Bleach Reveals Release Date for Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3

Bleach's creator promised to rescue one fan-favorite character in the anime's next season, chainsaw man just introduced the biggest twist in the entire series with a subtle detail.

  • Uryu's new power in Bleach's Thousand-Year Blood War makes him extremely overpowered and a serious threat to the plot.
  • Uryu's "A" Schrift power, Antithesis, allows him to reverse outcomes, making him nearly unbeatable in battle.
  • Uryu's abilities, combined with his Vollstandig and other Quincy powers, make him one of the most formidable characters in Bleach's Soul Society.

Warning: Spoilers for Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War 's second part wasted no time getting down to the plot, with its opening scenes promoting Uryu to a position of prominence in the Quincy organization, as well as granting him a new power. It's the nature of this new power, however, that just might make Uryu too overpowered for the plot.

In Thousand-Year Blood War , Quincy leader Yhwach gives his subordinates a special power, known as a "schrift," which each corresponding to a letter of the alphabet. These powers can be quite strong, as seen with Bleach's Stern Ritter Y , who disguised himself as Yhwach and was able to fight at an incredible level while in that state. While most other Stern Ritter and their schrift abilities have yet to be demonstrated on screen, they're all enough to make their wielders a serious threat, and that goes for Uryu, too. There is one noteworthy aspect to Uryu receiving his schrift, though, and that's the fact that Yhwach says it is the same as his own.

Uryu's "A" Schrift Is One Of Bleach 's Strongest Powers

Bleach: Uryu swears allegiance to Yhwach and the Quincy.

Uryu was given the "A" Schrift, which in the manga is said to stand for "Antithesis." The Antithesis ability allows its wielder to take what has happened and reverse the outcome. If Uryu were losing and taking a lot of damage, for example, he could use the Antithesis ability to transfer all the damage he had taken to his opponent, while whatever had been dealt to his opponent would be transferred to him. Uryu isn't just limited to using this on himself, or even just on injuries; any two objects that have interacted are eligible for this reversal.

It's not hard to see how this ability could become story-breaking very soon. In some ways, it's similar to Orihime's ability to "reject" the occurrence of events, but the ability to not only undo, but reflect it back at one's opponent makes it far more powerful. While Uryu has yet to use this ability on screen in the Thousand-Year Blood War anime, his first opportunity to do so will soon arrive, as the Quincy launch their final war on Bleach's Soul Society . While the ability in Uryu's hands is scary enough, the thought that Yhwach has a similar ability makes him go from nearly impossible to completely unbeatable, barring the development of an even more overpowered technique.

How Uryu's Schrift Power Stacks Up Against Ichigo

Bleach TYBW: Uryu prepares to fire.

Of course, fans are very much looking forward to the inevitable moment when Uryu clashes with Ichigo. Antithesis is very powerful, and it's especially useful in the hands of someone as intelligent as Uryu. Ichigo, however, has gotten some major power-ups of his own since they last spoke, reforging his Zanpakuto and undergoing some brutal training in the Soul King's Palace. Ichigo's upgraded Bankai has yet to be used on-screen, so it's impossible to say just how powerful he has become, and whether it will be enough to defeat Uryu. One can't forget, however, that Uryu has access to Vollstandig and other Quincy powers in addition to his schrift, and that combination of powers makes him extremely formidable.

Uryu Gets One Of The Many Broken Powers That Appear In Thousand-Year Blood War

Yhwach animated

As manga readers know, many of the abilities shown by the Sternitters in the Thousand-Year Blood War arc are absolutely broken, or sometimes not explained enough - as is the case with Yhwach's powers that will be showcased later. Uryu has often struggled to keep up with power creep in Bleach , but with this ability at his disposal, that certainly won't be a problem any further. As Yhwach's successor and wielding the Antithesis ability, Uryu has gone from a run-of-the-mill Quincy to one of the Soul Society's greatest threats in all of Bleach .

The Almighty Explained (Bleach)

No Caption Provided

The Almighty (全知全能 lit. "All-Knowing All-Powerful") is the Schrift of Yhwach.

No Caption Provided

Like all Schrifts, The Almighty is an ability unique to the Quincy. They are each represented by a letter (or symbol). While both Yhwach and Ishida shares the same letter 'A', both of them have different Schrifts due to their different innate nature.

No Caption Provided

As the son of the Soul King, his letter awakens to be an ability that can see the future, one that the Soul King himself is capable of. While Yhwach has 3 pupils in his eye, the Soul King has 4, which might signify a greater extent of the ability.

No Caption Provided

When the Kanji of its name is read out directly, it is "All-Knowing All-Powerful". It can be translated to Omniscience and Omnipotence, which suggests two parts of its power.

No Caption Provided

The first ability "All-Knowing" allows him to forsee the distant future, and to "know" everything he sees. This might be how he countered Ichibei's Shikai of erasing his name. Yhwach can "know" his name by seeing into a possible future where he still owns his name.

No Caption Provided

The second ability "All-Powerful" is where all powers "take his side" when they cannot be used to kill or even harm him. This is how Ichibei's Bankai of giving him the name of an ant was peeled off.

No Caption Provided

It also allows him to "take and give all powers". When he gave his spiritual pressure that dwells in his sword to Ichigo, he could even command it to do what he intends.

No Caption Provided

Yhwach is also capable of self-fulfilling prophecies.

No Caption Provided

When Haschwalth borrowed the power, he admitted that his usage was no where near the extent or accuracy of Yhwach.

No Caption Provided

After Yhwach absorbed the Soul King, he was able to use the true power of The Almighty which is being able to alter the future he sees.

What it is Not

No Caption Provided

The Almighty is not not a reality warping ability. It is only an ability that allows the user to apply their existing powers to the future.

No Caption Provided

For example, Yhwach could revive his future self by using Auswahlen, another ability which he already owned. He gave his future self some power to revive.

No Caption Provided

While it nullifies powers, it does not nullify all physical phenomenon. Any direct attacks against his body will still affect him.

No Caption Provided

Like Auswahlen, The Almighty also works on powers themselves, not Reishi nor Reiryoku.

Ichibei's powers are black, with no Reiatsu to be sensed from it. Yet, the Almighty was able to nullify it.

No Caption Provided

It is impossible to anticipate his attacks because the effect which takes place in the present is only initiated by Yhwach in the past.

No Caption Provided

According to Yhwach, he can see countless possible futures. This is basically 5-dimensional perception as not only he can see all possibilities over a range of time.

No Caption Provided

He can even see the futures when he wasn't physically present. That means he doesn't see the future through the eyes of his future self, but with the eyes of his current self.

Just by once being there, Yhwach could forsee Ichibei being resurrected there in the future, even though he wasn't there anymore when Ichibei was being resurrected.

No Caption Provided

By extension, Yhwach can revive himself even after he is dead, as it does not require his presence in the future, but just in the present.

No Caption Provided

The Almighty cannot be negated by any power that works on reversing the effects of time, such as Orihime's Soten Kishun, as The Almighty works "in the coming future".

No Caption Provided

With the power of the Soul King, Yhwach's power can apparently affect the future as far as one decade later.

