want to thank my parents for sending me to one of the best schools of our town and I also want to thank our hon’ble principal and teachers for being so considerate all the time and always working for the better prospects of their students. I especially want to thank my class teacher for being so patient and kind with us and always showing ready nature for resolving our queries. My school life has been best so far and there are no laments or regrets for anything. My school has given me a lot many things, i.e. it has made me confident, independent and knowledgeable. The fact that I have brought home awards and trophies in Science and Maths subjects in Olympiad as well as inter-school competition; reveal a lot about my schooling and the hard work that my teachers have put in towards our mental and intellectual growth.

There is no reason to doubt that if such school as ours continues to thrive all across the country then no one can stop our nation from growing by leaps and bounds. Needless to say, a nations’ growth is directly proportional to the development of its youth and if the future of youth is laid waste then no one can save the future of that nation from plunging into obscurity. And if the youth thrives the nation also thrives. This is the reason why so much stress is laid down on educating the youth and making them independent and imparting them different skills so that employment can be generated and more and more of our youth can find the opportunities for showcasing their talent and making their nation proud.

So I firmly believe that schools play a very important role in our society without the existence of which any nation would be reduced to a state of gross barbarity.

This is all I have to say, thank you so much for being such a great audience.

My School Life 2

Hello Folks – Warm Greetings of the day to all of you!

I hope life is treating you well. Before I begin with the speech on My School Life, I want to thank our class teacher for giving me the opportunity to speak in front of you all and deliver a speech. I know this exercise will help remove all my inhibitions and give me enough confidence to speak. The subject of my speech is interesting and does not require any preparation at all as it will all flow from my heart.

What do I say about my school life? So far so good!  The journey has been incredibly great and I have quite evolved in these preceding 12 years so much so that I am now ready for the next level challenges. Excitement is high in the air! After scoring highest marks in my 10 th board exam, I am exhilarated and boosted with enough confidence to launch myself for the upcoming challenges. I can say this because of the immense support I have received from all my teachers. Had that support not been there I wouldn’t have brought this glory home.

Whatever I am today is all because of my teachers and nothing can take this credit away from them. I am extremely thankful to my school for providing us with all the quintessential resources needed for our growth and development. Whether it’s the libraries or labs, time to time conducted workshops or our extra classes – everything has helped us a lot in getting closer to our dreams. If we as students come across any hindrance in our studies we can directly report it to our principal. The management is smooth and pretty systematic in our school. It doesn’t take days and months to resolve our query as quick decisions and actions are taken. This is the reason why our school has gone on to achieve benchmarks after benchmarks and needless to say is counted amongst one of the best schools of Dwarka.

I can proudly say that my school is the best school and whoever passes out from this school is bound to land successfully somewhere and will definitely make it to the best. The best part about my school is that it doesn’t function with a view to ameliorate the immediate present, but constantly works towards achieving a vision that it has envisaged for itself. If our future is secure then we are secure and this is the primary goal of our school, i.e. to safeguard our future by molding us in such a manner that we can derive strength from our own selves and overcome any obstacle in life.

There couldn’t have been a better school for me than this which has greatly honed my skills and showcased my talent so well that today I feel proud of my achievements and so are my teachers and parents. In the end, I only wish for my school unbounded success and glory.

Thank you everyone!

My School Life 3

Greetings of the day everyone – I hope you are doing well!

Before I deliver speech on My School Life, let me welcome everyone to the speech ceremony of today. The speech topic of today is My School Life and I am so excited to share my thoughts on the same.

School life is an exciting phase in everyone’s life, I am sure you all will agree. In fact, my school life has been so enriching that I cannot thank enough my parents for sending me to the best school and of course my teachers for being such a guiding torch in the entire journey. My teachers have been an influential factor in my life, helped shape my personality and shared a lot with us from their immense reservoir of knowledge. Whatever I am today is all because of my school and the kind of grooming they have given me in my early years.

Other than academics, I thoroughly enjoyed other co-curricular activities, such as being a part of the basketball fraternity, cricket federation, debate society, etc. This entire journey has been really exciting and I have grown as a person, as an individual. It is rightly said that “school life is the best life” and this phrase sums up the whole crux of it because during the entire 12-year period we learn something new and something innovating. School provides us with a stirring environment where we grow; we learn; experience new things; make friends and gain the confidence to face the world outside. It is therefore the best phase in a student’s life where he/she greatly evolves and gain the ability to think critically.

