Sequential Progression
Students enrolled in the nursing program are subject to three different minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) standards. Nursing classes have a prefix of NB and NL. Students who are enrolled in courses that are prerequisites for nursing classes or general education courses required for the degree must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00. Students are, however, advised that maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.00 is not sufficient to meet the standard for enrollment in nursing classes.
Students must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.70 in order to initially enroll in nursing classes (see below).
After the first semester of enrollment in nursing classes, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50. Once a student progresses to the nursing major and falls below the minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA, the student must appeal in writing to the Division of Nursing for consideration (see progression policy below). A one-time grace period for the semester following the GPA of less than 2.50 is granted in order to give the student the opportunity to raise the GPA to the 2.50 standard before dismissal from the program.
Enrollment in entry level nursing courses (NB 215/NL 215) will be permitted only if students have:
Completed all prerequisite courses
Earned a grade of "C" (2.00) or above in all required nursing major and health professions track requirement courses and in the following courses: CT 233, EN 133, and RS 293.
Maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.70 or higher.
Students may continue to progress according to the curriculum plan if they:
Complete all prerequisite courses prior to enrollment in any nursing course
Earn a grade of "C" (2.00) or above in all required nursing major and health professions track requirement courses
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher
Maintain an unencumbered and active license and be in compliance with all states where PC is authorized to offer the program and other appropriate state Nurse Practice Acts (LPN and RN students)
The RN student who is practicing as a community health nurse may be eligible to challenge NB 462/NL 462 per a portfolio. Courses successfully challenged through the portfolio process will be recorded on the transcript for a fee, not including the cost of the portfolio fee.
Demonstrate satisfactory performance of designated nursing skills with each clinical course and earn a satisfactory grade in both the theory and clinical/lab components of the nursing courses.
Pass the math calculation competency test at 100% each semester in selected clinical courses (RNs are exempt) (see Handbook for policy).
Remain in compliance with the standards of the nursing profession as defined by the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of practice and the Nurse Practice Act for nurses in states in which Presentation College is authorized to offer the program.
Maintain all rules and regulations of Presentation College as outlined in the College Catalog .
Maintain current background screen(s), nursing documentation, immunizations, and other requirements in the Viewpoint Document Tracker which are valid for the entirety of the next academic semester by the deadlines of April 1st for the summer semester, August 1st for the fall semester, and December 1st for the spring semester. The cost of these items is the student's responsibility. See the Nursing Student Handbook for specific requirements.
LPN-BSN students (diploma, associate degree, or certificate) will have the opportunity to complete selected NLN mobility exams. The selected NLNs must be completed prior to enrolling in the first nursing course of NB 215/NL 215, or a signed waiver must be on file with the Division of Nursing forfeiting the right to take NLNs and agreeing to complete required coursework and clinical. Students must meet the benchmark on all of the mobility NLN exams that are attempted. If students do not meet the benchmark the first time, they will do informal remediation to master the content before retaking the exam. All students are allowed ONLY two attempts on each NLN mobility exam. Students who do not pass the exam on the second attempt will be required to take the appropriate coursework and accompanying clinical.
The benchmarks for the diploma and associate LPN NLN mobility exams are outlined below:
NACE II Care of the Adult Client is 74%
NACE II Care of the Client with a Mental Disorder is 72%
NACE II Care of the Childbearing Family is 72%
NACE II Care of the Child is 72%
Multilevel achievement exam Anatomy and Physiology is 70%
Multilevel achievement exam Microbiology is 70%
Please note that both the NACE II Care of the Childbearing Family and NACE II Care of the Child must successfully be passed in order to receive credit for Maternal-Child Nursing. Courses challenged with exams will be recorded on the transcript for a fee, not including the challenge test fee. Contact the Career and Learning Center for scores for the CLEP exam equivalent to EN 113 College Composition I (prerequisite to EN 133) and CH 103/CL 101 Introduction to Chemistry (prerequisite to CH 140).