Limitations

No Caption Provided

The effectiveness of the ability is limited by how powerful the user is. When it was lent to Haschwalth, he admitted that he could not predict accurately should the future changes.

No Caption Provided

The Almighty can be deactivated by the user's choice. While that gives Yhwach flexibility, he can sometimes be too arrogant and give his opponent chance to strike.

No Caption Provided

It is also possible for Yhwach to misinterpret what he sees. Yhwach thought that the time he saw Ichigo as a threat was merely a dream Haschwalth made him see.

Space Limitation

No Caption Provided

Yhwach can only see and change the future of where he is currently located at. While he can remember the future of the place he once was, Yhwach cannot intervene with the future he remembers, but only what he sees directly.

No Caption Provided

This limitation is clearly shown when Yhwach admitted that he didn't expect Aizen to show up in Soul Society.

This is because he only awakened the Almighty at the Soul King Palace, and has never been to Soul Society with his Almighty eyes prior to this moment.

This is also the reason why Aizen's Kanzen Saimin worked. If Yhwach were to be here prior, he would've noticed that the altered future he was looking at is different from the true future he remembers.

No Caption Provided

By extension, an omnidirectional shield may still be effective as Yhwach still has to be spatially located.

Time Limitation

No Caption Provided

The further in time, the more unclear it becomes. This is true for normal eyes in space, but more so for time as the number of possible futures also increases.

Possibility Limitation

No Caption Provided

While Yhwach can see countless possible futures, only one will eventually come true. It is possible for one to actually avoid the future altered by Yhwach. Yhwach can always alter multiple futures, but the more future he alter, the more power it will cost him.

No Caption Provided

The Almighty cannot foresee events caused by the Almighty itself before the change has been made. Meaning for at points in time A,B,C in sequence, Yhwach at point A cannot forsee Yhwach at point B altering an event at point C. However, Yhwach at point B can forsee what happens at point C.

Kanzen Saimin

No Caption Provided

Yhwach was made susceptible to Kanzen Saimin in his first meeting with Aizen. Therefore activating Kanzen Saimin before Yhwach even arrive at Soul Society prevents Yhwach from seeing the true future of that location. As that was the first time Yhwach has been to Soul Society after awakening the Almighty, he has no recollection of the true future of that location either. (Space limitation)

Book of the End

No Caption Provided

Tsukishima's Fullbring Book of the End can split the past of whoever it cuts by literally inserting himself into the target's history.

No Caption Provided

As a result, it created a past for Orihime's powers to reject until.

No Caption Provided

While Yhwach could forsee Ichigo showing up again with a fixed blade, he didn't know how it was fixed.

This is because Book of the End rewrites the past. Yhwach couldn't perceive such events via The Almighty before he left. And once he left the area, he could no longer see what happens and will happen there.

Anti-Thesis

No Caption Provided

Any ability that rewrites the past will also not be seen by The Almighty. For example, Uryu's Schrift "Anti-Thesis" is the ability to reverse two events that have already taken place between two designated points. It is the reason why Yhwach couldn't forsee his arrow of Still Silver.

Still Silver

No Caption Provided

While The Almighty can negate all powers, it cannot negate what's not a power. For example the Still Silver mixed with his blood cannot be called a power.

Another interpretation is that the arrow simply negated The Almighty first before The Almighty negates it.

Mimihagi's Stillness

No Caption Provided

Mimihagi is sometimes called acausal or undeterministic for not being detected by The Almighty, but I have a differing opinion on how it works.

No Caption Provided

Mimihagi is said to govern Stillness, the opposite power of Advancement. Mimihagi is undetected because it lacks entropy, the physical property that dictates the flow of time, making its past and future one and the same.

Coincidentally, the other power that negated The Almighty has to do with Still Silver, which is also an aspect of Stillness.

Well this is going to get interesting very quickly.

Omnipotence and Omniscience followed by any form of weakness is completely ridiculous lmao.

Avatar image for ckarma

@emperorb777 : Just hyperbole

Honestly surprised this hasn't gotten more replies.

Good this was made, people who can see the future being immune to the Almighty is not only unproven but pretty ridiculous.

Why not bump

TWO THINGS TO ADD:

1. Since Yhwach absorbed Mimihagi's powers and fused with this Divine being (before absorbing the Soul King) wouldn't that imply that Yhwach absorbed Mimihagi's powers of Stillness? The Auswhalen leaves "silver" in the hearts of Quincy which eventually kills them, and the arrow that hits Yhwach is called "Silver of Stillness". Wouldn't that mean that Yhwach's silver that Ryuken had from Uryu's mother mutated and acquired the "Stillness" powers after Yhwach absorbed Mimihagi? Would that mean that Mimihagi who can also see the future, let himself be absorbed to achieve this outcome that Yhwach's Almighty couldn't see?

2. After Yhwach sees Ichigo arrive in Soul Society he comments that he knew that Tsukishima would repair his sword.

That's why the word "nigh-" exists. But that's just the English translation of "The Almighty."

While Yhwach was talking to Mimihagi, he was referring to the Soul King himself when he said he could see the future. Still Silver was said to be able to stop the powers on its own without the help of Mimhagi. Also if Mimihagi could choose to not be absorbed they wouldn't need the arrow to defeat him in the first place.

IIRC Yhwach forsaw that Ichigo will come back with the sword repaired, but never mentioned how it was repaired. So he was unable to forsee Tsukishima's powers.

@revold : Nope. But SK and Mimihagi can see the future. Yhwach mentions Mimi as the Soul King because Mimi just took is place. Yhwach doesn’t refer to Gerard or Pernida as the SK just because they are part of him. Plus the SK would never help the Soul Reapers as his power was attacking them.

Yhwach mentions that he saw that Ichibei talked to them but didn’t mentioned what we saw on the panels. Doesn’t mean it never happened. The author just didn’t draw it.

This is the first time, I'm seeing a bleach fan being fair and square and not wanking yhwach to multiversals.

Really appreciate your efforts .

Just one question let's say the planet in which yhwach stands suddenly gets destroyed so with Almighty can he change that so that neither him or the planet is destroyed or restore the planet back to normal?.

Glad that you like it.

The Almighty only allows him to apply the other abilities he already owned to the future he can now see. For him to restore the planet in the future, he needs to be able to restore it in the present (which I don't think he has shown capable of). In any case The Almighty is irrelevant for this question.

@revold : Bruh, Quincy can control matter. By restoring or destroying the planet in the future he just skipping the whole "overtime" feat and doing it in a one shot. We can take the mass of that floating island he created and divided by Earth's mass. We can then get a time frame for how long he will take base on the time-frame it took him to make the island.

I never said otherwise, in fact Yhwach did rebuilt Soul King palace with that ability, but not restoring some destroyed planet (which might not be Reishi according to original question). He probably can if its Reishi since he could destroy the balance of 3 worlds but just not directly shown. Point was that his ability/inability would be independent of Almighty. I don't think the point of The Almighty is instantaneous effect though, but it looks like it because the casting was done in the past, but the effect is in the future. For the collapse of 3 worlds we've seen, it was the effect that lasts, not the casting.