School also teaches us discipline and the value of time without which we can never achieve our aims and goals in life. The exams that we give during the school days help us prepare for the big challenges in life. There is no reason for me to doubt that it is a place where we experience an over round development of our being, where our scholastic abilities grow, where our horizon widens and we are exposed to numerous possibilities of learning new things and molding our personalities in the best way possible. Though every phase in our lives has its own importance, but we can never imbibe as much as we do from our school lives because it is a long 12-year journey. Isn’t it?

I can never get over the indelible impression that my school has left over me – that time of waking up early morning, preparing for school, walking inside the classrooms, reading, writing, finishing the assignments, appearing for the examination, participating in annual functions, debate competitions and of course last but not the least sports too. Nothing was left untouched as my school has taught me a lot, which I would never be able to thank my school for.

A good school always imparts value education to its students and this value education is not confined to just books, but goes beyond that which helps a child his/her lifetime. This is all I have to say.

Thank you so much!

My School Life 4

Dear Friends – Warm Greetings to all of you! Before we begin with the celebration today, please allow me to honor our chief guest, principal, vice principal and all our teachers.

I am extremely glad to welcome everyone today at our school annual function. I, Pushkar Chawla, from Class-XII (B), am your host for today and feel honored to have shared the stage with my class teacher Dr. Naina Gupta who is truly an inspiration for me. This annual function is indeed very special for all of us and we eagerly await this day for unbounded fun and celebration. But this time friends, I promise you some extra doses of laughter and enjoyment with some really engaging games.

Besides, I also would like to express my feelings today because this is our last year in school and post that our higher secondary education would be completed and so our journey in the school. Therefore, on this auspicious day I would like to say a few words for my school and would also like to express my gratitude for bestowing on us the wealth of knowledge.

It feels like yesterday when I took admission in this school, but it was long 10 years back when my father got me here. At that time I was a child and then my educational journey began. I entered in X standard and now I stand here as a grown up individual waiting to emerge with flying colors.

From learning to read and write, this school has taught me everything from the scratch. Here, I have not just passed the examinations, but have learnt to overcome difficulties and be a strong individual. We are not only taught lessons in class, but are given some precious lifelong lessons which will stay with us all our lives. We are taught how discipline plays a key role in accomplishing our goals and why it is important to value time. Then other than academics, we are pushed to be a part of other co-curricular activities. Whereas I excelled in basketball, my other friends excelled in cricket, some in dance, some in music, etc. Inter school competitions were often organized so that we can learn to compete in a healthy manner and can best realize our potential.

We were given ample opportunities to showcase our talent and skill. It is all because of this that we are confident individuals and have learnt to conduct ourselves in the world outside. Had this school not been there as our backbone and as our firm support, we wouldn’t have been the kind of personalities that we are today, i.e. strong and dynamic. A school therefore plays a really significant role in laying the scholastic foundation of a child and I feel lucky enough to have been sent to such a school as this is a place where every child is nurtured with a lot of care and attention.

In the end all I want to say is that I am a proud student of our ABC School. Now, let the show begins.

Short Speech on The Best Day of My Life

‘My warm welcome to everyone present here. I’m here to present myself in ‘the best day of my life’ speech.’

‘It all started with an idea to become the fastest sprinter in my district when I was just 13 years old. I ran to my high school sports teacher and told him I wanted to become a sprinter and would work very hard to achieve my goals. He said, ‘Son, you have that energy and positive mindset, which will be your greatest strength to achieve your goals.’

‘After 5 years of rigorous training and winning multiple competitions, my dream finally came true. It’s been 5 years since I started running, and I’ve won multiple competitions. The best day of my life was when I finally achieved my goal of becoming the #1 Sprinter in the entire district. I won a gold medal in the senior boys category and the District Magistrate congratulated me on my success.’

This was the best day of my life, where all my hard work finally paid off and I was looking at the bright sky with a feeling of accomplishment and confidence.’