For the diploma and associate LPN *successful challenge exams can include credit as follows:
NLN mobility exam NLN NACE II Care of the Client with a Mental Disorder: NB 345/NL 345 (4 credits) and PS 133 (3 credits)
NLN mobility exam NLN NACE II Care of the Childbearing Family and NLN NACE II Care of the Child: NB 331/NL 331 (5 credits) and PS 153 (3 credits)
NLN mobility exam NLN NACE II Care of the Adult Client: NB 364/NL 364 (5 credits), BI 263 (3 credits) BL 263 (1 credit), BI 293 (3 credits), and BL 291 (1 credit)
Anatomy and Physiology: BI 293 (3 credits) and BL 291 (1 credit)
Microbiology: BI 263 (3 credits) and BL 263 (1 credit)
EN 113: College Composition I - CLEP (prerequisite to EN 133) (3 credits)
Students who do not progress according to the curriculum plan as identified, fail, or withdraw from nursing courses must petition in writing to the Division of Nursing Admission and Progression Committee to gain permission to progress out of the expected sequence (email [email protected]).
A nursing course may be repeated one time only regardless of whether students earn less than a "C" or withdraw failing ( "WF" ).
Students who earn less than a "C" or withdraw failing ( "WF" ) in two nursing courses in two separate semesters will not be allowed to progress.
Students are accountable to follow all policies in the current Nursing Student Handbook.
In keeping with accreditation guidelines, nursing students shall complete their coursework within six calendars years, which is equivalent to 150% of the expected time allotted for program completion. In the event that students are unable to complete program requirements within the six-year timeframe, they will have a one-time opportunity to create a coursework completion plan which shall set forth a program of study for the remaining coursework to be completed within a two-year time period. The completion plan must be approved by the Nursing Division. Failure to successfully complete the remaining coursework as outlined in the completion plan within the two-year timeframe will result in termination from the program.
Failure to achieve any of these standards shall constitute reason for students to be dismissed from the program. The faculty and administration of the Division of Nursing reserve the right to dismiss any student enrolled in the major for unethical, dishonest, unprofessional, or illegal conduct that is inconsistent with the ANA Code for Nurses.
Readmission - Progression
Students requesting readmission-progression must apply in writing to the Division of Nursing (email [email protected]). Student situations are reviewed on an individual basis. Placement is dependent upon class size and course enrollment constraints. Readmission-progression cannot be guaranteed to any student. A formal letter of provisional acceptance and or the outcome of the appeal stating the terms of the appeal will be sent to the student via email and placed in the official academic file.
Specific guidelines for readmission-progression include the following:
A nursing course earned less than a "C" (2.00) or withdrawn failing ( "WF" ) may be repeated only one time.
Non-nursing science courses may be repeated only one time.
A repeated course must be repeated within the next academic year at its earliest offering.
Students who have earned less than a 2.00 ("C") in two science courses (either lab or lecture) at Presentation College or another institution (same course repeated or two different courses) within the last three academic years (fall-spring) will not be readmitted.
If students are allowed to repeat a nursing course, they must repeat the course as availability allows.
Students may appeal decisions in writing based on course repetition policies to the Division of Nursing (email [email protected]). The appeal should include a recommendation from the academic advisor or course instructor. Decisions on appeal requests are the responsibility of the Division of Nursing and may be approved or denied on a case-by-case basis.
Meet College readmission-progression criteria.
Demonstrate a satisfactory level of knowledge from prerequisite nursing courses.
Successfully validate prior medication calculation competency and clinical skills*.
Readmitted students will be expected to meet graduation requirements in effect at the time of readmission-progression and to follow the baccalaureate degree nursing policies in effect for that academic year.
Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.70 or higher to be considered for readmission-progression.
A tuition deposit is required to hold a place in the class (waived for online completion students).
Students must meet #1 – 6 under "Progression to All Nursing Programs (General Requirements and Information) ".
*The range of fees for validation of mathematics and nursing skills is $50 - $150 dependent upon which semester of the program students re-enter. See the Nursing Student Handbook for detailed discussion of program policies.
Graduation Requirements
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is granted by Presentation College to those candidates who have completed the 121-credit requirement as described in the nursing curriculum course plan and who have met all degree requirements of Presentation College.
A cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher is required to graduate from the program.
In compliance with the Boards of Nursing, 50% of the student’s clinical experiences must be completed face-to-face in the clinical environment.
The fulfillment of clinical requirements will be verified in NB 472: Nursing Seminar. Students not meeting this requirement will be given an opportunity to complete the required face-to-face clinical hours prior to the completion of NB 472: Nursing Seminar.
State Board of Nursing Regulations for Licensure
The Board of Nursing may deny, revoke, or suspend any license or application for licensure or may take corrective action if the licensee or applicant has:
Been convicted or pled guilty to a felony. If the applicant has a felony conviction, or if the applicant has ever pled guilty to a felony, the Board of Nursing should be contacted before seeking progression to the nursing program;
Become addicted to the habitual use of intoxicating liquors or controlled drugs.
Prior to the Division of Nursing approval for the candidate’s licensure (NCLEX-RN) application, all College graduation requirements must be met and students’ accounts must be cleared. Official transcripts or certificates of completion of education program forms will not be released to State Boards of Nursing until students have successfully completed Division of Nursing requirements for NCLEX-RN preparation. No exceptions to the Division of Nursing NCLEX-RN preparation requirements will be made.

🤩 North Carolina's perfect opening act
🐺 NC State's new MCWS dream
Wayne Cavadi | NCAA.com | June 11, 2024
Here are the programs with the most men's college world series titles.
Here are the DI college baseball programs with the most Men's College World Series titles:
USC has won 12 Men's College World Series championships
LSU is alone in second with seven after winning the title in 2023
Texas follows with six
Arizona State has won five
Arizona, Cal State Fullerton, Miami (Fla.) are tied with four
Minnesota and Oregon State have each won three
Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Stanford, Oklahoma, Michigan and California have each won two
The Trojans dominated college baseball through the 1970s, winners of the most college baseball national championships in MCWS history. Sparked by an unprecedented and still unmatched five title runs in a row, the Trojans have almost double the amount of titles than the next closest school in the history of the Men's College World Series. That run produced future Major League Baseball players like Fred Lynn, Dave Kingman, Roy Smalley and Rich Dauer, amongst a bevy of others.
7 — LSU (1991, 1993, 1996-97, 2000, 2009, 2023)
It took a while, but once head coach Skip Bertman arrived on campus in 1984, the Tigers began to transform into a national powerhouse. In a 10-year span, he led the Tigers to five championships, becoming one of just three head coaches (Rod Dedeaux and Augie Garrido being the other two) to win five titles. Todd Walker would become a legend at Alex Box Stadium before embarking on a successful MLB career. Jay Johnson then coached the Tigers to their seventh crown in 2023, in only his second season with the program.
HISTORY: Coaches with most MCWS wins | Schools with the most appearances
6 — Texas (1949-50, 1975, 1983, 2002, 2005)
Three iconic head coaches, each with two national championships apiece. Texas baseball has withstood the test of time in the NCAA tournament, and while Southern California may have the most championships, Texas’ sustained success since the earliest years of the Men's College World Series is unrivaled, with as many national runners-up finishes in the Men's College World Series finals as titles. The Longhorns began the illustrious history in Omaha with the first Men's College World Series title at Rosenblatt Stadium. Roger Clemens won a title in 1983 with the Longhorns, and 35 years later, his son Kody Clemens returned to Omaha, but the Longhorns couldn't pull in No. 7.
5 — Arizona State (1965, 1967, 1969, 1977, 1981)
Like the Longhorns, the Sun Devils' success can be marked in wins as well as losses. Jim Brock led them to Omaha 13 times, and Arizona State has been to 10 championship finals, walking away victorious half the time. That first Sun Devils championship team produced Rick Monday, Sal Bando, and Duffy Dyer, who all went on to win at least one MLB World Series title in their careers as well.
4 (tied) — Arizona (1976, 1980, 1986, 2012)
Here’s a fun fact. Coaching legend Jerry Kendall, who led the Wildcats to three national championships in 10 years, won a championship himself as a player with Minnesota in 1956. Arizona was a force in the late 1970s and 1980s and then won again in 2012, ending South Carolina’s quest for a three-peat.
