  1. Old (2021) [No Spoilers] : r/CP_Movie_Reviews

Old (2021) [No Spoilers] I really wanted this film to be good. I like M. Night. He's not the greatest director in the world but he's talented and I've always rooted for him. This film had an interesting plot and it threw it all away. This was a boring film all through out it's runtime. It never picked up.

  2. Brief non-spoiler review of "Old" : r/horror

Brief non-spoiler review of "Old". I'd give it a 6/10. I couldn't tell if the acting was bad or if actors were directed to be kinda strange to make the vibe of the film creepy. The pacing is decent, and there's surprisingly a lot of life concepts built into the script- which I didn't think of going into it. Theres a lot of body horror.

  3. Just watched "Old." It's official, M. Night Shyamalan has ...

Absolutely. SPOILERS (b/c I don't know how to do the spoiler blackout on my phone): I was actually hoping that it would end with them saying "wanna build a sandcastle?" and forgetting all about escaping--highlighting the fact that they're kids and don't really understand long-term consequences. But then all th explanatory stuff ruined it even more.

  8. Old movie review & film summary (2021)

Rod Serling would have loved it. And "Old" is very effective when Shyamalan is being playful and quick with his high concept. "Old" doesn't really feel like a traditional mystery. I never once cared about "figuring out" what was happening to this crew, enjoying "Old" far more as surreal horror than as a thriller that demanded ...

Adapted from Sandcastle, the graphic novel by Pierre-Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters, M. Night Shyamalan's latest mystery-thriller, Old, is different from the films he's written and directed in the past. The film is less focused on the traditional horror elements, which is refreshing, even as it shifts towards a message that is underdeveloped when considering the big twist.

  25. It Ends with Us movie review & film summary (2024)

The PG-13 rating keeps the violence Ryle inflicts on Lily, or her father's violence in the flashbacks, to a minimum visually (and often seen in slow motion or in choppy montages), Christy Hall's script unfortunately often falls into "as the father of daughters" territory, giving more care to explaining why these men are the way they are (especially in Ryle's case, in the film's most cringe ...