Long Speech on The Best Day of My Life

Hello and welcome to everyone present here. I’m here to talk about the best day of my life. I’m emotionally attached to all the events that have happened to me. I had a personal challenge where I wanted to become the ‘ideal’ son for my parents. I wanted my family to be proud of me not just with my school grades but with everything I used to do.

Football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo was asked what was the best day of his life. The GOAT replied, ‘It was the day when my son was born.’

The best day was when the school principal honored me with the Student of The Year Award for my academic, sports, and overall discipline excellence. My parents had tears in their eyes, their chests pumped up with the feeling of pride and confidence.

I even gave a speech where I talked about the important role my parents played in my life. One can say I made them feel proud, but it was a very big moment for me and my family. I got the opportunity to make my family proud and show my parents that they have raised a son who is capable of overcoming any and every challenge.

My mother cooks 4 times of meals for the entire family. My father takes care of all the finances; from my academic expenses to everyone’s day-to-day requirements. I don’t consider myself worthy of their love and support if I cannot make them proud. But, I managed to make them feel proud, for they backed me every time I hit the ground.

I still remember my mother asking me how my school and training were. She even asked me if I was doing enough or do I needed anything else for my training. I consider my family as my greatest strength. We all must make our parents proud not just by working hard but by doing our best every day.

You need to highlight the key elements and emotions of what made it the best day of your life. You can start by telling how the morning was or how you were feeling, and then talk about specific events or moments that made the day extraordinary. It can be any major or minor event that made you emotionally and personally attracted to it. Where you are describing this day, make sure everything you have in store is authentic and genuine.

To make your speech perfect, you must connect with your audience. A sense of belonging develops when people are able to relate their stories. Even simple moments like family time or picnics, vacations, temple visits, etc. can be counted as memorable days, where you are present as yourself.

Talk about how you were feeling on that particular day and about your plan. Try to keep simple language where there is room for more information and is entertaining when you talk about it. You are out of time so do not go into details. Just give 7 to 10 seconds of intro and focus on the body of your speech.

Trump tells Christian voters they "won't have to vote anymore" if he is elected in November

By Katrina Kaufman , Lucia Suarez Sang

Updated on: July 28, 2024 / 7:30 AM EDT / CBS News

Former President Donald Trump told attendees at a conservative Christian event on Friday night that they "won't have to vote anymore" if he is elected into office in November. He implored Christians to save America by voting "just this time," so that he can win the presidential election in a landslide "that's too big to rig."

Trump, who is the Republican Party's candidate for president, made his remarks at the end of a speech at The Believers' Summit, an event hosted by the conservative advocacy group Turning Point Action, in West Palm Beach, Florida.

"Christians get out and vote. Just this time," he urged. "You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years. You know what? It'll be fixed. It'll be fine. You won't have to vote anymore my beautiful Christians."

US-VOTE-POLITICS-TRUMP

Trump continued: "I love you Christians and I'm a Christian. I love you, you got to get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not going to have to vote."

On social media, there were some calls of alarm in response to Trump's comments, expressing concern that they alluded to authoritarianism and could be interpreted as an indication that he would not leave office if he wins the election.

"Democracy is in danger. This is not a drill," posted Allison Gill, who co-hosts the podcast "Jack," along with an image displaying Trump's message to Christians.

Toward the end of his hour-long speech, Trump said that the Democrats rigged the 2020 presidential election, which Trump falsely maintained that he won over President Biden.

The audience gave him a standing ovation, chanting: "Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight" and fist-pumping the way Trump did after a bullet grazed his ear during an attempted assassination at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania two weeks ago.

Trump shared that he had removed the last bandage from his ear just before speaking at the event.

"I just took it off. I took it off for this group. I don't know why I did that for this group, but that's it," he said.

Before Friday night's event, Trump had first been wearing a large white bandage over his ear. By the time of his rally in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday, he was wearing a more discreet flesh-colored one.

CBS News reached out to the Trump campaign for comment on his remarks.

Trump spoke to a packed audience at the summit just hours after meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago. Netanyahu met with Mr. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris separately a day earlier at the White House. Event organizers said about 3,500 people attended the former president's speech.

He spent much of his speech criticizing Harris, who is the presumptive Democratic nominee for president after President Biden decided to drop his reelection bid.