4 (tied) — Cal State Fullerton (1979, 1984, 1995, 2004)
Augie Garrido helped keep the Titans relevant for four straight decades — kind of. Cal State Fullerton won twice during his first tenure, and then once more when he returned in the 1990s from a brief hiatus at Illinois. Ten years later, Garrido was on the losing side of a Cal State Fullerton Men's College World Series title. He was the skipper of the Texas team that lost to George Horton’s lone championship.
4 (tied) — Miami (Fla.) (1982, 1985, 1999, 2001)
Miami has been to Omaha its fair share of times, winning four of its six trips to the finals. The Hurricanes have been involved in some memorable Men's College World Series championship games, pitting iconic coaches and college baseball players against each other like in their 1974 loss to Rod Dedeaux, their 1985 win over Texas and a battle for the Sunshine State against Florida State in 1999.
3 (tied) — Minnesota (1956, 1960, 1964)
Minnesota was amongst the earliest college baseball powerhouses, as Dick Siebert led the Gophers to three titles between 1956 and 1964. Perhaps the most memorable was the 1960 three-game series against USC. Game 1 witnessed the largest comeback in MCWS history as the Gophers came back from down 11-2 to win 12-11 in the 10th, while both Game 2 and Game 3 went to extra innings, as the Gophers downed the Trojans 2-1 in the 10th on a bases-loaded walk in the finale.
3 (tied) — Oregon State (2006-07, 2018)
Pat Casey ended his career with the Beavers a winner, taking Oregon State to the 2018 national championship over the Arkansas Razorbacks. It was his third title after becoming the fifth head coach to win back-to-back titles in 2006-07.
MORE MCWS HISTORY: Game 3 results | Longest home runs (we think)
2 — Six tied
Vanderbilt (2014, 2019)
The Vandy Boys are the newest member of the club, winning its second title in six years. Tim Corbin has turned the Commodores into a national powerhouse that also has a runner-up on their resume in 2015.
South Carolina (2010-11)
The Gamecocks went back-to-back, winning in 2010 and then again in 2011. Ray Tanner entered the fraternity of back-to-back champs, joining coaches Bibb Falk (Texas), Dedeaux (Southern California), Mark Marquess (Stanford), Bertman (LSU) and Casey.
Stanford (1987-88)
Marquess could easily have more titles to his name, making it to consecutive Men's College World Series finals again in 2000 and 2001. There, he lost to LSU's Bertman and Miami's Jim Morris in a showdown of college baseball coaching greats. Two years later, Stanford reached the MCWS finals, where Marquess lost to Rice.
Oklahoma (1951, 1994)
The Sooners had some space between their national championship seasons, waiting 43 years to get back to the MCWS finals. Oklahoma is one of four teams to make at least two appearances in the MCWS and not lose a championship series.
Michigan (1953, 1962)
The Wolverines made the Men's College World Series finals twice in a 10-year span, and despite a few more trips in the 1970s and 1980s couldn't get back to the big game. That all changed in 2019 when the Wolverines made a memorable run from the "last four in" to the NCAA tournament all the way to the championship series, where they took Vanderbilt to the limit.
California (1947, 1957)
The Golden Bears were the winners of the first Men's College World Series in college baseball history, as Clint Evans' squad defeated Yale 8-7. It was one of three MCWS finals not played in Omaha, Nebraska, but instead, was the first of two played in Kalamazoo, Michigan. California returned 10 years later to win over Penn State.

OU softball sweeps Texas, captures record fourth consecutive WCWS championship
OU’s sensational senior class is leaving on a high note.
One of the Sooners’ juniors came up with the game’s biggest play, with Cydney Sanders delivering a three-run double in the fourth and then OU’s pitching hanging on from there as the Sooners won their fourth consecutive Women’s College World Series title with an 8-4 win over Texas on Thursday at Devon Park.
The Sooners finish the season 59-7. During the past four seasons, OU is 235-15.