Time for a bump

I disagree with most of this. Mimihagi is shown to have the almighty and yhwach mentions that the soul king has it to. Next you are also ignoring the light novels. In the light novel it reveals that haschwalth messed with ywhach to make it appear to be a dream and that's why he ignored the vision. Also ishida is not past manipulation but switching events. They still occur but they order of events are switched. Ishida hit himself with arrow and used the antithesis to reverse the event with yhwach. Next yhwach has not shown that he needed auswahlen to revive himself he brought himself back alive easily, you need to prove that he actually used that ability to revive himself. He was also able to go ten years into the future to ichigos house and soul society while talking to ichigo, so he clearly doesnt have to be present. Next he knew ichigo would get his sword fix and was aware of the convo with ichibei. It is definitely reality warping he didnt move or use Reiatsu, he altered the royal palace, changed the reishi, and was able to use telekinesis. He also had energy constructs, and more. To say he doesnt have reality warping is off. He also created traps, what existing ability did he have that he have that allows him to create traps?

Avatar image for wanderez

^Some things he said bother me as well.

Especially that nowhere is it shown that Yhwach used Aushwahlen to resurrect, in fact, he literally said he did it by rewriting the future with the Almighty.

And most importantly, nowhere is it stated he can only use abilities he has and apply them in the future. This is a huge, huge..no, IMMEASURABLE stretch to say the least.

And last but not least, Yhwach doesnt only operate with possible futures, thats exactly why the Almighty does share properties of reality warping (however it is not straight up reality warping, Prime Soul King's the Almighty is what comes closer to reality warping). There is not a possible future where Yhwach magically resurrects, he is able to rewrite the possible futures into something that normally wouldn't be possible.

Gallery image 1

Yhwach did explain that the Almighty is "no different than the powers you two have", in the sense that "just as you two can only intervene with the moment you see before your eyes, I can interfere with all the futures reflected on these eyes". This means that all the Almighty does is to allow him to see and manipulate the future as if it's the present, but how and what Yhwach can do to the future is exactly what he could've done to the present without the Almighty. In other words, he's applying the powers he have to the future.

Imo you're taking Yhwach's statement too literal.

Almighty is no different than the power they have? They can power null, understand powers, etc... since when?

As i already mentioned, Yhwach could resurrect via the Almighty, it was never showed/mentioned he did it using Aushwahlen, this even goes against his own statement. Hell, we dont even know if he can Aushwahlen himself.

Another thing i forgot to mention, via the Almighty Yhwach could deal permanent damage to SK, Ichigo's sword and Aizen. Prior to these moments, he had never demonstrated such ability.

Yhwach also grew bigger after resurrecting, i dont recall him doing this before that.

I disagree with most of this. Mimihagi is shown to have the almighty and yhwach mentions that the soul king has it to. Next you are also ignoring the light novels. In the light novel it reveals that haschwalth messed with ywhach to make it appear to be a dream and that's why he ignored the vision.

I don't recall Mimihagi showing to have the Almighty in the manga. I didn't read the novels so if there's any evidence it would be good if you could cite or provide the extract, and I would go and change the OP accordingly.

Also ishida is not past manipulation but switching events. They still occur but they order of events are switched. Ishida hit himself with arrow and used the antithesis to reverse the event with yhwach.

Maybe "past manipulation" isn't the best way to put it but yeah that's what I meant. I was trying to generalize the reason why switching events are left undetected to the Almighty, because they worked on established events. One thing I disagree is that Ishida didn't hit himself with the arrow, because that would nullify his Schrift. He likely hit something else with that arrow then switched it with Yhwach.

Next yhwach has not shown that he needed auswahlen to revive himself he brought himself back alive easily, you need to prove that he actually used that ability to revive himself.

Not sure which instance you are referring to here. We know for a fact that he could revive people with Auswahlen, and based on what we know about the Almighty applying his powers to the future, I'm suggesting that he reviving himself by using Auswahlen on his future self, and not a power of the Almighty itself. If he could revive people without Auswahlen then that also means that power is not part of the Almighty, but as far as I know he didn't show such thing.

He was also able to go ten years into the future to ichigos house and soul society while talking to ichigo, so he clearly doesnt have to be present.

A portion of his black goo made it into the future. And his black goo was spread across all of the three worlds so it probably made it into Ichigo's house too.

Next he knew ichigo would get his sword fix and was aware of the convo with ichibei.

He knew Ichigo would get his sword fixed because Ichigo eventually arrives where he is with his fixed sword. He doesn't know HOW he got his sword fixed though, because his sword was fixed somewhere else (with a past manipulation power).

He was aware of his convo with Ichibei because he passed by there and saw that future. Even after he left that area, he could still remember what he saw.

I'm saying that The Almighty is not an reality warping ability. If you think that Yhwach has reality warping abilities (not due to The Almighty), that is an entirely different topic. And him being able to create traps just means he could do it in the present too even without the Almighty. It's not anything too fancy anyway.

Apparently you are taking it more literally that I did. He doesn't mean that the Almighty is LITERALLY no different from the powers they have, that's obviously not true. He mean it in the sense that both The Almighty and the normal powers all intervene in the events before their eyes. The only difference is Yhwach can see the future and they can't.

All these that I'm saying now is just for the "alter future" part. Of course The Almighty also have other perks derived from seeing the future, like nulling powers, but that's not part of the "alter future" ability we are talking about.

The Auswahlen has shown reviving other people, imo that's good enough indication that he might've used it then. Even if he couldn't Auswahlen himself, his eyes might see his future self as third person. Yes, he didn't specifically mention that he used Auswahlen, but neither did he say he didn't. Unless you can prove that Yhwach doesn't have any reviving powers, then we can safely say that the credit goes to Almighty.

He never demonstrated doesn't mean he can't. Yhwach didn't even get to meet SK before he got the Almighty, so he doesn't even get a chance to do it even if he have the ability.

I'm not sure which instance you are referring to here for growing bigger. But as far as I know Yhwach hasn't done anything with the Almighty that he was proved to be unable to do without.

I took it just as literal as you did. However, instead of taking a part of it, i took the whole thing. All he says is that he can affect the future and they cant, powers can mean Blut, supernatural abilities and all that jazz.

In order to use Aushwahlen, Yhwach has to sacrifice a Quincy, which doesnt happen. This further proves he used the Almighty, per his own word. He didnt say he didnt use Aushwahlen, right, in fact, he said he used the Almighty. Period. Not only are you going against his own words, but you're also assuming he can perform such thing on himself and that it happened off-panel for whatever reason. And reviving himself using his future self (which btw cant even happen since if he is dead in the present he is also dead in the future)? This is nothing but head canon. You're trying to make it wayyy too complex than it is.

He never demonstrated them before doesnt work here, he had plenty of time to demonstrate them.

Right after Ichigo bisects Yhwach and he resurrects, he's multiple times taller than Ichigo. Fun fact, right there Yhwach says he can "rewrite the future", which means he used to Almighty... you know, in order to rewrite it. He doesnt mention no Aushwahlen.

Anyways, lets just agree to disagree. This isnt going anywhere.