Other speakers at the two-day event, which focused on "unity and biblical truth," included former Trump adviser Peter Navarro, Dr. Ben Carson, Housing and Urban Development Secretary during the Trump administration and conservative political activist Charlie Kirk.

Navarro, who was recently released from prison, spoke shortly before Trump and led the audience in a chant of: "If we don't control our government, their government will control us."

He told the audience that the justice system had unfairly gone after him, using rhetoric similar to that often used by Trump.

"What happened to me, can happen to you," said Navarro. "If they can come for Donald Trump, they can come for you."

Navarro served a four-month sentence for defying a congressional subpoena. He was  released earlier this month.

The former president has previously sought to appeal to evangelical Christians.

In June, he told a group of politically influential evangelical Christians in Washington that they "cannot afford to sit on the sidelines" of the 2024 election, imploring them at one point to "go and vote, Christians, please!"

Former President Donald Trump struck several familiar notes in his address to Christians at Turning Point Action’s “Believers Summit” in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The gathering of religious conservatives Friday night was an opportunity for Trump to appeal to the critical Republican voting bloc. The Republican nominee promised to protect religious freedom and touted his history of supporting the Israeli government.

Trump also urged Christians to turn out for him ahead of Election Day, calling it the "most important election ever." He added that if elected, Christian-related concerns will be "fixed" so much so that they would no longer need to be politically engaged.

"You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what? It’ll be fixed, it’ll be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians," he said.

Trump also promised to create an anti-Christian bias federal task force, as well as to defund schools "pushing critical race theory, transgender insanity, and other inappropriate racial, sexual or political content onto the lives of our children."

Friday night was Trump's second campaign speech since Biden stepped out of the race and endorsed Vice President Harris as the Democratic nominee.

At the summit, Trump spent extensive time attacking Harris.

US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris speaks at her campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, on July 22, 2024.

As she is poised to be the Democratic nominee, here are 5 facts about Kamala Harris

"If Kamala Harris gets in, she will be the most extreme radical liberal president in American history," Trump said.

Children pick up so much from listening (ask any parent) and unlocking the number of (quality) words a child can listen to holds tremendous potential in their development. The web pages you allow your children to read come alive. For parents Parents can live an exhausting life sometimes. Work and personal life clash and there’s just no time. JD Vance, an Unlikely Friendship and Why It Ended

His political views differed from a transgender classmate’s, but they forged a bond that lasted a decade — until Mr. Vance seemed to pivot, politically and personally.

JD Vance speaking behind a Trump-Vance sign.

By Stephanie Saul

Stephanie Saul, who covers education, reviewed about 90 emails and text messages spanning between 2014 and 2017.

When his book, “Hillbilly Elegy,” was published in 2016, JD Vance sent an email apologizing to a close friend from his Yale Law School days. The friend identified as transgender, but Mr. Vance referred to them in the book as a lesbian.

Listen to this article with reporter commentary

“Hey Sofes, here’s an excerpt from my book,” Mr. Vance wrote to his friend, Sofia Nelson. “I send this to you not just to brag, but because I’m sure if you read it you’ll notice reference to ‘an extremely progressive lesbian.’”

“I recognize now that this may not accurately reflect how you think of yourself, and for that I am really sorry,” he wrote. “I hope you’re not offended, but if you are, I’m sorry! Love you, JD.”

Nelson wrote back the same day, calling Mr. Vance “buddy” and thanking him for “being sweet,” adding, “If you had written gender queer radical pragmatist, nobody would know what you mean.” Nelson asked for an autographed copy, then signed off with, “Love, Sofia.”

That exchange is from a series of emails between two friends, part of a close-knit group of 16 students who remained together throughout their first law school semester in the fall of 2010. As now-Senator Vance seeks the vice presidency, Nelson has shared about 90 of their emails and text messages, primarily from 2014 through 2017, with The New York Times.

Speech on Life Experience

Life experience shapes who you are. It’s the rich tapestry of events, emotions, and interactions that color your world.

Every moment, good or bad, adds a unique thread to this tapestry. It’s your own personal journey, full of lessons and memories that are yours alone.

