gl account requires an assignment to a co object sap

While posting goods receipt, i am getting the following error: Account requires an assignment to a CO object (Message no. KI235). Can anyone pls tell if this is a MM, FI/CO, SPRO settings issue?? How to go about resolving the error.

You have a cost account defined in accounts determination (OBYC). But every cost account must have a cost object associated (internal order, cost center, and so on). You must decide what is the cost object to 'receive' the cost value on the account.

An account assigned as cost element must contain a real CO Object. Resolution. Account assignment objects in Controlling are orders, cost centers, projects, cost objects, networks, special make-to-order sales orders, and profitability segments.

When you create a GL account as cost element, CO object will become mandatory automatically. You dont have to do anything for that. If you want to fix the CO object for that particular GL account/Cost element, then you can assign CO object in Cost element master record or in OKB9.

When posting a goods receipt using the webgui tile 'Post Goods Movement', the posting fails with error 'Account & requires an assignment to a CO object' - KI235.

I am using IDOC basic type FIDCCP02 to post a GL Document, but I recieve error saying that account requires an assignment to a CO Object. The screen field is 'Account assignment group for this customer' , or KTGRD.

While passing this entry we are getting an error "Account XXXXXXX requires an assignment to a CO object". We have checked assignment of G/L account to the cost centre in transaction OKB9 and find it correct.