No bro that's not what he's saying. What he basically said: how I intervene with the future is no different from how you intervene with the present. Of course, the fact that he can intervene with the future in the first place is what makes him different, but Yhwach is saying HOW he intervene with the future is the same.

You're trying to make it wayyy too complex than it is..

It doesn't have to sacrifice a Quincy, that's just a side effect. Some Quincy has shown to survive Auswahlen. It's not shown on panel probably because unlike conventional usage, he's using it across time this time. Every time he use anything with the Almighty, the effect is instantaneous that's why we won't see any light. Either way, you can't deny the fact that it is at least a POSSIBLE explanation. In fact, your idea of revival being part of Almighty is a bigger assumption/headcanon. Because revival was never said nor shown to be a power of The Almighty, and also Yhwach's statement that he intervenes with the future the same way normal people intervenes with the present.

You are taking "rewrite" too literally, as if Yhwach became the author of Bleach. If I were you I'd take the whole sentence I cited over this one word any day. If you think The Almighty is reality warping, he can basically "rewrite" the future so that Ichigo or Aizen dies then? You don't suppose Yhwach held back against a War Potential considering he's someone cautious enough to use a doppelganger against Yamamoto whom he didn't even consider as dangerous.

Sigh, somethings never change it seems.

@joviolma : ?

@revold : how do I upload scans I'm new to the site? Next I'll respond to tour other responses in a while, lol coronavirus is shutting school down for me. In the chapter 620 he mentions mimihagi having his eyes and mimihagi has two pupils

@samsung7bae : There should be an Img button above the message box. If you're on mobile just switch to desktop mode.

I'm pretty sure Pernida is the one with two pupils not Mimihagi.

Gallery image 1

In chapter 620 he was referring to the his father aka the soul king himself whom were able to see the future, not Mimihagi the Right Arm. In fact when change the subject from SK to Mimihagi he specified "Right Arm". Yhwach probably assumed that Mimihagi inherited the will of Soul King, that's why when Mimihagi tried to consume him he credited that action to SK himself.

@revold : those are the scans but it is clear and the light novels even bring it up that mimhagi acted on the will of the soul king. That's why yhwach couldn't see mimhagi interfering, his sole reason for absorbing mimihagi and the soul king was because both of them couldnt be seen with his vision. He even calls himself the child of the right hand.

Yes it acted on the will of the Soul King, I said it myself in the previous post even without reading the LN.

No he didn't call himself the child of the right hand, he called himself the child of Soul King himself.

Right arm made of Reishi. So you want to consume me, your own child?! ... You may have forseen the future, but you could not forsee the difference in our strength. You are... far inferior to what I am now.

Everything up till this point is Yhwach talking to the SK himself. This is because right after this he said:

Right Arm... I am taking your power!

Yhwach changed the subject he was speaking to to "Right Arm". In other words, he wasn't speaking to the Right Arm before. If he wasn't speaking to the Right Arm, then it's apparent that he was speaking to Soul King himself. To summarize:

  • It is Soul King who wants to consume his own child, Yhwach
  • It is Soul King who have forseen the future, but could not forsee the difference in strength
  • It is Soul King who is far inferior to Yhwach now
  • It is Mimihagi's power Yhwach is taking

@revold : @revold : what in the same sentence after he says right arm of reishi, yhwach mentions your tried to consume your own child. We saw the right arm try to consume him ,when did the soul king try to consume yhwach? It was only mimihagi, therefore he was speaking to both mimhagi who was enacting the soul kings will.

@revold : @revold : what in the same sentence after he says right arm of reishi , yhwach mentions your tried to consume your own child. We saw the right arm try to consume him ,when did the soul king try to consume yhwach? It was only mimihagi, therefore he was speaking to both mimhagi who was enacting the soul kings will.

No it's "Right arm made of Reishi", and it isn't a subject, it's ALSO a description about SK himself, that SK has a right arm made of Reishi. Otherwise, he wouldn't have called out "Right arm" again later would he?

And you have read the novels so you should know for a fact that Yhwach is SK's son not Mimihagi's. From there you can get that Yhwach is talking to SK. Not to mention Mimihagi the right arm has no multiple pupils, the eyes with multiple pupils is still inside the main body of SK.

Whatever Mimihagi do (like trying to consume Yhwach) it is only according to the will of SK. It'd be weird if Yhwach is talking to the HAND for something it did and not the person himself. But he would change the subject to the hand if he is absorbing the hand only.

Mimihagi can see the future. Yhwach said so. When Mimihagi was inside Ukitake we saw Ukitake preparing to sacrifice himself as if Mimihagi had either told him or show him the Death of the Soul King. Ukitake was not surprised like everyone else when SK died.

@babyholdmyhand : yup, I agree with this.

Avatar image for galiel

@revold Thank you for your analysis but I don't feel that's it and I will try to explain why.

I'd like to get out of the way things we agree on.

First, Yhwach's Almighty abilities have changed after he absorbed Soul King, CFYOW light novels have already indicated that power of an ability depends on user's reiatsu, which is why for example during the release of bankai the ability of the user is amplified due to the increase in reiatsu. This is also why Shutzstaffel abilities changed for the better after Auswahlen. So I agree that his Almighty's ability has changed due to increase in his reiatsu. This is also the reason why Soul King's Almighty was something on a whole different level compared to Yhwach's. And the reason Yamamoto was able to beat him 1000 years ago, Yhwach he likely immune to special abilities/hax not raw power which is the main attribute of Yamamoto's bankai. Or his Almighty was even more inferior than it was during his fight with Ichibei, or he didn't use it, we would need to see that fight in order to understand.

Second, I fully agree on the weaknesses of the Yhwach's ability to see the future and susceptibility to hypnosis etc. He can see only what he will see in the future.

But the rest, it just seems like reaching and downplaying, while the idea he can warp reality however he wishes doesn't seem to be the case either.

First of all if his Almighty was what you say it is, then it would be inferior to "The Balance" and"The Miracle", abilities which Yhwach possesed. Which is why I don't think that's the case.

However, the idea that he can reality warp the future, rewritte it literally would imply he could literally make everyone dead, steal their powers without Auswahlen, give himself infinite strength and blow up everyone. But no, he specifically started using Almighty because Ichigo was stronger than he is.

What I think you missed (I am not sure) is that Yhwach can only influence his own future, otherwise he could reshape all the worlds just by thinking about it, without using power. You might have implied this with space limitations but I don't think that's it.

Since Ichigo was stronger, how could he so simply break his bankai as it were nothing, while he barely withstood his hybrid shikai which forced him to use Almighty? Additionalyl Ichigo said he didn't sense any reiatsu, if it is what you say it is Ichigo would feel some reiatsu since that's how you say Yhwach influences the future, with his own power, if it was his raw power that broke the sword even trough the future, Ichigo would be able to sense it.

Additionally when Orihime told Rukia what happened it seemed that she strongly implied to Rukia that he can indeed rewritte the future, at which Rukia said how that would mean there is no limit to what he can do.

I am not saying that I have the answer, I am simply saying that you are downplaying the ability, while others are mostly wanking his power. But I only have a hypothesis, not even a theory yet. Which is one of the reasons I am here.