1-minute Speech on Life Experience

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today, let’s talk about ‘Life Experience’. We all have it. It’s like a big, colorful painting we make every day. Each day adds a new color, a new shape to our painting. It’s our own art, telling our special story.

Our life experiences start the moment we open our eyes for the first time. We learn to walk, talk, and play. We learn to love and to share. These are our first life experiences. They are special and important. They shape us, teaching us the basics of life.

As we grow older, so does our painting. We start to go to school, meet friends, learn new things. We sometimes win, sometimes lose. But every experience adds a new stroke to our painting. It helps us grow, become stronger, smarter, kinder.

Life experiences are not always happy. Sometimes they are tough, painful. But they are like dark colors in our painting. They add depth, make it more beautiful, more real. They teach us to be brave, to be patient. They make us who we are.

Remember, every experience is important, whether good or bad. They shape our painting, our life story. So let’s embrace them. Let’s accept every color, every shape they bring. Because, in the end, they make our painting, our story, unique and special.

2-minute Speech on Life Experience

Life is like a thrilling book. Each day is a new page, filled with adventures, lessons, and experiences that shape us into the people we are today. Life experiences, big or small, are the brushes that color our canvas of life. They are the stories we tell, the lessons we learn, and the wisdom we gain.

Let’s start by looking at the adventures life offers us. Each step we take outside our comfort zone is a step towards a new adventure. Be it trying a new food, learning a new skill, or making a new friend, every new thing we do adds a unique hue to our life. These adventures make our life vibrant and exciting. They teach us to be brave, to embrace change, and most importantly, they show us that life is full of endless possibilities.

Now, let’s talk about learning from life. Life, dear friends, is the biggest teacher. It’s full of lessons that textbooks can’t teach us. Every experience, be it joyful or tough, comes with its lesson. A lost game teaches us resilience, a won race instills confidence, a failed test teaches us the power of hard work. With each lesson, we grow a little more, understand a little better, and become a little wiser.

Next, life experiences also bring wisdom. Wisdom is not just about knowing what’s right or wrong. It’s about understanding life, people, and situations. It’s about learning to make decisions that are best for us. Life experiences, with their twists and turns, guide us on this path of wisdom. They help us understand the world around us, they help us grow from within, and they help us become better individuals.

Finally, life experiences create our unique stories. Each one of us has a different story to tell, a different journey to share. These stories are shaped by our experiences. They define us, they make us who we are. Our life experiences, our stories, are our greatest assets. They set us apart, they make us unique.

In conclusion, life experiences are the threads that weave the tapestry of our lives. They give us adventures to seek, lessons to learn, wisdom to gain, and stories to tell. They make our lives rich and meaningful. So let’s not shy away from new experiences. Let’s embrace them, learn from them, and grow with them. Because, at the end of the day, it’s these experiences that truly define our journey of life.

‘Charger hogs’ are ruining the electric vehicle experience. One company is clamping down on bad manners

Peter Valdes-Dapena

Sometimes, technology doesn’t fulfill its promise. But, other times, it isn’t the tech that let’s you down, it’s the people using it. So one electric vehicle charging company company is experimenting with cutting off people who linger, attempting to “fill ‘er up.”

Recently, I drove a new Chevrolet Blazer EV from New York City to Bristol, Pennsylvania. I figured the drive down to Bristol with my family would take about 90 minutes and, since I didn’t start with a full battery, the return trip would take 15 to 20 minutes more with a stop along the way to charge up the EV some.

I was so very wrong.

It took us four hours to get home that night. We were sitting in line for electric vehicle chargers. Blame ill-mannered charger hogs who don’t respect EV etiquette. It’s like waiting for your table in a restaurant while watching people casually chat over empty plates and half-empty wine glasses.

What’s wrong? EV fast chargers – the big tall units that look like major appliances – aren’t generally designed to completely fill an EV’s batteries. They are designed to pour electricity into a battery quickly so drivers can make a short stop and get back on the road after, say, 20 minutes or so. They’re different from the smaller and more common “slow” or “destination chargers,” in Tesla parlance, that are designed for drivers to park, plug in… and leave for hours.

A line of EVs wait to charge at Electrify America chargers in East Brunswick, New Jersey, on July 6.