"The thing about them is they're resilient," Sooners coach Patty Gasso said. "They have a lot of pride in that. With that, it's hard for me to comprehend. I continue to say this one was the hardest to manage. We lost a lot in the summer. Players through the portal, brought in some great ones."
A little more than a month ago, it looked like the Sooners were a long way away from being a championship-caliber team.
OU lost the first two games of the Bedlam series as it finished second in the Big 12 for the first time in more than a decade.
More: Mussatto: OU softball four-peats as national champions. 'We just did the impossible.'
But an 8-2 win over Oklahoma State on May 5 started to turn the tide.
From there, the Sooners looked much more like their old selves, winning 14 of 15 to win the program’s eighth national title and further cement Gasso among the greatest coaches in the sport’s history.
OU tied Arizona for second with eight titles. UCLA has won 12.
Gasso tied legendary Arizona coach Mike Candrea for most national titles as a head coach.
The Sooners entered the season on an NCAA-record winning streak and kept it rolling, winning their first 18 before falling to Louisiana on March 3 to close out the opening weekend at Love’s Field.
The Sooners dropped a three-game series to the Longhorns in early April as the offense managed just one run in back-to-back games.
Even more stunningly, OU fell to BYU 9-4 at home April 12.
Then they lost the first two games to Oklahoma State.
But the Sooners turned a corner, rallying around their senior class even as freshmen Ella Parker and Kasidi Pickering continually came up huge.

They did again Thursday, with Pickering delivering a two-run homer in the second inning and Parker a two-run single in the sixth to help the Sooners win the title yet again.
Once Sanders put the Sooners’ up front, OU relied on its bullpen.
Nicole May — part of that fantastic senior class that also includes Kinzie Hansen, Jayda Coleman, Tiare Jennings and Rylie Boone — came in and kept the Longhorns off-balance with her changeup before finding some trouble in the sixth.
Then, it was time for Gasso to call in Kelly Maxwell.
Maxwell got the last four outs, getting Katie Stewart to ground out to third to end the inning, setting off the celebration on the field and in the stands.
"I'm just thankful that I got to be a part of this," Maxwell said. "We've been through a lot this year."
Here are two other quick takeaways from the win:

Patty Gasso goes with unconventional pitching plan
After Kelly Maxwell threw a combined 167 pitches over 15 innings the previous two days, Sooners coach Patty Gasso gave Maxwell a breather Thursday.
It figured that Nicole May or Kierston Deal, who have combined for 35 starts this season, would get the call.
Instead, Gasso went with Liberty transfer Karlie Keeney.
Keeney had thrown just one inning against the Longhorns in the Sooners’ five games against them this season, throwing a scoreless inning in the April 6 loss in Austin.
Keeney had thrown just a third of an inning in the WCWS, getting one batter in Monday’s loss to Florida.
Her last start came in the regular-season finale, when she went 6 ⅔ in a win over Oklahoma State.
Keeney was far from perfect Thursday, but she helped keep the Sooners in it.
She ultimately gave up two runs in 2 ⅔ innings before giving way to Paytn Monticelli — who hadn’t pitched since May 9 against Kansas.
After that, Gasso went with Deal in the fourth before turning to May and then, ultimately, Kelly Maxwell.
It was the first time in WCWS Championship Series history that a team used five pitchers.
"This is one of the most enjoyable games I've ever been a part of because of that," Gasso said.

Texas makes huge miscue with game on the line
The Longhorns looked like they had a prime opportunity to tie or take the lead in the sixth, when Mia Scott dribbled an infield single to pull Texas within one and give them runners at the corners with Viviana Martinez coming to the plate.
But Scott turned toward second, trying to goad the Sooners into a rundown that could allow the tying run to score.
OU second baseman Avery Hodge reacted too fast, though, quickly flipping the ball to Sanders for the third out of the inning.
"No one feels worse than Mia Scott right now," Longhorns coach Mike White said. "Everything happens for a reason. She's sheeky. That's part of her M.O. That's what she does. ... It was a big moment in that game. Everybody knows it. She's already beaten herself up. I know she is. Hopefully she learns from that."