Really appreciate your comment. If you have more info from the LN feel free to share because I've not read them.

I'm just going to address our differing points for brevity.

To clarify, what do you mean exactly by "can only influence his own future"? He can influence Ichigo's future by cutting his Bankai into half, which stayed broken even after he left.

And if that's true, maybe he can't make everyone dead, but does that mean he can still make himself omnipotent or indestructible? Or is what he can do still limited by his Reiatsu in which case, that's basically my interpretation: the Almighty applies what he can do in the present to the future. So conversely any inability he has in the present, applies to the future as well.

No Caption Provided

To withstand his the blade his passive reiatsu has to be greater than it, but to break the blade he just need to output enough Reiatsu.

Ichigo couldn't sense Reiatsu from present Yhwach because it was not him that broke the blade, it was past Yhwach that did it, at least that's how I interpreted it.

But now that I think about it, when Orihime tried to restore it, they say it was broken in the coming future. Which means even by then the blade wasn't technically broken, like the effect from the future somehow traces back to the present (and past). Yeah it doesn't make any sense but let's see if you have any good idea on this.

Well Rukia only said what she said based on what she heard from Orihime, so she probably isn't implying what you think she is. And if you were Rukia and hear someone with the power to manipulate the future, wouldn't you have possibly said something similar like he can do anything?

Oh I don't know if you're having the same idea in mind as me here. He doesn't see the future through the eyes of his future self, if that's the case then he would've seen through the eyes of Yhwach who was eventually free from KS, which apparently he didn't see. He sees the future through the eyes of his present self, which means you only need to hypnotise current Yhwach.

Another factor that made Aizen's plan work is that Yhwach has never been to SS after the Almighty was awakened prior to that. If he did, then he could remember the true future he saw, and realise that the future he's seeing now is fake. So by the time he arrived at SS for the first time, Aizen's KS was already in place. Of course he may have been to SS a thousand years ago but he can't see that far into the future.

First of all, don't take me to dogmatically, as I am still thinking about it and that's why I am here, so you could correct me if I make a mistake in my judgment or miss something. I only hope we can figure out this one, it is the most vague of Bleach powers. You might be right but it seems as if you are missing something. Light novels don't say much about it, the only thing we know from light novels about Yhwach is that he is currently the Soul King and why Aizen opposed him, what he was going to go etc. There is nothing about the nature of his Almighty because Kubo probably felt as if he explained it well enough. However there is mention that Almighty is Soul King's power, in his hands it was reality warping ability, and he was referred to by Ichibei as "virtually omnipotent".

I don't think he can warp reality in such sense but has causality manipulation just like Ishida's Anti Thesis, but unlike manipulating cause and effect of what already happened, he can manipulate cause and effect of what will happen in any and all of the futures, change it's possibility, which is what it means to rewritte it. Manipulation of quantum probability, make things that are unlikely to happen occur only requiring of them to be logically possible.

I think we get the best clues from his fight with Ichibei, with his inferior version of the Almighty all he could do is negate the effect of certain abilities in every possible future but he could not manipulate it. To put it simply he was immune to fate, but after absorbing Soul King got limited manipulation of it.

I still have no idea what happened during the last fight though.

You said that Ishida would have lost his Anti-Thesis abilities if he shot himself with that arrow, but that's not true since that arrow stops only powers and abilities of those who used Auswahlen on those that arrow was made of, to put it simply that arrow would only work on Yhwach and all it would do to Ishida is harming him, not taking his abilities away.

But I don't think Ishida shot himself, I think he definitely shot Yhwach directly, as to why Yhwach couldn't see that happening I have no idea, might have been Kyoka Suigetsu, because it did already fucked with Yhwach's sense of time, so he probably expected that arrow later or earlier or he thought he reversed it but he didn't, or he didn't see Ishida or that arrow in all possible futures because he didn't have power there.

I am convicned, contrary to you, that Yhwach can see and influence only the things all of his future selves see. And none of his future selves could see the arrow coming due to not having power after it hit him thus making the fact that Ishida shot him from behind more important than we think.

He can see what he will see in the future. And he did, he saw himself dying in the future but he was able to see it after Kyoka Suigetsu effect has ended, that's the only reason he was able to change it, not before, because what he saw before was screwing with his sense of time. I don't think during that fight he could see clearly, only after Aizen released KS at the moment before Ichigo stabbed him he was able to see it and rewrite it. But Aizen himself doesn't know in which way his powers affect Yhwach, we do know however that it has something to do with his sense of time.

Plese do correct me if I made some mistakes or overlooked something.

First of all, don't take me to dogmatically, as I am still thinking about it and that's why I am here, so you could correct me if I make a mistake in my judgment or miss something. I only hope we can figure out this one, it is the most vague of Bleach powers.

Not at all. In fact I already pointed out a few of my disagreements so rest assured I'm not holding back. Just don't take me too dogmatically either.

I suspect that it is just a nod to it's name 全知全能 which means Omnipotence, similar to Uryu's statement, as opposed to straight up reality warping.

Even then I'm confident that's not how the Almighty works because it has shown to create events that cannot happen due to pure circumstantial chance or probability. For instance I don't forsee any possible future where Yhwach can suddenly revive himself from death. Rather, I believe Yhwach merely applies Auswahlen (which he used to revive Gerard? before) to his future self using Almighty. Meaning he artificially created an alternate future that shouldn't be possible conventionally.

No Caption Provided

So I guess what you mean is something like passive version of The Balance. But since I disagreed that it has something to do with fate manipulation, I don't think we're dealing with fate immunity over here either. But we already have some vague ideas:

  • In Yhwach's words: I can "know" everything that I can see, and all the "powers" I know take my side. Not only can they not be used to defeat me, they cannot be used to harm me.
  • In Haschwalth's words: His Majesty's power is the power to see all that is about to take place. And the power his Majesty sees, cannot be used to kill him.

Idk about you, but this reminds me of what Yamamoto said here about Yhwach's power stealing technique.

Maybe you're right, but even then Ishida doesn't have to. Anti-thesis "reverse events that have already taken place between two designated points", which can be himself but doesn't have to.

No Caption Provided

No he didn't shoot himself because he didn't have to. He can shoot some random place and then reverse the event between Yhwach and the place he shot.

He definitely used Anti-Thesis because that's the only reason why Yhwach couldn't detect it. In fact, Haschwalth even hinted that Anti-Thesis makes Ishida the only one who can challenge Yhwach's power aka The Almighty.

That doesn't explain it because because Yhwach would be alerted if he cannot see the future. But no, he could see the future perfectly fine, but because Ishida's power reverses established events that has already happened, he can't see that.

Another counterexample is that he wouldn't be fooled by KS if he can see through the eyes of his future self. Because he eventually got out of KS but yet his past self was still fooled. But if we followed your logic, as long as the future Yhwach can see the truth, so can the past Yhwach.

Yes no doubt about that, he revived his future self right after he got released from KS (but before he died of course).