Fast charging can be stressful for a car’s batteries, though. So, to protect batteries from damage, charging speeds slow way down once batteries get beyond 80% full. In fact, it can take as long, or even longer, to go from 80% charged to completely full than to reach 80%. Meanwhile, lines of electric vehicles wait behind almost-full cars.

I was waiting behind people with batteries that were 92%, 94% and even 97% full, as I could see on the charger screens. Still, they stayed there. I made my own situation worse by giving up on one location and going to another with more chargers, but there were even more EVs waiting there.

Given that a lack of public charging is turning many consumers off to EVs, according to multiple surveys , this is a major issue.

Electrify America, one of America’s biggest charging companies, is experimenting with a solution to the problem of charger hogs who can make it slow and unpleasant to travel in an EV. At 10 of the busiest EV fast charging stations in California, Electrify America has enacted a strict limit. Once a car’s batteries are 85% charged, charging will automatically stop and the driver will be told to unplug and leave or face additional 40-cent-per-minute “idle time” fees for taking the space.

It’s similar to something Tesla vehicles do automatically. When a Tesla car, truck or SUV plugs into a particularly heavily-used Supercharger station, the vehicle itself may automatically limit charging to just 80% “to reduce congestion,” according to Tesla’s on-line Supercharger Support web page .

In that case, though, the user can still override the limit using the vehicle’s touchscreen. There will be no getting around Electrify America’s limit. A driver who wants to charge to 100% at one of these stations will need to go someplace else.

Charger access has been a sore point among EV owners for years (note the complaining rants on Reddit and LinkedIn). But it’s becoming a more critical issue because, even though the rate of EV sales growth is tapering off, the number of EVs on the road that need charging is still increasing.

“I think what you’re seeing is demand for public fast charging is really skyrocketing,” said Sara Rafalson, executive vice president for policy at EV charging company EVgo , “and I would say we’ve been really at an inflection point in the last year, year and a half, with demand.”

Why so many drivers hog so few chargers

Given the sharply dropping speed curve of EV chargers it would make the most sense to unplug at 80% and just stop at another charger later to fill to 80% again. That would always take advantage of a fast charger’s highest speeds.

Electric cars are still pretty new to most owners, and their “refueling” habits are based on what they’ve been used to from driving gas cars, said Robert Barrosa, president of the EV charging company Electrify America. People go to a gas pump to “fill up,” and many will treat a charger the same way. Many new EV owners may not even be aware that there is always a drastic slow-down in charging speed past 80%.

But what if the nearest fast charger is, say, at least 15 or 20 minutes out of the way? The relative scarcity of chargers, and long distances between them , can make people want to stick around a while once they find one.

“Once you’re at a charger, it’s like ‘Oh, yeah. I’m filling all the way, ’ ” said Barrosa.

Both Electrify America and EVgo said they are rapidly expanding their networks to, as EVgo’s Rafalson put it, “skate ahead of the puck,” trying to make sure there are enough chargers to meet future demand. An ample supply of chargers could help mitigate the sort of electricity hoarding behavior that’s common at chargers now.

The problem of users taking up chargers may be exacerbated by Electrify America’s own free charging agreements with various automakers, including Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai. When charging time costs nothing, there’s no financial incentive to unplug. Like diners ordering more endless shrimp at Red Lobster , some EV drivers take full advantage , to the growing the frustration of others waiting behind them.

There can also be other legitimate reasons a driver may want to charge to 100% at a fast charger, said Barrosa. For instance, they may be taking a long trip to someplace where they know there will be few chargers. Or they may be driving an EV with relatively little range, like a Fiat 500e or Mazda MX-30, so they need to cram in all they can. Cases like these are why Electrify America probably won’t institute an overall charging cap at charging stations near major highways, he said.

Charging companies like Electrify America have an immense amount of real-time data on charger usage, so a more nuanced approach than a simple limit at certain chargers would be possible. Some EV charging companies have experimented with plans that charge different amounts of money at different times to give drivers incentives to fill their batteries at less busy hours. For now, at least , Electrify America executives want to keep things simple, said Barrosa, so drivers know what to expect when they arrive at a charging station.

For the time being, let’s just hope that EV drivers who don’t really need to fill all the way up will learn to be more considerate.