No Caption Provided

If you look at how Yhwach himself explains his power, the words "know" and "powers" are in quotation. That corresponds to the Kanji 全知全能 lit. "All-Knowing All-Powerful". It's very likely that it's just two independent aspects of the shrift: future perception/knowledge and power negation/nullification. Rather than one being a consequence of the other, which is also an option I've explored before but eventually hit a dead end.

They always put "" when talking about powers of "The Almighty" when referring to it, and considering Ichibei said all of this while previously saying that Soul King had powers bordering on omnipotence and omniscience suggest he is talking about two different things. And what was done to the world back then definitely required reality warping powers of huge magnitude, physics and laws of the universe were completely changed, concept of death did not exist, and many of the other things. Soul King had powers of a platonic demiurge.

I think you are reaching when you say he used Auswahlen to revive himself, considering that we haven't seena single clue of that happening, nothing similar to what happened when he revived Shutzstaffel, he was simply suddently alive.

I think Yhwach clearly stated that it's not that he couldn't steal his power because he doesn't know anything about him but because he is the only one capable of controlling it.

After Ishida's fight with Haschwalt he could not simply transfer his wounds onto a rock, he had to transfer them onto Haschwalth because it's Haschwalth who dealt those wounds to Ishida in the first place. Anti-Thesis is the power to reverse the effect, the power to reverse the effect of powers. This is how I figured out how "Almighty" works, or should I say I think I figured it out, manipulation of the order of events, is at least how Almighty works. And I don't think you understood me well or perhaps I did not express myself well enough.

But when I put it together it made more sense. Yhwach doesn't just replace certain point in present with another certain point of that same moment from another timeline. He can literally reorder the future, in sense for example that he can bring effect into the present before the cause, he can make something happen before it should and also affects all other possibilities.

Take for instance the traps he placed, it was possible for him to place them after Ichigo steped on those spots in the future and then bring that effect to present before causing it. He brings effect without cause into the present, but only if it can possibly happen. And there are many ways in which Yhwach or someone else could have broken Ichigo's bankai and then he simply made all possible futures to be just that, as he says to illusion of Renji "all bankai have been broken in the future" and then he simply made that possible future the only possible future that can happen.

That is how he was able to rewrite his death in the first place, by delaying it, replacing it with another possibility, making it as if it never happened or simply remove that event entirely, so its not that he revived himself but replaced the future event of Ichigo cutting him with another possible future in which he wasn't standing in the place for Ichigo to stabb him the future in which he moved simply because he could or as I said simply erased it, rejected that from happening.

Orihime's Santen Kesshun for example, he has rewritten in in such sense that he hits Ichigo before she protects Ichigo from his attack, she made it in time but he reordered it in such way as if she didn't or as if he did it before she used it. The reason she could not heal Tensa Zangetsu is because it was broken in all possible futures from that point forward, but once Tsukishima created different past he created new timelines which weren't reordered by Yhwach so she could reject it because it was only broken in the futures in which she didn't try to reject it. His primary Almighty was probably to just to remove the events, similar to Orihime who rejects the events that happened in the past while Yhwach can do it in the future, but once he became more powerful he could bring any effect into the present and turn it into every possibility. So it's not that he can influence future by brining present into the future as you think, he can bring future into the present and any other possible future that's going to happen. So its basically the ultra version of what you think. Ofc this only can work on things he is capable of seeing. What confused Yhwach was Tsukishima creating another timeline he didn't rewritte.

Imagine it as tapes of all possible versions of a movie you can cut and reorganize in any way, even being able to throw away any part of it you don't like, but you can't change the content of the movie, the reality of it. That's how I think "The Almighty" works. Limited reality warping.

He could not see Ishida's arrow, that much is clear, as to why I don't know. Maybe it's because it was a new timeline and Yhwach didn't know it, he simply wasn't looking because he didn't see Ishida in any of the possible futures in the previous timeline he reorganized. Again he was not aware of what Tsukishima did. Or it might be something as dumb as Yhwach not being able to see that arrow to begin with because it was immune to his clairvoyant power, Occam's razor I am avoiding. Basically the last moment asspull like dangai Ichigo.

Ishida was capable of reversing the effect of Almighty itself, by reversing it simply means restoring reality to what it was, if Yhwach replaced/reordered future events he could simply put them back to what they were automatically if Yhwach brought different event to happen instead of the one that should happen Ishida could reverse it back. Which is what Anti-Thesis does reverses the effect that has happened between two targets, not simply reversing any effect between any two targets. So if Ishida shot rock with the arrow and used Anti-Thesis then it would end up Ishida shooting himself with the arrow or should I say the damage dealt to the rock would be dealt to Ishida. If he could do what you think he can then during his fight with Haschwalth he could simply blow up a rock, use Anti-Thesis and Haschwalth would end up being completely disintegrated. That might be some higher level of Anti-Thesis power that Ishida did not reach yet, but for now all he can do is reverse effect that happened between two targets on those two targets, not any other targets, that would be OP even for Almighty and Ishida could run a gauntlet trough Bleach.

I am not sure how Aizen's KS affected his powers, last couple dozen of chapters are incarnation of information deficiency. If Yhwach wasn't seeing the future trough the eyes of all possible future selves then he would be able to see trough Kyoka Suigetsu because he is not looking at it trough his own eyes but as it is.

Yeah, the idea that he can simply negate things because he sees them is ridiculous, it was ridiculous when chapter came out and it is still ridiculous, probably a mistranslation, regardless even Ishida couldn't figure out what his powers are despite Haschwalt telling him that back then when he fought Ichibei. Or maybe Kubo jsut decided to make it more OP.

Ok I think I'm slowly getting what you're trying to say, but before I get ahead of myself let's lay out our differing interpretations (yours vs mine). Correct me if I misrepresent your interpretations. I order it such that the conclusion of the previous point will help explain the next.

  • What of the future he can see (what his future selves see vs what his current self can spatially see)
  • How Anti-Thesis works (restore the effect of powers vs swap established events between two targets)
  • How he manipulates futures (reorder future events vs interfering with the future as if it's the present)
  • How he negates powers (fate immunity vs simply another power)

1. I've once considered your interpretation before, but it simply doesn't work. If he really sees the future through the eyes of his future self, then there's no way he can see Ichibei revived because his future self wasn't there. It must be that Yhwach saw the future of what happened when he was once there.

And as you said yourself, you can't explain why Yhwach could still be fooled by KS, because we know at least one of his future self has seen the true future. The reason why is precisely because he doesn't. The only way for Yhwach to be not fooled is to be at the Soul Society before KS was activated. But unfortunately the last time he was in Soul Society, he still hasn't awakened Almighty yet, therefore he has no recollection of the truth future to compare to when he saw the KS-manipulated futures.

2. The basis we should both start from is the explanation given by the characters itself, which I think your interpretation is straying away from. Haschwalth specifically said that the reason why Anti-Thesis can bypass Almighty is because it swaps established events which Yhwach cannot foresee, not because it "restores the effect of the power", that's actually Orihime's powers.

If we follow their explanations carefully, in theory Ishida can swap between any two points, never mentioning that it needs to be a human. But from the case you brought up, I agree it is implied that Ishida couldn't swap his injuries with a rock. But it's probably just a practical limitation on how the two targets must be similar in shape or form. That still means Ishida could've used a body nearby, or like you said, use his own if that works.

As for your blowing up rock case, no Haschwalth wouldn't disintegrate because he has superior durability, but he still experiences the same event as the rock did, which is taking the attack. At least this is how I interpreted it.

And as for your theory of how it overcame Almighty, it simply doesn't make sense because that would mean there is at least one possible future (the original one in fact) which Yhwach got shot. But if you read the series, it is very obvious that Yhwach didn't even foresee that happening at all. If he did, he could simply step aside and dodge the arrow without ever needing to manipulate the future, or at least he would be aware of it coming but he wasn't.

If you don't mind, I'll leave the other 2 points for after we've settled on the consensus on these 2 points to maximise efficiency.

1. The theory is shitty when I think about it more deeply, you are right. He probably can see the future trough his eyes from the present, so he doesn't know the future but sees the future things he sees in the present, I was mixing seeing and knowing a little, so you are probably right about that. It was my mistake, and ability of KS is not to simply spam illusions but make the victim interpret things the way Aizen wants them to, in that sense it can easily be explain how he fucked up Yhwach's powers by making him misinterpret the things he sees in the future. That would also easily explain why he couldn't see Ishida's arrow coming or Aizen waiting for him in Soul Society. 2. Haschwalth didn't say anything about Anti-Thesis, aside from the fact that from what he heard from Ishida it can counter "The Almighty". Ishida specifically said that he can reverse "anything" that has happened "among" two designated targets. Saying that's it is because of shape is reaching, it's not interpretation on your part but rather adding information to fill the holes in your theory. If I used the same methodology I could easily fill the holes in theory that Almighty can literally rewritte the future by claiming that things he didn't do with it are simply his limitations (such as making himself unviersal for instance and beating the shit out of Ichigo). And the reason I am here is because I didn't want to do that, and the reason I didn't want to do that is because it's wrong hermeneutics. Ishida could not swap his injuries with a rock because rock didn't deal those injuries to Ishida, he can reverse what happened among two designated targets, he can't. Ishida's Anti-Thesis doesn't replicate events in reverse but reverses what happened among certain two designated targets, he manipulates the effect, reverses it, he doesn't replicate cause and effect both and reverses it, otherwise we would see cause as well. Remember that Haschwalth used "The Balance" before Ishida used Anti-Thesis, and wounds dealt to him were probably from Haschwalth using "The Balance". So he reversed what happened, as if it was he who used "The Balance" against Haschwalth, the effect of it, not the entire event. I never said that Ishida used Anti-Thesis to overcome Almighty, I said how he could have possibly done it but that is irrelevant, as I said and as you say now Yhwach clearly didn't the arrow coming, this is entirely different issue, not how Ishida countered "The Almighty" with his "The Anti-Thesis" but why didn't Yhwach see that coming. Yeah, it seems more efficient this way, but I think we've already settled the first point, as I was wrong about it.

@galiel : Actually now that I thought about it more, yes maybe you're right. Your explanation is more convenient and assumes less which I honestly didn't think of this before. With that being said, that means Ishida did not use Anti-Thesis to land the arrow? Because Yhwach didn't fire the arrow at him. But no matter which interpretation of the Almighty we adopt, there's no way Yhwach wouldn't be able to foresee at least the possibility of the arrow hitting him if Ishida didn't use Anti-Thesis. Even from the plot perspective, Haschwalth's statements serve as a foreshadowing for a "Almighty counter" moment like this. So as uncertain as I'm about how Anti-Thesis works, one thing I'm quite certain is that Anti-Thesis is definitely involved in landing that arrow one way or another. What do you think?

@revold : the arrow was backwards, so it hit Yhwach from behind, but Uryu was on the ground to Ichigo's right and Ichigo was in front of Yhwach. Is likely that Uryu shot himself backwards and use Anti-thesis to give the arrow to Yhwach. The arrows power negation wouldn't have work on Uryu as he wasn't the one to cast the Auswhalen. There's no way Uryu's arrow had enough power to pierce Yhwach's skin when Yhwach could crack Ichigo's bankai with his barehands.

10 Times Ichigo Defied the Odds in Bleach

Why did bleach lose popularity against naruto and one piece, 10 biggest bleach: thousand-year blood war surprises (so far).

Many classic shonen action titles hold up to this day, and one of them is Tite Kubo's hit series Bleach , which was once a part of Shonen Jump's "big three." In fact, the anime is returning next year, and longtime fans can see some of their favorite fights from the final arc animated at last.

RELATED: Bleach: 5 Things Ichigo Can Do That Uryu Cannot (& Vice Versa)

That will include Uryu Ishida , the Quincy archer who fights loyally by Ichigo's side. He is a crack shot with his bows and arrows, and he can also use traps and high-speed movement to get the edge on his foes. Uryu has gotten himself into many scraps, and these are his ten finest of all.

10 Uryu Vs Ryuken Ishida

antithesis bleach sword

This was really a training session, but it was an exciting scene all the same. Uryu had lost his Quincy powers fighting Mayuri Kurotsuchi, and he turned to his Quincy father for help. Ryuken reluctantly decided to aid his son, and escorted him to a training room.

The training was merciless, and Ryuken used a small but powerful Quincy bow to keep his son on his toes. Finally, Ryuken hit Uryu's heart just right to restart his Quincy powers, and Uryu was then ready to help Ichigo rescue Orihime in Hueco Mundo.

9 Uryu & Ichigo Vs Gillian

uryu ichigo bleach

This was an early battle, and after a point, Uryu and Ichigo would be able to dispatch a foe like a Gillian-class Menos Grande without much trouble. But at the time, Uryu and Ichigo were much less powerful, and a titanic Gillain was a serious challenge right there in Karakura Town.

Neither fighter could handle that beast alone, so Uryu asked Ichigo to lend him his Soul Reaper powers, in order to augment his bow. The joint attack was successful, and the ever-so-resourceful Uryu injured the Gillian and drove it away. Rukia was quite impressed.

8 Uryu Vs Jirobo Ikkanzaka

uryu ishida firing his bow

All things considered, this was a pretty minor fight with few consequences. But it was impressive to see Uryu bravely go toe to toe with a powerful and arrogant (and huge) Soul Reaper like this, and he did it out of intense personal loyalty to Orihime .

RELATED: Bleach: 5 Times Uryu Was Wrong (& 5 Times He Was Smarter Than We Thought He Was)

Jirobo revealed his shikai, which creates a number of airborne projectiles that he can launch at his enemies. Uryu, meanwhile, retaliated with a flurry of arrows and destroyed his opponent's shikai, then targeted and destroyed Jirobo's spirit energy reserves to defeat him.

7 Uryu Vs Ulquiorra Schiffer

uryu charing at ulquiorra

This was barely even a fight, but it showed the true extent of Uryu's grit and commitment to the fight, so it was fun to watch even if it was rather one-sided. Ichigo fought against and lost to a fully-released Ulquiorra , so Uryu took his turn to protect Orihime.

Despite losing a hand, Uryu kept fighting his powerful Espada enemy, and acted with unusual bloodlust and aggression the entire time. Uryu assured his opponent that he is indeed calm and rational, which allowed him to stay in the fight. Uryu didn't go down too easily.

6 Uryu Vs Iceringer

iceringer bleach

Hueco Mundo's entrance is guarded by two low-level Arrancars, one of them being Iceringer. Chad tried to fight him, but Iceringer was too quick, so Uryu took over the fight. Iceringer showed what he was capable of, and fired many projectiles with a technique called Una Tirotea.

RELATED: Bleach: The Espada, Ranked From Least to Most Evil

Like Jirobo, Iceringer learned to not challenge Uryu on his own terms. No one can beat Uryu when it comes to ranged attacks, and Uryu fired a whopping 1,200 arrows to surround and pummel Iceringer into submission. It was a good start to the Hueco Mundo mission, all right.

5 Uryu Vs Yammy

yammy from bleach

In his sealed state, Yammy Llargo is the weakest Espada, but he is still quite powerful. In the early stages of Ichigo's fight with Ulquiorra, Yammy burst onto the scene, and Uryu decided to hold him off and keep Ichigo's flank safe.

Uryu used his arrows and anti-Arrancar mines to push this mighty Espada back, and when Uryu blasted holes in the floor, Yammy fell many stories down, thus allowing Ichigo to fight Ulquiorra without interruption. That was some good work on Uryu's part.

4 Uryu Vs Cirucci Sanderwicci

cirucci sanderwicci evil smile bleach

This Arrancar is Cirucci, a former Espada with a lot to prove. She and her two fellows challenged Ichigo's team in their own lair of Las Noches, and Uryu had to find a way to deal with Cirucci and her yo-yo-like zanpakuto and her moth-like released state.

RELATED: Bleach: 10 Characters Who Should Inherit the Attack Titan

With the aid of Pesci the Arrancar, Uryu sent Cirucci toppling to the floor, then dueled her released form at a distance. He also used his Seeleschneider, a short sword that can cut an enemy's spirit energy and steal it. He defeated Circucci for good when his most powerful arrow beat Cirucci's strongest ranged attack. He had more reach.

3 Uryu & Renji Abarai Vs Szayelaporro Grantz

szayelaporro grantz bleach

Once Uryu finished off Cirucci without killing her, he moved on to reinforce Renji, and went up against Szayelaporro Grantz , the scientist Espada. Uryu's powers were getting shut down and blocked, but he still found a way to help Renji injure this Espada.

Once Renji attacked Szayelaporro and held him in place, Uryu drew a star on the ground and set off a mighty detonation. Szayelaporro was forced to eat one of his fracciones to heal, then take a break from the battle to get changed. From then on, Uryu was on the back foot, but he refused to back down, like a true hero.

2 Uryu vs Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi

antithesis bleach sword

This was Uryu's biggest challenge in the Soul Society invasion. Although Uryu could handle 3rd-seat Soul Reapers with ease, a Captain is a whole different matter. He was on the defensive as soon as Mayuri Kurotsuchi attacked him, and even his Hirenkyaku could only do so much against this Captain.

But Uryu had conviction on his side, and he was risking it all to protect Orihime and avenge his grandfather Soken's gruesome death at Mayuri's hands some years earlier. Even when Captain Kurotsuchi used his massive bankai, Uryu used the full extent of his powers, and blasted that bankai and its user apart. Only barely did Captain Kurotsuchi escape.

1 Uryu Vs Jugram Haschwalth

Uryu appeared to be a total traitor when he joined the Sternritters and was appointed Yhwach's heir. But Uryu was truly loyal to his dear friends, and Jugram confronted him over it. The two Quincy soon duel, with Jugram's The Balance fighting Uryu's The Antithesis.

It was a bitter fight involving swords, bows and shields, and each warrior was capable of transferring injuries onto other parties. In the end, Jugram had his power drained by the Auswahlen, and he was swayed by Uryu's words of loyalty to his friends. Uryu had so impressed Jugram with his strength and conviction of friendship, Jugram allowed Uryu to become healed at his expense and urged the younger Quincy to protect those friends no matter what. Not even Yhwach's right-hand man can dissuade Uryu from walking alongside his real family.

Best Quincy Weapons and Tier List in Type Soul

All Quincy Weapons

Out of all the Quincy Weapons in Type Soul , only one that isn’t very good at the moment. Each weapon has its own unique playstyle, so you may want to try each one out until you know which is best for you. Here are all Quincy Weapons in Type Soul :

  • Antithesis : Decent crit-weapon but with a lacking stun proc.
  • Cang Du Claws : Strong weapon, but falls short of Warden.
  • Quincy Cutlass : Solid fast-attack weapon, but not quite as good as some other Quincy weapon choices.
  • Quincy Glock : Once top-tier, recent nerfs have reduced its practicality.
  • Quilge : Powerful M1s, making it a solid choice.
  • Schwert : Ranged crit-based weapon.
  • Jugramshield : Effective for medic builds.
  • Warden Gauntlets : High-chaining and arguably the best Quincy weapon currently, ideal for all Quincy players.
  • Reichweite : Versatile, especially good for Kendo users.
  • Yamato : Mythical weapon with three criticals.
  • Zweis : Dominant weapon with three criticals, highly effective.
  • Murasama (Quincy) : 60 Kendo Mythical Weapon
  • Abject (Quincy) : powerful sword that summons swords as a critical.

Type Soul Quincy Weapon Tier List

Abject is one of the best Quincy Weapons in Type Soul

We’ve put together a Quincy Weapon Tier List for Type Soul to highlight the best weapon choices for Quincy characters. With this Tier List, you essentially want to focus on a weapon from the S Tier. While A Tier weapons are solid enough, they just don’t reach the potential of S Tier. You should probably avoid both the B Tier and C Tier weapons for now, as they need some buffs to be viable.

  • Warden Gauntlets

Theories on Uryu's Anti-Thesis.

According to definition he can reverse anything that happened between two targets. We do know that it is not so much of a reverse exactly. It could be only one way as it was shown between Jugaram and Uryu. As when he first used it, he transferred his wounds but never recieved anything visible in return.

The second time Uryu was able to project his wound upon Jugaram on his deathbed but never recieved the lingering effect of Yhwach's light thing in return. Which leads me to two possibilities, one that Uryu can make the transfer one way without recieving anything in return. The second is that exchanges do not have to equivalent. Which means that Uryu can transfer his mortal wounds and only receive a paper cut in return.

Another thing to note is that it was never specified if the targets have to be organic or not. Which means that he could in theory even transfer the events occured between a human and a rock.

Now to my main point, I was kinda thinking how Jugaram said that Anti-thesis can even overcome Almighty. Then I thought how could transfer of damage defeat Yhwach who can just regenerate?

Then I realized that it doesn't necessarily have to be damage that gets reversed as it was stated to the reversal of anything that occured between two targets. Could that mean even the effects of a technique such as Almighty can be reversed? I think so.

Imo, this is how it would work,

Yhwach: Sees future.

Ishida: Doesn't see the future.

Anti-thesis happens,

Yhwach: Doesn't see the future.

Ishida: Sees future.

These are my theories what do you guys think?
